Depends on the area, usually, but here's my favourite team:
Kite (duh, you have no choice), BlackRose and Mistral.
It's a good idea to always have a Wavemaster for healing, especially in boss battles. While warrior-types (like Gardenia) are good hitters, they don't heal your wounds as fast (except maybe much later in the saga, but their MP still drains pretty fast).

My fav party is Marlo and Mistral. Marlo kicks a** and Mistral heals us when we get jacked up. It works fine, and Marlo freakin' awesome anyway. ^_^

Balmung and Wiseman.
Pretty much anything with either Mistral or Balmung is good enough for me.

Infection - Kite, BlackRose, and either Mistral or Elk, I can't remember.
Mutation - Kite, BlackRose, Elk
Outbreak - (If I'm right, you get Balmung on your side in this game.) Kite, BlackRose, Balmung
Quarantine - Kite, BlackRose, Balmung (First playthrough) Kite, Sora, Tsukasa (for dungeons and stuff.)

Blackrose and Elk but snice was freaking gone so long (i even saved over 50 or 20 aroms and weapons for him) so for now it is Blackrose and wing guy heart
