I've had this figured out since... day one... but have NO CLUE how to describe it - despite having the nagging feeling that it can by summed up in one or two words. stare
Sooooooo:
What would the following be labelled as - his, hers, mine, ours, etc.
Skillz, man... skillz. cool

That, and I moved out of my parents house - and left all my notes there (and keep forgetting to grab them whenever I visit)

Aww, could only find my paper of 'randomness'... as in not my full notes, but little quips I thought up and wrote down. Actually, I don't think any of the following were on their that I didn't already have up someone on the internet. Be that as it may, I rewrote everything that I could remember, and voila, we get:

Yup.
I needed it for the Etiktik words, and I didn't bother changing pens when I wrote in English. Then I figured I might as well go a little fancy. XD
Names are what you make of them. Literally. My name there is both my first and last name. The second symbol is for what family you belong to (so it's the same throughout the different generations - but different than typical last names where the children adopt the father's last name. It's gender dependent - daughters adopt their mother's last name, and sons adopt their father's last name. And marriage doesn't change anyone's last name) while the first name you actually create yourself (if a part of the culture - when you're five, if outside the culture - 5+ (aka. however old you are so long as you are five or older) - and you'd get to create your own last name as well)
The only rule really to names is that it should be unique - and must have those two lines (one above and one below, they are part of the name, but also allows people to recognize that it's a name-symbol)
In case you couldn't figure it out - you can't actually READ names. Because two people may have the same first name, but completely different symbols for it. That's one of the faults of their written language. Names are used to show ownership, but mostly are found on tombstones (as well as the roman lettering of their names so that people know who they are)
Even oral names are weird. They quickly adopt other language's names and therefore there are actually very few original names left in the Etiktik language. They also accept foreigner's names in their own language (Sorta like if a guy named Juan visited England, but everyone in England decided to call him Juan instead of using the English equivalent John) As a result of this, most foreigners could find not only their own name in use, but equivalents from many other languages as well.
I hope this makes sense... sweatdrop

Wow, took me a while to add more.
Even though I already had it in my head, I just needed to sit down and write it out. sweatdrop
I guess I was just afraid it wouldn't work on paper. I knew it worked in my head. Luckily it worked in both places. whee
And I noticed an error on that post three above this one.
Girl is only supposed to have a line halfway through the circle. I accidentally wrote "woman" for girl as well. sweatdrop
