Fuego held Codi ever the more tighter, and stared down into the fathomless darkness, noticably impressed. He was going to wait until everyone else was down, though - he liked being last when it came to this sort of thing. It's not that he was scared of the dark, per se. He'd just had one too many mishaps in dark places, was all.

Papina swiveled her head around and opened her eyes at the sound of Dr. Smith saying something about they could all end up dead. Her eyes went round and the leaf on top of her head twitched at the sight of the statue moving. Oh. That secret. Well, she'd had enough sunlight-soaking to stand the dark for a while... she guessed. She stepped up behind Reign and peered over her shoulder, making sure not to get her chin clipped as Reign bounced up and down. She wasn't going down first! Well, second, because Dr. Smith had already gone down, but she still wasn't going to be next! Maybe Isdra would be willing...?

"Mister Dude, Doctor Smith, same diffrence," she muttered shrugging her shoulders at the flustered man. Isdra rose an eyebrow at his serious lecture, but didn't pay it any mind. It was just him being his normal, easily freaked out self. Waiting, she noticed no one was going in behind Mr. Dude, so she stepped forward and into the hallway. "So why would that secret hurt us again, Mr. Dude?" She yawned at everyone else's mellow dramatics and attempted to clean out her ear as she walked.

The older man led them through the dark hallways, deeper into earth. "Not everyone is keen on the idea of us." He shruged as the hallway opened out into a large domed room. The ceiling arched upwards. Fumbling in the dim light, Dr. Smith managed to grab a flint. Lighting one candle, the rest of the room blazed into light. The room was several stories tall with long shelves filling the room. The group came out about midway up. At the other three cardinal points hallways led out of the room.
"We had a mage help with the lighting in here. Or something... Mr. Mysterious handeled it," the Doctor explained. "This is the room where we keep all the records. Books, scrolls, stuff." Slowly the man moved along the wall curving the room. There was only enough room for two people to walk abreast along the wall. "Is everyone here?"

Reign walked alongside Isdra down the hallway. When the room filled with light, the girl remembered the location. She'd last visited here with Nara when the relic took her and her mom and sister on a tour.
"I'm here!" She chirped happily in response to the man's question.

Papina cautiously followed the others and gaped at the sight of the large domed room... and squeaked. Now was not a good time to see if she liked heights or not... "Here," she murmered, more to herself then anyone else. She boggled silently at the size of the room and timidly shuffled along behind Reign as close as she could without steppping on Reign's tail, although she was sorely tempted to grab hold of her tail to make sure she didn't get lost or anything like that. Not that she would, or anything like that, but, but... You're babbling, she told herself and contented herself with sticking close to Reign, not getting lost, and listening to what's-his-name. In that order. The leaf on top of her head twitched contantly, as if it also was unhappy with being so far... up. They weren't going up any higher, right? And there'd be a place with sunlight somewhere during this tour, right? So much for not babbling...

"We're here....." Fuego said cautiously, and he gripped Codi a little more tightly. He was... afraid of rooms like this. Not that he would ever let anyone KNOW that, mind. Codi's eyes scanned the shelves and shelves of books and scrolls, and he made a happy giggle-noise that almost told Fuego to calm down, and that everything was alright. He tugged at his guardian's sleeve a bit, and then settled for sucking on his thumb to calm his own nerves. Fuego's jitters were passing over to him.

After a few affirmations, Dr. Smith didn't bother to count how many, the strange historian continued to wander down the curving balcony. The man muttered to himself for a moment before speaking up. "Now, the classrooms are all on the right hallway when you come out and straight ahead are some extra rooms, storage and such. Down this one to the left are the extra rooms, if you need a place to stay. Nara's room is down here as well as mine and Mr. Mysterious'"
Oblivious as to whether anyone was following him or not the old man turned down the hallway. "It's also got an extra escape route through a fake wall, Nara said you'd know where it was instinctively." The rambling dropped to a mutter, "Why she wouldn't tell me is beyond my knowledge."
Suddenly the historian stopped and looked behind him, counting the heads.

Reign followed along behind the man, her tail occasionally twitching as she spotted something of slight interest. It was rather boring down here, though. No pretties or ribbons. No nice colors. Her mind was on these thoughts when she almost ran into the old man when he stopped suddenly.

Hmm... A few were lagging but there wasn't anywhere they could have wandered away to. Well, there was but.. The old man stared into space muttering to himself about lost children and the probability of them getting in trouble in the underground warren before suddenly heading the way he was going. Apparently he had come to a decision.
Stopping at the last door in the hallway, Dr. Smith turned and beamed at the group before swinging the door wide open. "This is Nara's room, she finally gave me permission to let you guys come and see it, though she said she was going to be back soon. Some last scroll or something!" The Historian rambled on, not noticing the chaos behind him.
The room was in complete shambles. Furniture was overturned, the small cot had it's matress slashed out. Books had pages ripped out and scattered across the floor. A plain wooden cross hung on the wall, the small alter beneath it desecrated. The only thing left untouched was a Christian Bible, but even that had strikes through several long passages with cramped notes written on the margins.
Everywhere was chaos and destruction.
((I'm tired of waiting on people. I wanted this done last month and look how long it's taken. I can't do things until this is done so... I'm going to go ahead and finish it up. If you guys want to post, great! I'd love to actually rp this out with the children. That's why I set it up as interactive. TT If not... It'll be done by Halloween one way or another.))

Fuego's eyes went wide as saucepans. He dropped Codi's pacifier in shock - which caused the toddler to look down at where it was lying on the ground, and start whimpering. This in turn brought Fuego from his shock, and he bent down to pick up the thing, pocketing it, and grabbing a fresh one from his other pocket, slipping it into the toddler's mouth. He still had a chewing problem. "Holy...." He looked hard and long at the room. "Has it always been like this? Or did some sort of wild beast rummage through here looking for snacks?"

Reign blinked at the mess behind the man. "Nara's room is messier than mine.... My mommy would make her clean it." The girl stated, frowning. She hated cleaning her room. "When Nara be back?" She asked Dr. Smith.

Dr. Smith spun around at the questions. "Her room has alwasy been neat and....tidy......" The old man stumbled forwards and into the room. "But what.. how..."
"He's going to kill me!" Dr. Smith wailed as he began to search the room, not bothering to answer any of the questions. Frantically the man began to dig around, looking for a clue as who had done such a thing.
On the ground near Codi's pacifier a hint of silver and red glinted on the ground. A equi-armed cross adorned the cufflink, as it sat there.

Reign blinked. He hadn't answered her question. She watched the man run crazily through the room. "Who is gonna kill you?" She asked, wondering what was wrong.

Dr. Smith dashed up to Reign. "Nara's partner! She's gone!!!!" he wailed taking just one more step. A loud scrape of metal against the floor had the distraught man wincing and wringing his hands.
Checking his shoes for the metal, his white face paled even more. "Everyone has to go home. Now," he demanded voice shaking with fear. "We'll get in touch soon."
Sinking to the floor he stared ahead of him, not even watching to see if everyone had left or not. "The Templars have kidnapped Nara."
