The queen gently shook her sleek head, her smile sweet and gentle. "Don't appologize, Avellano. We all carry burdens, some worse than others. My parents have passed on as well, and I've even lost one of my cubs. But that is the way the Circle of Life works. Another thing you will need to learn, about the Circle. Its the foundation of our Pride, the ultimate truth that we live by." She nodded as she spoke, adding emphasis to her words. "Hopefully you'll get to expirience the birth side of the circle, now that you've seen the death side of it..."
A soft sigh escaped the lioness as she finally rose, feeling rested enough to move on. "Now, let me tell you of the circle, so you have some idea about how it works. Like I said, it will also be part of your duties to teach this to the cubs of the Pride." The soft beat of her paws against the dirt gave a rythmn to her words so they rolled off her tongue, almost chant-like as the space between the pair and their destination lessened. Sarabi told Ave about how the circle worked. How a lion is born, grows old, and dies. How their bodies fed the grass, which in turn fed the antelopes and other grazers, which fed the pride and so on. She spoke with passion, relating her vast knowledge and struggling to convey her conviction to the other lioness.
When she had finished that, she picked up the geneology once more, listing out names in an order that would hopefully be easy to memorize. She spoke of the great Ahadi, father to Mufasa, and the five children that she and her mate had birthed. She was forced to slow when it came to the grandchildren, the sheer number of them making it hard to keep straight even for her. Her slowing pace contributed to that, her paws moving with less energy as the walking and speaking took its tole on the old queen.

The white lioness smiled kindly at the old queen. All in all, she didn't really seem that old. Although she did look as though she may be coming cloer to her time, as she mentioned, but it didn't matter to Ave. Right now, it was incredible to Avellano that she even got to spend some time with the queen. "Alright Sarabi, I'm sorry...I mean...I won't." She said, turning red again as she apologized yet again without even realising it. She gave her tail a little swish as they began to walk again, flicking her ears fortha nd matching Sarabi's pace, so she wouldn't seem rude or anything. "I'm thrilled to learn all this about the pride, Sarabi, I really am." She said, grinning at the beautiful queen and then hushing herself to listen to the stories.
"Oh wow, that's really neat, with the circle and all. My mother never got the chance to teach me anything like that..." She trailed off, then silenced herself again to hear about the families and such. She noticed Sarabi's slowing and also slowed, then stopped for a moment and turned to her. "Are you alright...? Maybe we out to get you back to your cave." She inquired, then suggested, not wanting the queen to get hurt or anything.

A rueful smile passed over Sarabi's face as she finally came to a stop, settling her old body down in the grass for a short rest. "I'll return there soon enough, there is no need to rush it." A soft laugh slipped from her as she flicked her tail gently, soft paws gently brushing over the grass. "This weakness is just a part of getting older. There is nothing I can do but live with it and strive to go beyond it."
There was a gentle light in the old queen's eyes as she smiled, regarding the other lioness. This one could prove to be a good choice, and Sarabi could only hope that she had enough time to teach her everything she needed to know. Her breath sighed from her as the old queen gathered her strength. "I think the lesson is done for today, Ave. WIll you come to me tomarrow? I can teach you more then."
