And looking would be all Leboya would have allowed as well, out of not wanting to be assaulted by the other female in this one's life.
Rising up quickly, the brightly colored lioness caught his stride, and quickly took to walking to his side, though not directly shoulder-in-shoulder with the male, out of respect to his position, even though the 'pride' he was king to didn't really exist in full yet.
No.. It was better to give one respect BEFORE they had all the power in the world at their command, or so she had come to learn through experience, which had yet to have been proven otherwise.
Though they were not directly upon the 'great offering place', Leboya could see it in the distance, studying it with a great amount of interest, before her left ear swivelled toards her new friend, chuckling a bit in turn.
"Well, it's a mighty fine thing you did then, ne?" she chimed in reply.

"Certainly. I've always been a lion with feet firmly stuck to the ground," he said with a hint of pride.
Tamba's common sense and strong paternal instincts meant he thought about things practically - how they worked, how he could make them work, how he could utilise something, and so forth. He would almost seem out of place in a world where Gods still ruled and had an effect on mortal's lives, were it not for Tamba's deep respect for the things he couldn't explain too. Something that he could not fathom was not meant to be given a practical meaning.
"So, do you have family?" he asked.

His inquiry received a quick shake of the head, as Leboya recalled how long it had been since she'd even belonged to a pride... in fact..
-had- she ever been part of a pride? No. She couldn't recall such a thing. "I can't say I do, or if I do, I do no remember them.." she said a loud, her words backing up the same thought that flittered through her mind in it's own confusion, wringing itself around her brain in such a way even she had to question just how valid of an answer she had given.
Pausing, she looked out to the sea. "But I'm sure if you look at things in the broader sense, everything and everyone I meet is my family, some farther away in relation such as cousins, and others such as a lover or a brother, or sister, or daughter or son..." she mused, before turning to look at Tamba again, grinning.
"So I will parrot the question to you; aside from your mate and coming children, do you bear any family to your name?"

Tamba couldn't imagine life without the comforting thought of a family to return to one day. Her view of the savannah wild life being part of her family only confirmed to Tamba that Leboya had been alone for a while, and might never have had a stable life, whether it be a strong family or a strong pride. But she didn't seem to suffer the ills of it. She was a very pleasant and polite lioness indeed.
As he continued to lead the way, a double trail of pawprints behind them and the offering place approaching, looming in their field of vision, a great smile came to Tamba.
"Oh yes, my mom and my brother. Its been a while since I saw them last, but they're always with me," he beamed. He neglected to mention his almost constant worry for them, what with his brother's disability. All the more reason to set up a pride and get them both out her soon.

So much of her life being able to be read out by that statement wasn't something Leboya would have counted on, less it be so closely accurate to her life as it had been. There was no matter of that in her mind.
She looked back for a moment, watching as the water swept over the shore, brushing away her pawprints in their wake, before looking back towards their destination ahead, her head nodding barely as he brought up his mother and sibling unit, of a brother.
"Must be nice." she murmured, tail flicking ever so slightly, a slight smile forming over her maw in thought, before nodding to herself. Yes, someday she'd have a family of her own. "I mean, having someone with you in your childhood that shared your blood..."
Great, that probably sounded -very- depressed.
Quick! Say something else;
"And I'm sure you're overjoyed to be having cubs on the way. How far away are they from coming, by the way?"

"Well...siblings have their ups and downs...depends if you get a good one or not," he chuckled, half-sincere and half-nervous.
If Leboya was reflecting on a lack of family, and felt sad for doing so, it went un-noticed by Tamba this time. His mind was now a flurry of thoughts of just exactly what would happen when his mother and brother get here. Mlinda would have to face her, and meet the dark secret that Tamba had kept from his mate.
They arrived at the base of the offering place, its craggy surface water-beaten and covered in the odd lichen. Only there did Tamba register what Leboya had said.
"Oh...they're out on the plains somewhere. They didn't like to stay still for too long, since Tipwa is a..." and he trailed off, almost afraid to speak of his brother. "Once things are settled here, I'll be travelling out to get them. I can't leave Mlinda alone when she's so vulnerable."

Leboya frowned a bit. Tipwa ia.......
Tipwa is what?
The dropped statement tingled the back of her mind, but she supressed it quickly enough, forcing herself to ignore it, pausing as well at the side of the 'offering place', studying the surface of the landform with a great amount of interest, pressing a paw against it, and sniffing it, if only to register what was on it's surface.
"I see.." she noted, before a slight expression of shock came over Leboya's face. Leaving a female and children alone?
That was....
".. I do not see that as the wisest of decisions, Tamba. No matter how your mate is condition-wise, leaving one female to watch anymore then one child could leave for a hazard, should one wander off......"
Sigh. Yes, she was worried about that.

Tamba began to scale the craggy surface of the offering place, finding many footholds just the right sixe for adult paws, but obviously much too far apart for smaller paws. He could relax in knowing that cubs would not be able to scale this rock until they were old enough to need to use it.
He quirked an eyebrow down at Leboya.
"Huh? You think I was gonna leave Mlinda alone after she had cubs? No no no," he chuckled, more at his own lack of clarity. "Sorry, I meant I won't leave her side until there are more lions here. Guards, hunters, babysitters, that sort of thing."

A look of 'oh!' came onto the lioness's face, before a slight blush at her own brashness in presumption, before nodding a bit, shyly.
"Ah, well that makes for more sense.." she laughed, watching his own movements closely, before looking at the grooves the male fit his paws into in order to scale the surface of this 'place', intrigued by how nature had made it climb-able without having to put yourself out.
"I'm sure that you'll raise strong lions here, which would bring intrigue from males..."
it was a vague comment, before she went into depth; "Being raised next to the sea, would allow you to teach your children to swim, and water resistance would do to strengthen them...."
There was a nod. "It is something I would like to see someday..." she chimed, a thought put out loud, before finally following Tamba's lead to scale the offering place's surface.

The offering place was indeed a strange rock formation. Not as impressive as the great Pride Rock, it was similar in appearance but with one addition. Just beneath the jutting out plateau was a second plateau that travelled out to and sunk into the sea. It was obscured at the moment with high tide.
Tamba grunted and panted a little as he reached the top.
"Aye, you have to be fit to be a coastal lion," he joked.

Leboya, on the other paw, seemed to handle the climb very well, pausing for a moment to catch her breath after she'd reached, the top, before walking along the surface of the structure appraisingly, sitting at it's edge to peer over it into the ocean, purring.
She remained there for merely a moment, before rising up again, and walking back over to Tamba with a chuckle.
"Ah yes, at least strong enough to handle the rough weather that could strike at any moment.." she mused, sitting at his side again.
"However, I feel that will be no problem even if you are physically frail if you have a wise and powerful leader watching out for you, no?"

Tamba seemed to mentally stumble at her comments on leadership. It all looked very glorious and the ultimate show of masculinity for a male, but now that Tamba was thrust into this position, things didn't look so golden.
He physically avoided the question, even squirming and grimacing a little. Then, as if the comment had never been made, he looked to the horizon with a smile.
"Look, from here, you can see much of the pridal territory. Over there is Mlinda's new cave. And way down there is an estuary and then a river just a little up from that."

Leboya quirked a brow, seeming to take note that her statement had no response to it, but shrugged it off mentally, laughing a bit, but looking about at the other locations that were pointed out to her. -WOW-, you could really see everything from up here!
The lioness purred contently, before looking to Tamba with a grin. "Quite some space you have here, and it's so well laid out. A good stretch of beach, a river for fresh water, and a prime location for fish, as well as for the heard-beasts to come to for water, making it apt for snagging a meal...."
A grin came over her expression as she thought about it.
"... Y'know... would you complain too badly if I hung around for a while?"

Tamba smiled with pride. True, this wasn't his homeland. But it was now. The looming prospect of having to manage, protect and nuture every lion to be born or pass through these lands was incredibly scary for Tamba, who might still be seen as very immature. He himself had no father-figure, but assumed it in the care of his challenged brother. How would he fare as king? And were there any rules?
"You'd be welcome company," he replied with such gentle tones in his voice, such fatherly reassurance. "Come, you should meet Mlinda."

Leboya beamed a bit, but remained seated, waiting for him to rise up first, before she would rise to follow him.
"Ah, well it's good to know I am welcome here. It's a nice place, and I'd love to see it flourish." she added, leaning forward to look down the way they'd climbed up. The way down was gonna have to be paced well, or she'd fall flat on her face..
which was NOT the impression she wanted to leave on anybody, seeing her hurt herself.
It would've been funny, but she wasn't in the mood to make a fool of herself.
