This is an awesome discussion about a great question.
I'm not sure what I am. My first impulse was to say "Cat".
But when I thought about it some more, I thought, dog, puppy, dolphin, monkey...
Why those animals?
I have to think about my personality and moods.
Sometimes I'm like a cat: independent and comfortable.
Sometimes I'm like a dolphin: I love the water, to chatter, and people
Sometimes I'm like a monkey: jumping around and having people laugh at me.
Sometimes I'm like a dog: Curious, annoying, and cuddly.
I think I'm mostly like a ...
Chimpanzee
I'm curious, I like to cuddle, make people laugh, jump, screech, be clumsy and goofy looking...

heart i dont know what my inner animal is i think i might be a dog though because they are very happy friendly and funny like me heart

I think that I would be either an owl or a humming bird. Owls because are intelligent and my friends say that I am too. I also like to stay up late and sleep in late. But I also think that I might be a humming bird because sometimes I get really hyper and I move very fast, just trying to get things done. Hmmm... whee

fruitcake397 everyone usually thinks of thier fav animal when someone says that but although one of my fav animals is a cat i actually think that i was a cat in a previous life because i have always been facinated by them ever since i was tiny i have always been able to walk on all fours like a cat really easily and i know this sound strange but i actually like cat biscuits?!?!?!?!?!? lol and i knink me and one of my cats jester and i have a really deep connection with eachother(well we do, he means the world to me and when he dies i am seriously gonna consider suicide-i no it sounds stupid but thats how strongly i feel for him) I have always been facinated by cats too!

my inner animal is a bat. I know that for a fact because I'm getting there wings tatood on my back for that reason.
a bat is scary for most people and so am I. but a bat is a harmless creature. it doesn't eat much and it flys. I have always wanted to fly.

Ailinea Wow, fruitcake, that sound serious, the suicide thing. I understand attachment to animals, but that's not good. Personally, I believe that when a pet dies, it comes back in some way, shape, or form, back to you. You just kind of sense it. Then you develop a close bond with them, knowing that your love is never ending. It's depressing to lose someone or a pet, I know, but it's much too serious to consider taking one's life because of it. Death is a natural thing, and to kill yourself over it is quite petty, not to mention wrong. Perhaps you should talk to someone about that. And best of luck. wink That a very good outlook on the death of a pet. Personally when my pets die even my fish I curl up with my dog and just try to think of all the good things that happened with that pet. But my dog if I ever lost him I would be so alone. He senses how I feel and always knows how to make it better. I have connections with a lot of animals some how. I've always been around them so I guess I just feel a connection to them...I know it sounds weird. My inner animal I think would be a fish. Because I'm always in the water, I can hold my breath for almost 3 minutes, I'm also unpredictable. In all my years in having fish for pets I've noticed fish are always so unpredictable. I'm also very quiet but not shy and since fish can't talk I figured I would be a fish.

I used to be a ferret when I was younger (always sticking my nose into places it didn't belong blaugh ) But now, I think I have metamorphasized into a pidgeon.
Don't laugh. Heres why:
There are so many of them out there, you never stop and actually look at them. And although there are some pretty ratty looking ones, but there are some that are simply beautiful, in their coloration.
They're also pretty intelligent. They live in large family groups, and they always bring friends back to their roost. (sometimes permanately.)
Also, they live in cities as well as the country, and are very adaptable.
I think that fits me rather well, not to toot my own horn or anything.
