Hebrews 3:18
The King James Version

Let the young rain of tears come,
Let the calm hands of grief come,
It's not all as evil as you think.

Rolf Jacobsen

The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 15:4

God really promises, "do not fear, for I am with you." But it can be nearly impossible for a hurting person to believe this until someone comes along side to "make God visible."

God doesn't leave, He lingers. His greatest joy is to extend and expand the moments of encounters. Sunday morning kisses are not enough!

Tommy Tenney

There is so much pain in this music. Beethoven was practically deaf. He was in the decline of his life and yet he could still create this. Part of what comes along with a long life is a flood of memories that is at times unstoppable. At these times all the heartbreak that has always been just under the surface is woven together with all the thankfulness for a joyous life, like a beautiful and complex symphony. It helps remind us of the most miraculous gift of all from G-d, the gift of life.

Rabbi Haskel Besser

"For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16
The Revised Standard Version

The will of God is never exactly what you expect it to be. It may seem to be much worse, but in the end it's going to be a lot better and a lot bigger.

Elisabeth Elliot

The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time; and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

Psalm 37:18-19
The King James Version

OMW, this was SUCH a good idea. I absolutely love reading quotes. I collect them, in fact. Thanks a ton, Ezeikial, for posting these. I have a few to share, too. In fact I have about 46 pages of sayings and poems that I've collected over the past 2 or 3 years that I've saved in Word. I also have a quotes journal. (Btw, the ones that don't have a name underneath them are quotes/poems that I didn't originally have the author for. So you can just insert "Unknown" as the person who came up with it.) So here's a few:

~I asked for a flower, He gave me a garden; I asked for a tree, He gave me a forest; I asked for a pond, He gave me an ocean; I asked for a friend, He gave me you.

~ In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.

~There was once a little child living every day, expecting tomorrow to be different from today.

~ You must have both sunshine and rain to have a rainbow.

~ At the heart of the cyclone tearing the sky
And flinging the clouds and towers by,
Is a place of central calm;
So here in the roar of mortal things,
There is a place where my spirit sings:
In the hollow of God's palm.
-Place of Peace by Edward Markham

~ You never lose by loving. You always lose by holding back.
-Babara DeAngelis

~ The mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death.

~ Write your plans in pencil, but give God the eraser.

~ Trust God's authority, not man's majority.

~ Submission to God's will is the softest pillow upon which one can rest.

~ Prayer is not asking; it's a longing of the soul.
-Mahatma Gandhi

~Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow.

~When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.
-Henry Ford

~ Forgiveness is the oil of relationships.
-Josh McDowell

OK, that's about all I'm going to post right now. I love y'all. Have a great rest of the week. Hope these can help some of y'all. As always, I'm here for you.

heres another batch......

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee; turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Joshua 1:6-8
The King James Version

A lot of the road to heaven has to be taken at thirty miles per hour.

Evelyn Underhill

Joy is the echo of God's life within us.

Joseph Marmion

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rusts consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:19-21
The Revised Standard Version

"Change is possible and I definitely want to be a part of that. We always make it a point to talk to people outside after the shows, and I recently had a kid come up to me and give me a big hug because he was so affected by "Dare You To Move" (from The Beautiful Letdown). Apparently, he was going through some really rough times and wasn't sure if he wanted to live anymore, but heard the song and was inspired. That's incredible. On days when you're wondering what you're doing playing a show in some small town in the middle of nowhere, you think about moments like that and realize that you're part of a bigger story than your own."

The chief pang of most trials is not so much the actural suffering itself as our own spirit of resistance to it.

Jean Grou

A man's conscience is the Lord's searchlight exposing his hidden motives.

Proverbs 20:27
The Living Bible

You need not cry very loud; He is nearer to us than we think.

Brother Lawrence

Stewardship is not a classroom exercise in fractions. It is a homework assignment in total living.

Kenneth Wilson

Do not take advantage of a hired man who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother Israelite or an alien living in one of your towns. Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it. Otherwise he may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin.

Deuteronomy 24:14-15

"Rather as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way:
in great endurance;
in troubles, hardships and distresses;
in beatings, imprisonments and riots;
in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;
in purity, understanding, patience and kindness;
in the holy spirit and in sincere love;
in truthful speech and in the power of God;
with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
through glory and dishonor,
bad report and good report;
genuine, yet regarded as impostors;
known, yet regarded as unknown;
dying, and yet we live on;
beaten, and yet not killed;
sorrowful, yet always rejoicing;
poor, yet making many rich;
having nothing, and yet possesing everything.
-2 Corinthians 6:4-10

3nodding One of my favorite verses in the bible, especially the part about sincere love. Not just love, like the world's selfish love, but sincere, Godly love, the best kind. blaugh

great verse, as many of you know Romans 8:38&39 are my favourites.

I recieved this scripture from the lord last night and it really spoke to me in my time of need. i hope you remember this one for yours:
John 3:15&16--[15]That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16]For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
