Oh yes, PoNR and MotN are both highly suggestive...and no one catches it but me around here. Maybe because I'm the only one who can understand the libretto line in Don Juan?

Well if you watch the Don juan scene, you can notice at the beginning the audiance members are cringing and covering their ears, I'm not sure if it was because of the theme or because of Carlotta's singing, though it could be both

Yeah. Music of the Night is more I-want-you-but-I-know-I-can't-have-you-oh-what-a-sweet-sad-love-song. The entire OPERA of Don Juan Triumphant is basically "You. Pants. Off. Now."
I think the reason the audience was so appalled was because the music was so ....crunchy for want of a better word. That music sounded so randomly harmonized and almost painful to hear (ah, the power of the tritone) so the audience would remember when they left and when Christine came and sang so beautifully.
And then there was the point where they threatened to rip eachother's clothes off onstage. While Raoul watched from his little box. Hehehe. xp Gods, I LOVE being EVIL!

I like all of the disonance in the first part of DJT, and I loved the look on Raoul's face as he's sitting there watching them.

There's lots of other lines in it too XD Like..
"When will the blood begin to race? The sleeping bud burst into bloom? When will the flames at last consume us?"
and also "How long should we two wait before we're one?" Yup.. it's just a dirteh dirteh song.. and I mean. .the whole begining of it! "You have come here... In pursuit of your deepest urge In pursuit of that wish which till now has been silent... Silent...
You have come here<...something something..> In your mind you'v ealready succumbed to me Dropped all defenses completely..."
and Christine's intro answer back ^_^;; All about "bodies entwining" XD
It's so dirty!! xd xd

I've sung both before (not in front of an audience or anything, but other people were there) and it's only weird if you're thinking about it...

You gotta remember Erik wrote that while he was longing for Christine still. He didn't finish it until after he brought her down, meaning he started writing it a looooong time before he got to even touch her. He was probably editing it by the time he let her see him. So the play he wrote was about lusting for her because he couldn't have her in real life. Naturally there's gonna be lust in it. Just be happy the whole movie isn't like that. It'd ruin it. *mutters about stupid soceity today and it's sex appeal crap*

PoNR is just one scene out of an entire opera that he was was working on for some twenty years. Who's to say where PoNR figures in to that rather long span of time?
