Elle wrapped an arm around Luna, hugging her close. It made her sad too, but she wasn't quite as badly affected as Luna was. She made a mental note to think about why that was... later.
She held up the popcorn to Luna as an offering.

Elle shook her head. "Not yet, but I probably will soon."
She glanced around, wondering if anyone else was hope. Elle hadn't seen anyone else in Luna's family... not for a long time, anyway.

Jo's in his room; he said he'll leave us to our girl talk tonight. And Ma went out. She trusts us.

"Oh, all right." Elle grinned, the image of Luna having twentybazzilion...well, okay, maybe 20 people around for beer and American PIe style roudiness...
Well, that just wasn't an image you could place Luna in.
Elle hugged Luna with one arm and went back to concentrating on the movie.

Elle had to be careful what she thought around Luna. Next thing she'd know, she'd be corrupting Luna with memories of movies!

Luna nodded slowly, wiping her eyes with the back of one hand... and realizing a bit too late that she'd forgotten to remove her makeup.
"Kyaa!" She nearly shrieked, bolting upright. At this point, she looked like a melting raccoon, with trails of black makeup streaming down her face and covering up the swirls she normally wore on her cheeks.
Oops.

Elle looked sideways, and blinked at the mess tha had become Luna's face. For a fleeting second she thought it was ...was some sort of black rash or something and asked,"What happened?"
A few seconds later she reconized it, and laughed. "Oooh... I see. Need tissues?"

Luna paused, staring at her stained hand, and then back at Elle. Within seconds, a small smile spread across her face, and she allowed herself a weak giggle, and then a stronger one, until finally, she was laughing with Elle.
I... think I should wash my face. Finish the movie. I've seen it ten times already.

"Okay, if you're sure?" Elle did want to see how this movie ended... but she didn't want to leave Luna and be rude. Or something.

"Okay." Elle settled back into the couch, letting her mind and thoughts be absorbed by the movie once more.

It was quite some time before Luna emerged, sans makeup this time. She didn't know if she looked as strange as she felt without the familiar Porcelain swirls on her cheeks, but this was a sleepover. And that meant that the makeup would've eventually had to come off anyway.
Did I miss the end? She asked tentatively, poking her head out of the doorway.

Elle glanced up, wiping at the wetness around her eyes, and nodded. She wasn't affected by the movie. She was affected by hayfever. Somehow.
"Yea, you did." She replied, while trying to not stare. Luna looked different without her makeup, different but the same.
