Ho fun! Well let's see.
Wolfie was working at a University as a psychologist for a while, and D-corp would need someone capeble of understanding a lion as well as handling the laziness psychologically and being able to control him psychologically when Caden gets older because there's no way someone could psysically overpower him. And the person needs to be female because young lions will instintively fear older males, then be extremely agressive towards them once they get a little bigger. Wolfie's already lived through abuse and studied more psychological problems and done more psychological manipulation than most people have even heard of. Plus, her family is a bunch of Rangers, so she's a pretty tough cookie and can handle a lion without either getting scared of him or getting frustrated and trying to whip him into obediance with force. They told her he was a new "patient" that required constant care and a family enviroment.
For Dmitri (questing Llyra the Offshore Orca), its because they knew the orca would want to wander off into the open ocean, and possibly not come back, so they needed someone who was a little paranoid and would keep her reigned in. He's a retired soldier, so he'd be able to handle any accidental injuries, and has already proven himself a loving father with his previous daughter, who drowned. For him, a D-tech could have shown up at his door and held out a photo and he would have followed.

I don't have a clue how D-Corp found/persuaded my character into taking Fleur, so here goes~
Dr. Stevie Schlotkin is a programmer and roboticist. She mostly creates household robots for cleaning, cooking, and more simple tasks, but occassionally she will create a bodyguard-type robot. She's hyperactive and addicted to Dr. Pepper (seriously - she has to have at least one 2-litre a day or she stops functioning and goes catatonic). She's very loving to her creations but has never been interested in getting married nor having any organic "children" beyond her lone cat.

Okay, lesse, one day Mel's out of the house with Mereneth, a very playful pyro tod. This little guy loves settting things on fire and stuff. So he accidentally set a tech's coat(who was out roaming or something) on fire and when Melody (yessu, she's a fire mage) tries to help but unfortunately makes it worse because she's distracted with...stuff.
In the end she does manage to put it out, by pushing him into a fountain. She apologises for it and offers to mend his coat. Now in the tech's obviously twisted mind, he's angry and scheming already. So he says okay, and gives her the D-Corp number to call when she's done with it. When she does, they ask her to come over and decide to give Alora to her as a "nice" gift in return.
xDDD
Edit: Oh yeah, and they gave her the dove cause when they checked up and her, they found that she was working with kids and quite good with them, and therefore would be able to handle Alora, as a bird, probable desirre for independence.
Plus Alora didn't like the techs and kept scratching them, so they they'd just throw her to Mel.

HI I LIED ABOUT NOVEMBER. Tara_Nepion I'm a little..unsatisfied with my character's reasoning for being with D-corp. Tara's an illegal alien (literally). She keeps an illusion around her all the time and even her best friends here don't know. She's here studying something or other (not a clue yet) and would get in major hot water if she was found out. D-corp (naturally) finds out and basically comes and says, "Show up here or we tell everyone about you." Figuring it's easier to go along with them than to deny it and deal with the flak from her 'funders'. Show's up. So on and so forth... Seems to be fine as it is, but... lesse... Iunno how we can expand this. XD Perhaps relate it to the gaia plot as well? D-corp could have been purpously looking for an alien, by filtering through cases of injury or weird mishaps that then had weird loose ends. Like say someone got caught inbetween a gang shoot out just by bad timing, but then had no reports of visiting the hospital for said wound. Things like that. After finding a few of those, they came and hunted her down. Why find an alien would be because they're viewed as a "superior" race to humans, and perhaps they became curious to see if the child would come out any more "superior" being raised by someone like that rather than the other children. :3 Also depending on the kid thigns change. like Bree got Simon because they felt she could handle his attitude and sharkyissues. The Nozomi Well... For Rapier! She's getting Cleo and she's an ex-slave trader. I was thinking that D-corp, seeing a rather carefree and cheerful girl like Cleo, could ponder who they would trust to NOT make the girl a simpering little prat. Enter Rapier. Decent with kids and not a bad person, but holds very little regaurd for human(oid) life. So another mini-experiment to see how much a not-quite-human person with a serious past could change a child? Sounds good too. D-corp is training them to become "fighters" in a sense. The fluffy happy go lucky children without a backbone are really useless to them, but sometimes the skills are useful. So to compromise they stick them in a more "tough" home. As for vice versa, they do the same to children that would misbehaive too much and tend to be out of control by putting them with people that would hadnle the out of controlness. Indubitably Well, considering we already discussed this, I'm simply posting it here for archiving purposes, and for feedback.
Tyven was the result of an experiment taken a step too far. Seeking to make a rather violent fighting D-corp, the lab tech took Indigo Snake DNA, and tried to give it human legs, having the tail split into two. Whereas this worked, it unfortunately minimized some of the animal characteristics within the child, and she ended up with a few more human attributes than expected.
So, now to find a caretaker that wouldn't mind the possessiveness, violent tendancies, and odd appearance.
Enter Nijemi Reever, a person D-corp would only find out about when seeking out ways to blackmail Rapier, the guardian of Cleo. Rapier is an ex-slaver with a dark past, and not-so-nice behavior, yet Jem, with her sparkling cheerfulness, doesn't seem to mind. Seems to calm Rapier.
Jem needs no threats to arrive at D-corp, rather, her curiousity would pull her there at the mention of the place. And unlike a lot of people, she finds dangerous things with fangs adorable. Not to mention purple is her favorite color.
Plus, a creature like Tyven might to well with a more helpless sister, and two parents. Spending her time protecting Cleo would stop her from senselessly fighting.
The experiment already took place for this girl, now they're just trying to deal with the result. Yepyep. S'all good. XD Coronaviridae Jenner didn't actually need much leaning on. D-Corp would have found her through her criminal record. It's relatively benign--at least, the stuff she's been caught for--as she's mostly a thief and a fence for stolen goods, rather than an armed robber or a murderer. She's also a dragon-aspected faceless demon, very strong in magic, and with a natural affinity for other draconic species. She doesn't hide this part of her life, so it's not unlikely that D-Corp would have found her through her criminal record, then found out about that part, and gone "HAY GUYS I'VE GOT AN IDEA". While Jenner's a bit grouchy and lazy and not the most moral person ever, she is a good mother and loves kids, so just mentioning Indigo would've been enough to get her interested. Now, when Coronaviridae walked into the Wastes behind her house and her blood-bond to Jenner snapped, Jenner fell into what's essentially a state of coma. (For the time being, oh ho ho.) Out of obligation and immense guilt, Cee took over raising Indigo (who now sort of hates her, oops), so D-Corp would know she's already up to handling a kid and a dragon. However, Cee would be IMMENSELY RELUCTANT to add another child to her household, since she has several kids (see: Albedo the Mozou) who already have jealousy issues, not to mention she still feels really horrible about how Indigo came into her care. So D-Corp could exploit that guilt to blackmail her (possibly by holding out continued medical care for Jenner, both to Cee and Indigo), OR they could dig into her history and find out that she's been involved in the very...skeezy...aspects of the bioengineering and genetic modification fields. So that's how she'd end up with Gallia. ...Which I'll be doing in more detail with my entry to the concept contest, oh ho. 8D Just figured I'd put it here. Seems fine by me. :3 I doubt they'd actually discontinue medical to one of the people that they chose as a guardian, they're very partial to them, infact they're more likely to spend alittle money to help parents out under the table sort of thing. Take a few bucks off the bill if they find out it's goign to be too much without the parent knowing and the like, to insure their project's best results. But they wouldn't be opposed to bluffing. XD Sometimes they bluff just to get people to do things, no evidence what soever but if you play it right you can be all "I know what you did. :3" "You know about XYZ?!" "Yep... (we do now hehe >3)" XD However they might not do this in order to keep on the good side of their student. A happy subject is a hard working subject. >o> Nikiana Niki's doing illegal research in producing a genetic dragon-human child in her own house (never enter the basement, it's for your own good). D-corp found out somehow (they know everything) and threatened to reveal what she's been doing unless she takes in a child. So, basically, Niki's doing some of the work that D-corp is, but just using a dragon instead of an animal. I figure they'd find it funny to give her a kid who's going to get a real dragon, as the reason Niki's doing her work is to try and produce a tamer form of a dragon (it didn't work, hence the reason to stay out of the basement...). And Peri gets Nibal because Alan's ticked. End of story. xd Har. <33 As for how Dcorp could find out, I beleive they could get records on all illegal transportation of dragons, they have a good source. (Hi Blade.) Niki would have to get the dragon DNA from somewhere, and as such Blade would probably be first step on the track to getting that. XD And he was never opposed to ninjaing D-corps things. If he deemed her worthy of dragons, he'd easily supply that. That was how he was hired to D-corp. >o> Illegal possession of dangerous dragons and trades. XD and haha peri... sux2bu CatCry Ho fun! He's a retired soldier, so he'd be able to handle any accidental injuries, and has already proven himself a loving father with his previous daughter, who drowned. For him, a D-tech could have shown up at his door and held out a photo and he would have followed. I think that fits wonderfully. XD And it's a pretty easy track, considering most psychologists need to be listed atleast somewhere to get buisness. Also, Kat was a psychology major, and spent many years in the university because she could never get a job. She's also very social, and probably remembered Wolfie from one of her classes and suggested her due to some of the ranger facts and whatnot. :3 aw. Sad ;o; I could definatly see them wanting to find someone to keep a close eye for that reason, so a search in records of drownings would pinpoint someone with a child that died that way, and naturally they'd assume the parent would be much more wary of water-issues. Then it would just be a matter of figuring out who was the most capable of the canidates and vwala. Taerar Licorne I don't have a clue how D-Corp found/persuaded my character into taking Fleur, so here goes~ Dr. Stevie Schlotkin is a programmer and roboticist. She mostly creates household robots for cleaning, cooking, and more simple tasks, but occassionally she will create a bodyguard-type robot. She's very loving to her creations but has never been interested in getting married nor having any organic "children" beyond her lone cat. Hm... Perhaps with Fleur's special abilities, they wanted someone who could handle odd smells, and Stevie who works around oils and metals all day would be assumed to have a lessened sense of smell. XD and maybe they even thought she could make a robot companion for the little boy to produce tomato soup baths for people or something of the like. XD Another note, is perhaps they wanted to see if she'd be an eligable canidate for working at D-corp, robotic engeneirs don't grow on trees, and by planting a child in her care they could slowly edge their way into her works and eventually when Fleur was older drop some things like "Hey, do you know how we could make X do Y? Thanks!""Hey do you think you could make us a program that does this...?" ectect. XD melodymh4 Okay, lesse, one day Mel's out of the house with Mereneth, a very playful pyro tod. Plus Alora didn't like the techs and kept scratching them, so they they'd just throw her to Mel. Hm. Most of the time the techs don't leave D-corp, but if we wanted to streach it we could say one was headed out to bribe another person into taking the child. Then, out of nowhere, their ploys were deterred by a certain little pyro child and thus previously said chaos would ensue. Then, losing their canidate for parenthood, the tech would not only be annoid that he got lit on fire but also be close to losing his job. So, in an attempt to make sure to cover his back, he would then trick her into coming to D-corp and thus she'd be the new replacement parent to the one he lost. XD

Lewis' parent is an alien, a Zurg. Yes, I made a character related to a Gaia holiday event, shut up. ;-; Anyway, that's the reason why I say that D-Corp picked Bug was because they wanted to see how a child rasied by an alien would differ than one raised by one native to Gaia. See, Bug just got to Gaia, so he knows almost nothing of customs or...illegal actions. That's another reason they picked Bug. He has no idea what D-Corp is doing is illegal. 8DDDD
Edit: OH, FORGOT TO SAY. Bug didn't just automatically say "HEY, I TAKE 'FRO KID! 8D" At first, he was resistant, as of course he didn't want to raise some peon child. So he contacted his superiors (Mother and a number of other higher ups) to try and persuade them to "deal" with D-Corp. They said no and ordered Bug to raise the child anyway, as they felt it would be a great research opportunity, raising a child on Gaia. Also, the aliens are now more curious about a certain D-Corp... ninja
No, I haven't written any of this down yet, but I have it planned. In my mind. >__>;

For Lian! She was not, obviously, the first choice for Lian. Sciz was. But as Sciz abanoned their children, the kids had to be split up. Dagger is VERY unlike her twin sister, Rapier, in fact they are total opposites. Wild, carefree, funloving. Lian, after loosing his siblings and father, was/is understandably emo.
Enter a woman who is always happy, smothers people in her breasts and regaurds death and being abandoned as a part of life, with a lover who is cynical and a 'realist' and another lover who lets things roll off him. A unique blend of three different mourning methods.
She's also related to the gaurdian of another child. COntrast.

Raven's actually the creation of a bunch of scientists. She and her two sisters, Winter and Arch, are actually parts of one being, split into three separate parts. So... I figure she was approached by scientists and, although she doesn't like it, it makes her more than a little uncomfortable, she'll go along with it. 'Cause she relates herself to the D-corp kids.

Kimiko dabbles in alchemy, part of it... forbidden research (coff human s'perimentation coff). And forbidden research is obviously illegal.
Now, Kimiko has had experience in raising children, as well as taking care of people older than herself. And in large numbers, as well.
D-corp blackmails her into taking Joliet, and she readily accepts because a) she doesn't want to get arrested, and b) little kids make her heart melt. She also has adequate house space to flood a room or make a nice enough habitat for Joli.
That's about it~ I keep having the notion that something can be added onto this, but I can't think of anything else for the moment.

For Thagos (questyquesty)!
I was going to stick him with Stevie, but instead I'm going to stick him with Metal.
Metal is an android made by a former colleague of Stevie's whose creator was much more...unpleasant than Stevie. Metal was supposed to be a combat robot who instead ended up better at cooking and cleaning, and his creator was so angry with the failure, he became abusive trusting that Metal would never retaliate because he was his creator. To make a long story short, Metal ended up killing his creator and then running into hiding to avoid being deactivated/melted down for murder. The thing is he dumpster dives in Aekea to stay alive (food being a necessary form of energy rather than just plugging himself into an outlet), so it's not like he could afford to take care of himself and a tamandua kid, and he's already killed one human - if he feels cornered, he'll do it again.
How did D-Corp find him, and how would they handle grabbing him (since he'd run like all hell or fight back on instinct seeing any humans coming too close to him) and persuading him into raising Thagos? "We'll give you food/shelter and won't turn you in for deactivation if you raise this freak for us?"

For Storm/Maelstrom (moar questy? lawls)
Uh, Marshe Morrissey is a nervous college professor and he leads a rather normal life but he was always kind of a loser and a nerd but since d-corp is all knowing, they've noticed he was random SPD (split personality disorder) at random times that don't seem to be triggered by anything. Now perytons are supposed to be two-faced (kinda SPD themselves lols) so it'd be like putting two of the same things together and seeing what kind of kaboom happens. |D marshe actually hurt a girl once though and she pressed charges but it was years ago so if dcorp brings it to his seniors at the college, his life + job goes kaboom as well!

I'd say something along the lines of the last one... if he was approached by a tech, and run off, Alan might try to approach him by himself. Since he is, afterall, a product of many experiments too (his spine is a work in progress replacement afterall... part of it was anyways, now the rest is paralized. XD failcakes.) And he's also bound to a wheelchair... not all that threatning... and he iiiis a nice guy amidst all the spooky looks. >>; he'd probably feel bad for him too, if he learned anything about that history, perhaps offer him work in the kitchen since... the menial tasks like cleaning out the dragon pin and cooking aren't strict to human DNA (equal opportunity laws? >3> ) So food, a fun* job, and shelter and take in the kid... No one there would really cre about his history... theres some fairly bad ones as it is~ one of the top guard-techs worked in the mafia |D Nevvie For Storm/Maelstrom (moar questy? lawls) Uh, Marshe Morrissey is a nervous college professor and he leads a rather normal life but he was always kind of a loser and a nerd but since d-corp is all knowing, they've noticed he was random SPD (split personality disorder) at random times that don't seem to be triggered by anything. Basically something to search for... a quick check on his life now, which is apparently normal and well... so bam~ they bring the kid to him...usually their first approach is all "This kid could undergo some of the problems you've faced, therefore we chose you because you can offer your experiences and help the kid" but if that fails it turns into "well we could also mention this to your school... c:" xD

Ephesians, Autumnus = Simi Twins
Millie= Baby
Paulette= Nanny
Morissette= use to be a lolly pop , now is like a roommate
Jade= Is my house planner/ Assistant
Grazz and Libby are creatures who work in the garden! _____________
Gabriel was in the shower when he heard the phone ring. "Paulette can you get that" Gabriel shouted. He started to wash his body and did bathing like stuff when he heard a knock on the door. "Dad it’s for you" it sounded like Ephesians voice. He still needed to put face cream on , but he could skip that for today. He quickly got out of the shower and put a towel on. He walked down the hallway through the kitchen and into the living room. He picked up the phone and held it to his ear. He looked through the window and saw his boys , Libby , and Grazz in the garden like normal. Paulette and Jade were chatting in the kitchen. Morissette was on the computer looking up music. Life at the Night house seemed pretty normal.
He could hear some people chatting on the phone , then a cough the voice got much deeper and serious. "Hello Mr.Night are you there" Gabriel had forgotten to say hello to engage the conversation. "O my gosh , yes I am sorry" a pause happened "who is this" Gabriel asked. "I am representing an adoption agency, You have been selected to care for a speaical set of twins".
Gabriel heart sank in his chest , and listened to the (Man or Women) talk. He found out that he was selected because the girl twin had aspergers and needed speaical care. Since Gabriel worked in a day care center he had been trained in many areas and aspergers was one of his specialties. They touched on the Gaia news segment done during the olympics. Though a bit frightened by the details he said yes and oked to pick them up as soon as lunch.

Gabe- Looks like a good idea! I would change one thing though, is that having a diagnosis at that age is... essentially impossible. Around child would be a better stage to get an accurate diagnosis, pre-teen would be even better! Having misdiagnoses happen alot in AS. A woman I know, ADHD was the first thing that was diagnosed... which only made everything worse, because ADHD is a "Just do it cause i said so." rather than explaining things... the poor AS kid only got worse because with AS its so logical that you NEED to know why. xD
So... for the call, I'd say you're on the right track. You'd be better off with "Some sort of developmental disorder and needs special care" which is easy to tell just by various milestones in a childs behavior. But it could be anything from Autism to dyslexia. It also gives you more leeway when deciding her level of functioning... if she were to be diagnosable at this age, she'd be closer to autism itself, and "low functioning".
So yeah~ he can have his suspicions but at that age its just yanno "I think its such and such but we're not sure yet..."
Does that help? <3

Alrightu, for Yourie, she has been in Gaia before when she was younger.
She helped smuggle a fugitive from her world into Gaia at that time, and has been secretly helping her friend ever since. If D-Corp did a little research, her name has been used not only for the house her friend is staying in, but a little...ahem, illegal activities as well. So they check up, find out she's helping Mel take care of Alora (Has experience yay!) so they decide to chuck Liang at her?
And of course she wouldn't want anyone to know, so she would agree. She would be in bigggg trouble if anyone found out.P:

Naturally I picked the one character that's completely and totally shameless. Throwing any sort of blackmail directly at her probably wouldn't do anything but make her laugh and go "Okay, sure, and?" because Crescentia really has nothing to hide.
The one thing she has to hide though is her closeness with Riley who's already been blackmailed because of her. XD And personally she wouldn't care if the world knew she adores him but that would make trouble for Riley...so basically that's all that would make her think twice (But she loves kids anyway so she'd gladly take on Madison, the girl I'm questing for, with or without being given no other choice): Tell Riley's superiors he's fraternizing with a gypsy and thus make his life miserable and it's all her fault! Ooooh~! :o
They could show up when she's dancing for the public with some of her family members and be like "HI YOU HAVE KID NOW OR ELSE, 'KAY?" pressure of family being there could keep her from freaking out~
