thank God that i'm consistent with my prayers.so far so good.
there are times when i trembLe but stiLL i hoLd to Him through prayers.
aLso through prayers, i grew...spirituaLLy...

See, I must be spiritually retarded or something. Cuz I'm very consistent and clear with my prayers, I cry when I pray, and yet everything is just crap.

i think prayer is just another word for communication with God. i pray throughout the day, and i don't always end in "in Jesus name, amen" either. it's more like me just talking to God and him talking back. biggrin

well thats between you and the Lord then. I know he is listening. and i know he will do something about it. and i will tell you as hard as i listen- i can't really hear him either- but i know he hears me and things will be answered in time. so your not alone and don't give up. if strength is an illusion it's one heck of one to give us the will to live on one more day.

Yea, thanks Elysia smile I wish I knew if the strength I'm having to hold on to my ex is of God or myself. (Long story) But it's true, it would have to be quite an illusion to keep us going day after day.

I think we need to pray so that we can tell God abouot our outlook. Yes He already knows but I find a comfort in telling Him through prayer. Prayer draws us closer to Him so why not pray even if He knows what you are going to say. 3nodding

Praying is important way of communicating. I know I do it way too little nowadays. It's so easy to be full of myself.
But this thread was really nice to read, to get reminded of thighs. smile
I have the Gift of... Laguages/Tongues...? What's it called in English? Sometimes, when I feel empty and somehow have nothing to say, it's just easier to use it. But it's also important to use words I understand. (I don't have the gift to explain what I say.)
But the Gift have given me strength often.
Scarredimage; I hope your situation clears soon. In a way or another. Often God's ways are interesting. Things happen and lead other things, seemingly random, and then you just find the answer in front of you, and usually packed neatly, sometimes even gift wrapped. But even if you still have to wait, I'm sure it'll happen.

Prayers is awesome, but it's only part of the Christian life. There are three main parts of the Christian life: 1) Prayer, 2)Bible intake, 3)Fellowship with believers. It is a combination of all of these that makes a fulfilled life, not just prayer. There is power in prayer, yes, but it is not everything in your relationship with God. Why would God come down and speak to you in a voice, if he has already given you his message in his word? He left it hear for us to learn from, hence bible intake.
Why would he give us all the knowledge about Him in the world? He didn't he gave some of it to all of us so that we would share it with one another. I should probably post these three and teach about them once, just so you guys would know this stuff. So many times Christian are just expected to know how to pray and know how to worship, but so many times they don't. Christianity has become less and less "Let me teach you." and more and more "Sink or swim!" I hope this helps you. Distress in a situation beyond your control is hard to deal with.
