She took a few more bites of the salad and then she was done. There was still plenty left on the plate, but Maryke had always been a light eater. At Cass' statement and blushing the madame couldn't help but giggle slightly. "No, it's not wierd at all. I wouldn't have any pet that wasn't furry or didn't come with a few cute sweaters, but I don't think it's wierd at all. Besides..." she said giving off a light shrug. "It fits..."

At the next words she smiled. "Who doesn't love a good story.."

Sweaters on dogs was something Cass had never really understood. Little dogs in general were a little weird for her. "I guess it does. We'll match and everything." She shook her head. "I don't even like snakes. I'm trying to get used to them. I think I should."

She shifted a little, and took another sip. "But I really don't want to talk your ear off. It's nothing interesting."

"Well, I haven't been around many, but for the most part they're okay. They're quite popular with models these days," she nodded. "I'm sure you'll get used to 'em. They don't do much except slither and..." Maryke grinned and flicked out her tongue a few times to demontrate.

"I don't mind," she said giving a quick nod. "But if you have somewhere to be then that's fine."

Cass laughed, and flicked her own tongue out to demonstrate. "Oh, I know. I know."

And just as suddenly, she looked a bit shamefaced; her feathers fluffed. "I'm sorry. I try not to do that in front of people. I think it bothers a lot of them." She shifted a little, starting to uncoil. "I'm not in any hurry. I rarely am these days. Where would I hurry to?" Cass grinned, rather self-depreciating, and shrugged vaguely. "But I can let you finish your lunch, if you'd like." She gestured to Maryke's unfinished salad.

"Hey now," Maryke said quickly, leaning forward and giving Cass a pat on her shoulder, ignoring the scaly texture alltogether. "That doesn't bother me, in fact...I actually think the tongue flicking is kinda cool. And the turning into an Aztec God...or in your case goddess," she smirked bad props. Yes, underneath that highrise somewhat bitchy exterior the madame actually did have a heart.

Maryke nodded at the next phrases, already guessing there wouldn't be a lot to occupy a giant snake woman's time. "Like I said, I really don't mind and my lunch," she shrugged, "M'already full."

Cass grinned. "'Goddess' may be going a bit far. But thank you." The pat on the shoulder lifted her from her self-pitying more than she might have expected.

She did, however, peer curiously at Maryke's lunch. She couldn't imagine eating so little... at least not when she was warm-blooded. Maybe this was why she'd always had those extra pounds. "If you say so. My stomach would have been growling after just that." She shrugged. "But to each her own, I guess."

Maryke passed off the goddess comment, it was nice to see a modest woman, but sometimes a little self esteem went a long way. Or perhaps it was just cockiness to the madame. Who knew.

She chuckled softly, "I've never been a heavy eater. God help me if I change into something that required a large diet. I don't know how I'd surive."

Cass shrugged. "Well, hopefully that won't be an issue," she said, rather cautiously. "I guess it's all relative, and habits die hard... if you had sometime like, um, a hippo serum, you'd probably end up being a really skinny hippo just because of habit. Does that make sense?" She shook her head. "I don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe I should just get these," she waggled the bag of mice, "over to their proper owner."

Maryke listened to the snake woman's words and then nodded. "It does actually, I suppose whatever animal I do turn into...." she blanched, "If it comes to that....will probably be the most high maintenance animal ever."

She nodded Cass off and stood herself, tray in hand. "I should get going too, now that I've eaten I should head back to my duplex, work it all off," she added in jest. "See you around and tell your snake I said hi!"

"All right, I will." Cass grinned, uncoiling herself the rest of the way. "I'm sure it... he... she... oh god, I don't even know... well, it'll appreciate the gesture, I'm sure. Take care of yourself."

She waved as she headed towards the door.
