The 'Trident of Woe' did not sound to Hadrian like something anyone would want to look for, but that didn't really matter because he was faced with to much unexpected relief to really think about it. Of course, now he felt incredibly foolish, for not realising what Galatea was talking about from the begining.

He didn't quite manage, though, to keep his..."Oh!" from sounding relieved.
"Oh I thought...." And then he blushed, and laughed at the same time. "I thought you meant you were....you know leaving leaving!"

Her "oh!" was a near echo of his and she giggled, nervous again. "No, not really. For a bit, yes. But not forever."

He hugged her, suddenly, not too tightly, but impetuously - forgetting for a moment that she didn't always seem comfortable with physical contact.
It was a brief hug, and he was standing in front of her holding her hand again after a moment. "I'm glad, I really didn't want you to leave forever."

Cheeks gone absolutely scarlet, Galatea looked down at their clasped hands. "I wouldn't want to leave forever either," she whispered. "I'd miss you."

Feeling a sudden, unexplainable urge to change the subject immidiately, Hadrian asked, "Do you know where you're going to go to look for the...er...Trident?"

Quests, he found himself thinking, seemed like they tended to be dangerous. But...of course that was silly...he'd gone on quests before. Well sort of. And he'd been fine. Of course...they had also been dangerous....

Oblivious to Hadrian's new range of concern, Galatea shook her head slowly. "I am not quite sure. I know it is not here. I found mention of it in a book and then, when the Captain helped me look on the internet, I found a picture of it. It was last seen in a place called Maryland."

"Do you know where Maryland is?" Hadrian said it 'merry-land' and tilted his head to the side slightly as he spoke, "Are you going by yourself?"

"The east coast of North America." Galatea looked up from their joined hands and smiled faintly at him. "Ms. Burgundia is accompanying me. She has a quest of her own that she wishes to complete and thought it would be best if we traveled together for safety. I know she is right. My magical skills are substandard while hers are amazing. On the other hand, I am far stronger than her. I can protect her."

That seemed perfectly logical to Hadrian, so he wondered why he still felt a little worried. He'd met Burgundia and thought she seemed nice (although at the time, rather against travel, he recalled), and Galatea was certainly strong and smart and capable of taking care of herself....so he only nodded.

"When are you going to be leaving?"

For some reason, that seemed to subdue her again and she chewed on her lower lip for a moment. "I wish to leave in two days but Burgundia says she needs to do a few things first. I hope we can keep to a schedule." Her pink eyes met his look. "Adventures are important and expanding but I think I will miss home quite a bit."

"Mostly you'll be really busy thinking about other stuff, I bet." Hadrian answered, sounding as though he were speaking from experience.
After a moment of apparent thought, his face lit up, "I should give you something to take with you! For good luck!"

Her eyes went even rounder and she flushed. Clearly, his offer was something she had no idea how to deal with. "You don't have to, Hadrian," she murmured, squeezing his hand that was still linked with hers. "Just wish me the best of luck yourself."

"But I want to!" He answered, with a fair amount of enthusiasm. Clearly this was not something she had to accept, it was just something he was annoucing he was going to do.
"I'll be right back!" And so saying, he squeezed her hand and then released it to dash off to rummage around somewhere in his house. He returned, after alot of curious noises and shifting around of things, with something held hidden behind his back.
"Okay...close your eyes." He requested, with all the enthusiasm of a little boy with a great surprise for someone.

Galatea hesitated for a long moment, clearly not used to putting herself at a disadvantage in a situation. However, this was -Hadrian- and she trusted him completely. Reminding herself of this, she screwed her eyes shut obediently.

After a moment, and the sound of slight movement, apparently all that was necessary for her to close her eyes for, Hadrian announced, "Alright, you can open your eyes."

He held a long strip of material out in front of her, it looked similar to the piece of material he'd shown her that he said he had gotten while he was travelling. There were complicated exotic patterns woven into it, and it looked like it would be soft to touch. Hadrian was clearly waiting expectantly for her reaction.
