Lee isnt really a ninja since all hes got is taijutsu. He should go become a monk or something and yeas, im ready fro all the enraged people to yell at me for this one.

I'll be the first! YOU IDIOT!!!!!!!!! scream Just kidding, he is a real ninja though. I believe he's the best in the series, and although there match would be close, Lee would come out on top mainly because of speed.

i think neji would win because when he uses his gental fist move he can cut off the flow of chakra to that spot.

Lee would be able to beat Neji now. Lee trains harder, longer, and is more consistant. Also Lee's quickness would give him the upperhand. The fight would be a good one though.

Honestly? I think that our beloved Lee-kun would be defeated. Neji is just too good for Lee-kun to defeat him.

I beleive Lee has more character then anyone else on the show.

Lee has speed enough to break the sound barrier (as shown in filler arc) Lee's secondary defense (128 strikes) has shown that even when at his fastest, things as slow as flying spiders are moving in relation to neji. this means that even if Neji could observe analyze and predict Lee's moves perfectly, he could not come anywhere near the point of defending against Lee's attacks physically. His perfect defense (the flashy whirl thingy) also takes up far too much chakra to be used continually, and because Rock Lee can attack relentlessly with even the third gate open (which removes the body's limitations of exhaustion) Lee can force Neji to exhaust his chakra resources and make Neji a sitting duck.
There are more things than simple fighting strength that contribute to a ninja's raise in rank. Shikimaru lost his battle in the Chunnin exam but displayed clear leadership abilities. Rock Lee also displays such leadership in certain episodes (which makes it seem the rank of Chunnin was well-deserved) but he still lacks Ninjutsu, which for a ninja makes perfect sense as to why his promotion to Jounin is delayed in light of his superiority.
Ninjas don't just fight ya know, Neji can see through walls and has uber perceptiveness. that's prolly why he's Jounin.
so in a fight, Rock Lee obviously wins. mrgreen

Milkycrownlover4 Actually, Male_Monk Miroku, I would have to Wholeheartedly Disagree with you. In All Honesty, Neji is Proven to be Much Stronger than our most beloved Lee-Kun.
With Facts Given- In the Beginning of the Story (Before Chu'nin Arc) Neji was much Stronger than Lee - With his Byakugan, Hyuuga Bloodline, and everything else that Contributed to His "Genius". Lee on the Other hand, not being or having any special ablities at all, proved to be a very interesting Character. He was indeed a genius in himself - The Genius of "Hard Work". With his Dedication - He was able to prove himself. Also, If it was not for his Sensei, Maito Gai, than he could have very well gave up on himself completely. However, Being Determined Takes you very far.....
However, We Notice in the Chu'nin Arc That Lee indeed has an Arsenal of very powerful moves - The "Lotus" techniques. However, they do put a very tremendous bodily strain on the User - Which could result in Exaustion, extreme Pain, or even death.
Although I can honestly believe that Lee could have very well Defeated Neji if he would have moved onto the final rounds instead of the Preliminaries.
However, Not to Spoil the Naruto Series Entirely, But After the Time-Skip - Lee becomes a Chu'nin, and Neji becomes a Jounin - Which very well means that he is a Ninja rank Above Lee - And the Same Rank as Their Sensei, Gai. That means that he is a Great Deal Stronger than Before - Which means that Lee is indeed, Weaker. (For Now. ^___^) i see what you mean but as gai sensei said a hard worker will always beat a natural born user.plus gai sensei said somewhere that the weakness to the byakugan is speed.if lee takes his weights off then he easily has that speed.plus the gates can easily increase a persons power and speed 10 times or more.neji would have the hardest time catching up with rock lee while its a breeze for rock lee. and ranks dont mean anything when naruto was a student academy he beat a chunnin(mizuki)
