the leela Hello, folks... I have always been hesitant to join a martial arts guild, but hey, I've been doing it for 10 of my 15 years of life, so I guess it'll be fun to discuss. Me too! What your style?

Me too! What your style? I'd hate to refer to it as a style... more like a way of life... Shorinji Kempo. It's very... functional. The World Shorinji Kempo Organization (WSKO) holds many, many branches that all have the same techniques and lectures. To make sure everyone is 'up to snuff,' dan tests (written (philosophy) and physical) are taken at a seperate branch (sometimes in a different country!) and graded by multiple sensei. Eh... Here is the official website. And any class who steals the name is sued up the a**.

Hello!
I'm really a beginner in the martial arts, having taken Northern Shaolin Kungfu for about a year. And that's really all I can say about myself, for now.. I'm just that boring. =P
Cheers!

welcome aboard guys. I just inducted 4 new members today so hopefully, they'll come around and post their welcome message.
feel free to ask any questions you like or just post whatever you feel like in regards to martial arts. this is a really open guild...and we'll usually warn you first if something bad happens, but we don't expect to have to go there. biggrin
anyhow some of our members are pretty damned knowledgeable..and if not, we got the resources to find the answers you're looking for. so yeah, look around and what not.

Toyomo An Hey all.I was hoping there was a amrtial arts guild on here.I've been doing Taekwondo for nearly 10 years, in november. And i'll be 15 in october. *Bows respectively.* Thats very impressive. I've only been doing for a couple more years than you and it's kinda hard to find another with so much experience. Have you been allowed to work with weapons, or do you just do the self defense part?

Hiya everybody, just joined the guild. Tis well cool, loads of styles represented on here! I've been doin taekwondo for about four years now, got to first degree about six months ago (yay, me black belt is still all shiny an new smile ) and since then I've been takin a class of my own. Haven't done any weapons, my intructor keeps sayin we're gona be doin some staff, nunchuku and maybe sword but it hasn't happened so far.. sad Done quite a bit of grappling, pressure points and limb destruction which isn't strictly TKD I'm really keen on expanding my knowledge a bit an starting another martial art aswell, I'm kinda leaning towards some form of kungfu or ninjitsu but its hard finding the time when you teach twice a week and train twice a week, the rest of the time I like to work on my beer consumption skills... biggrin

Hey all! Happy to see a respectable martial arts guild, and even happier to join it! eek
Anyway... I'm around. PM me if you absolutely need to know more.
Or to talk. I'm a lonely person. (:
Sometimes.

Hello all. I'm so happy to join. I've been doing Hapkido in my senior year of high school (i didn't know a martial arts class existed in that school). Currently am looking for a place to continue it. I really like that style. Since then I've been doing Philipino stick fighting and and another style which escapes me at the moment sweatdrop .
