Ausi raised a brow as Ai began to clean her neck, but found it much too cute. Maybe mommy needed to take a bath when they got to the watering hole. It could give Ai good practice so that he'd be able to clean himself later on, when he wouldn't be so disgruntled by the idea of bathing. She eventually began to hum, the watering hole coming into sight not long after.

Not that he complained too badly about it now, he just didn't like it. That was all. However, the cleaning came to a pause as he looked over the top of his mother's head again, spotting their destination, before realizing;
Quick! Look around and see what you can remember!
He looked about, ears perked up, to see what other landforms he could see, besides the trees he remembered, looking back behind him to see what stuck out at him, before nodding firmly.Alright, so he had a couple of rocky shapes, and a point of view of pride rock.
Now all he had to do was remember it.
Looking back to what he had been doing, he leaned over the top of Ausi's head to look down at his mother. "Wow! We're a ways out here, aren't we, mommy?"

"Oh yes, quite a ways. It's easy to get lost since you can't quite see over the grasses yet, so I want you to make sure you don't come out here alone until you're old enough and we say it's okay, alright?" She requested in that tone that all mother's seemed to have naturally embedded somewhere in their system. She slowed as she reached the edge of the grass and parted it with her form, glancing about to see if anyone was sharing the watering hole with them that early dawn.
As most mother's went, Ausi'juu tended to enjoy letting her kids freely enjoy. She was rather laid back, but always particularly watchful. Loosing her first sons had taken a toll on her, and without realizing it she seemed to have become particularly mothering over the boys, though with how much she adored each of her little individuals, you couldn't tell at a glance. Ai's energetic spirit, Jing's protective dedication, No's big and grand dreams (not at all different from Ausi's granddaughter, who once had dreams of being a renound hero herself,), Xu, their little star, and their princess, Choa... They were all so diverse but still very close for a litter of five. Ausi couldn't have possibly asked for more.
She let Ai off away from the water and settled onto her haunches, giving one final set of instructions as her eyes rested on his tiny black form, smiling.
"Don't go in past your chest if you want to play in the water, and watch your step, it might be slippery."

Listening intently as his mother spoke, Ai made sure to catch every word he could, ears perked up with great interest. Ooooh. Mommy made a good point. Looking at the grasses in a sort of jealous manner, Ai internally taunted them; Look out, I'm gonna be bigger then you are someday, and then you'll be sorry for trying to make me get lost out here!
Falling clumsily off the ground when mommy allowed him to walk on his own again, Ai rolled a bit in the dirt, smudging it on his lovely white mask, before he popped back up again, standing up and staring at Ausi as she spoke, tail wagging a bit.
Once his instructions were rolled out for him to understand, the little black cub nodded firmly, before turning from his mother and running off, paws moving awkwardly, to go jump into the water, laughing as he did so.
Ai only got about belly deep in the water, however, before he looked back at his mother, cocking his head to the side in a rather inquisitive manner. "What happens if I go out farther, mommy?"
It wasn't that he was -going- to, he was just.. curious.

"You might fall in too deep. It's like with the grasses, but you can't breathe underwater. I don't want you to get hurt." Ausi replied calmly, slowly easing down to lie on her stomach with one paw tucked in to her chest and the other giving her balance as she watched her little one explore.

"Oh."
A little voice in Ai's head bapped him and went 'DUHR' at this, since it was obvious he should have known that. He'd tried to breathe water once, and he'd just sat there coughing and sneezing for a while to get it out of his system (and been laughed at in the process...).
So he determined that would probably be a REALLY bad idea. So he wouldn't, just to keep anything bad from happening.
Bounding about through the water, he splashed rocks, staring at the patterns the water would make with a dorky look on his face, then running to find another rock to do it again.
Soon, however, he grew tired of playing all by himself, and ran back to pounce on his mother. "Mommy! Come play with me!"
