Don't know if this is really a rant... I'll delete it if it isn't considered one.
Let me start of by saying that Education is the best protection any teen or adult could have. I don't believe we can go around and tell young people "NO" and then expect them to listen. They will still go out and do it, but with less chance of using protection or understanding the consequences. However, if we educate them (and ourselves) on the matter it is at least possible for that infomation to stay in their heads and encourage them to use protection. So why not try?
Like many other's in this guild, I am totally against having sex at a young age. But if they are going to do it, I'd feel a bit better if I knew they understood right from wrong; and that they knew what they were doing was wrong. (I probably cringe as much as anyone else when I hear of a 13 year old having sex.. geh.) I am not a huge fan of waiting for marriage, for many reasons. (Your husband/wife, might not always be the right person. Ever hear of short lived marriages?) But, I do believe in waiting for the right person or at least holding off until after highschool and being PROTECTED. I don't think I could stress that enough.
I guess, I should also say that I am pro-choice. Just because I would go through with having a child, doesn't mean anyone else should have to. As long as the female is Educated on the situation, that is all that matters.
--- So, I guess inconclusion or in short... If you are Educated, use that education and stay protected at all times.. i love you.

PROBABLY BECAUSE THROUGHOUT ALL OF HISTORY, THAT'S SIMPLY HUMAN NATURE. WE'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO IMPRESS OTHERS. THINK OF IT LIKE HOW PEACOCKS HAVE A BEAUTIFUL PLUME TO ATTRACT A MATE - HUMANS DO IT THE SAME WAY FOR FUTURE SPOUSES AND POTENTIAL FRIENDS.
ARE YOU MORE OR LESS LIKELY TO WALK UP TO A 'BEAUTIFUL' PERSON AND SAY HELLO, OR A REALLY FREAKING UGLY PERSON?
IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE HONEST, YOU'D BE MORE INCLINED TO WALK TOWARDS THE BEAUTIFUL PERSON. IT'S JUST HOW PEOPLE ARE.
ON A SIDE NOTE, I PLAY WITH MY HAIR A LOT BECAUSE I GROW IT OUT IN THE WINTER, THEN CUT IT SHORT AND DONATE IT TO LOCKS OF LOVE FOR THE SUMMER biggrin

Ugh. I just started on the Pill and so I'm getting a really prolonged period and so I feel lousy.
However, I'll add to that personal rant by saying I love my mother because I was able to talk to her about birth control. I can't believe how many of my friends won't talk to their own mothers about anything and would rather risk pregnancy and STDs than buy a packet of condoms, and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of teenagers.

Yeah, especially since it's possible for one to buy a pack of condoms and their parents still wouldn't have to find out. whee My parents don't know I'm on birth control, but I've meant for things to be that way, and they're not finding out until after I'm 19. xd

Nikolita Topaz_Rising_Flame My rant.... Teens who TRY and get pregnant! One of my friends decided that she wanted a baby (at only 15), so she went off her birth control, and got preggers. She is something like 29 weeks now... and thinks that everything is going to be given to her for free. Its expensive!! I havent had my baby yet and im already in debt trying to get everything that i need. (my baby wasnt planned by the way, but i still love him to bits) W..OW. eek Did her parents say anything when they found out she'd gotten herself pregnant on purpose? They still dont know she did it on purpose. Drives me up the wall... she doesnt know what she is in for! At least i have had some experience with 6 nieces and nephews, she has a baby sister... whoooopdeeedooooo. I wish her luck when she is up at 2 am because her baby wont get to sleep.

Well my rant would have to be those who generally ignore the options of birth control, like that of condoms and the hormonal type. Another thing that really gets at me are girls who think abortion is a type of birth control. I'm not saying I'm anti or pro abortion I just don't think it should be a type of birth control.
Also my rant is about "calling wolf" as in the aspect of constantly thinking you're that one person going to get pregnant just by things like kissing then insisting you are, you need a test and throw your guy, yourself and others through an emotion train wreck when you are obviously not the next virgin mary.

Neither is the morning-after pill, but I would prefer people use it instead of letting it go and not using it at all, and then ending up pregnant. smile I just don't think it should be used specifically as a constant form of birth control.

Yeah still acting like that, and now she went and got a boyfriend who doesn't seem that he will stick around if she does actually get pregnant. xp I don't think she's done it around him yet but she still has around her friends. Yeah that rant came because another friend of mine's step dad's daughter uses abortion as birth control, she's had like six and I heard yesterday she had another. stressed
