"The entire Dead Woods was flooded...I think most of the trees were uprooted by the water!"

"That's...terrible..." Looking down at the dead air mage's face, the archer couldn't share Jim's enthusiasm.

"Well...maybe," Jim agreed at last. "But the dam is gone! We have water! Erik can start working the mill once again!"

The archer had to shudder. Erik was the name of the corpse he and Jim were carrying between him.

"Yeah...I, I'm sure he'll be happy about that...when he wakes up..."

His voice carried all of his uncertainty as they headed into the South Bright Forest.

Why was he doing this? Why was he moving out into the open, why hadn't he at least grabbed a stick or something along the way. Quin was ready to beat himself for his lack of foresight.

Sighing he looked up at the early morning sun. Well at least if he was to die here it be a nice place. Frowning at the thought he shook his head.

"Hell no. If I'm going down I'm going to make sure everything around me is going to hell with me."

Well there was some woods up a head, and while some may note their more sinister appearance Quin ignored it and just meander on in.

Heading out of the forest, him and the others stumbled into the familiar sunsoaked clearing. Ignoring the beauties it offered, he continued onward.

Once the clearing met up with the forest once more, Shade practically dove into it, not yet turning on his invisiblity features again so that the archers could follow him.

Heck yes. I'm riding a freaking bear.

Kalis couldn't help but grin.

Behind him, three very distressed men thought something different.

Hell no. I'm on a freaking bear... this things going to turn around and eat me.

And so their troop continued, with whoops which never left their lips, or groans which dead, trotting north. On their armored bears. Fear.

"Well damn if I knew I'd have just collapsed I wouldn't have gone into battle."

Somewhere within the grass of that field Quin pulled himself up. Stretching he heard several sounds of bones cracking. His body was still sore; but at least he was alive and able to move about.

Well this was no good. It seemed some important things had happened while he was out and he wasn't picking up any transmissions. Could he be out of range, or was something jamming the signal, or had he just broken it?

Either way he had best start the trek back to base. So he headed north and back into the woods.

Sending a quick runner back, Kalis didn't have to wait too long until a few men showed up with bows and assorted improvised armaments. Telling them to stay at the very edge trees to cover the area but keep clear of sight if they can, sort of breaking his own words by sitting in the middle on a motorvehicle, he turns onward.

Roaring the engine, he points out one and instructs him back to bring men up after him to the northern Bright Forest.

The peace wouldn't last long.

As Quin began moving about the clearing, he passed by one of the bowmen Kalis had positioned earlier. From the cover of the trees, the bowman let loose an arrow, aiming for one of Quin's thighs. This was one of the more compassionate villagers...he was going for a warning shot, warning Quin to get the hell out of their territory already.

EDIT: Whether the arrow hit or not, the bowmen wouldn't pursue. Quin had left, and that was good enough for him.

He only had a moment to react, but a moment was all he needed. Twisting his body he threw himself to the ground as the arrow came in, but he also subtly shifted its flight through an application of pressure. It wasn't a wall, but it still sent a shiver down his ******** himself back up he moved into the next area.

Zen looked around through to the sunsoaked clearing from above, with the moon gleaming overhead it looked so queit and peaceful, perfect to relax in, but Zen knew that was untrue at the moment.

Growing very tired Zen quickly continued until he reached the souther half of he forest.

The bike sputtered to a stop once it reached the edge of the clearing. There appeared to be nobody else present at the moment. Well, time for a break and to see how the bike was doing. Frankly it could very well have fallen apart by now. Jacknife hopped off the bike and crouched down to check the connections and all that motorbikey jazz.
