I can see that. It has less mystical stuff & more action stuff than most of the others, which would translate better to a movie version.

While watching "Interview with a Vampire" I noticed that Antonio banderas was really good at his role. I think he would make a nice Jean-Claude. (Then again, I really like Antonio, nevermind his spanish accent, Im'm pretty sure he was French in IwaV. Sounded really good to me.)

Unfortunately, I think Antonio would be too old to play Jean-Claude. But that is just my opinion.

Narniakat
I would love to see an Anita Blake movie if it was as true to the books as the first two Harry Potter movies were.

The second HP was good!!! But they messed the third one up totally when they got the new director in!!!

Narniakat: True, true. But I still can dream =^.^=!!!!

Double_Sins: Yeah, I don't like the new guy. I hope he doesn't mess up the next book. The third book was my fav "book" but I hated the movie. He changed too many things from the book, that I could hardly understand it.

Wait... Antonio Banderas wasn't in IwtV, was he?

I thought he was in QotD... with the really strange wig on... trying to be the Italian cherub boy...

Make no mistake, I like Antonio Banderas, but he was poorly chosen as Armand, whichever movie it was. Armand had golden curls, and they gave Antonio one of those really long black wigs that little girls wear on Halloween.

I would like to see a movie, but I duno. Books always give so much more details that movie. Plus, I'm afraid that they'd...cast all the wrong people for it...or even worse...make all the pretty boys ugly!!! ::hides in a corner and rocks back and forth:: Also, Laurell said that when people have asked her to do a movie, they wanted to make Anita a big breasted blond, saying that there were no latin actresses. Ha!

This is the first time I heard about it. And I would like to see how well the do in making a movie. I don't think they will do very well. The book is always better. In every movie that I've seen that has a book before it.

It's been talked about alot I guess, but it's not going to happen. I went to a LKH signing she said herself that the books would never be mae into movies.
I don't think I would ever want that to really happen either. I don't think they would do a good job making the Anita Blake books into movies, because they never do. When they make a really good book into a movie, they never are what you expected.

I think it'd be a good series of movies to watch, as long as it doesn't develope into porno's.

After what was done to Mysts of Avalon, I cringe at the idea of anyone making a movie from an Anita book. And a Made-for-TV series would be a disaster.

They'd never be able to capture the raw sexuality that surrounds Laurel's characters, and it'd be so watered down to appease the conservative masses that it'll end up being nothing more then a Buffy-remake.

Just think, Jean Claude reduced to a Black-haired Spike. Werewolf costume effects similar to Oz, A Xander-like Edward whose only purpose is to be the wise-crackin' sidekick, and Anita herself, whining nonstop about not having a "normal" enough life.

Not to mention the very likely possibility that Anita will end up with Richard in order to give it all that "Happily ever after" feeling.

Blah! Just thinking about it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I still think a series on HBO would be able to do it justice. They have loads of sex like in Sex in the City & Carnival. And they do dark stuff alot too. I think with the right director, they could definitely do a good job.

I dunno if Anita can be converted into "screen" entertainment. I think the only way you can get the whole picture of the story and what's goin on in her head is via pages in a nice, thick book.
