13인조 그룹 슈퍼주니어의 김희철이 10일 오전 교통사고를 당해 왼쪽 대퇴부가 골절되는 부상을 입었다.

김 희철은 10일 새벽 전남 목포에 마련된 슈퍼주니어 동료 멤버인 동해의 부친 빈소를 찾아 조문한 뒤 매니저와 함께 승합차를 타고 상경하던 도중 오전 6시쯤 서해안고속도로 충남 당진 인터체인지 부근에서 타이어 이상으로 중앙분리대를 들이받는 사고를 당했다. 사고 직후 김희철은 당진의 한 병원에서 응급처치를 받았으며 이후 서울 일원동 삼성서울병원으로 이송돼 정밀 검사를 했다. 슈퍼주니어 소속사인 SM엔터테인먼트 관계자는 10일 오후“김희철은 현재 왼쪽 대퇴부가 골절된 상태로 구체적인 부상 정도와 치료 기간은 정확한 검사 결과가 나와 봐야 알 수 있을 것 같다”면서도“당분간은 입원 치료를 해야할 것으로 보인다”고 전했다. 이에 따라 현재 MBC 청춘 시트콤 ‘레인보우 로망스’에 출연 중인 김희철의 스케줄 조정은 불가피할 전망이다.

김희철의 부상으로 SM엔터테인먼트는 최근 4년 사이 3번이나 소속 가수 및 매니저가 고속도로에서 교통사고를 당하는 불운을 겪게 됐다. 지난 2004년 8월에는 동방신기 멤버들이 부산에서 모 공개 방송을 마친 뒤 승합차를 타고 중앙고속도로를 이용해 서울로 올라오던 도중 교통사고를 당해 부상을 입었다.

이에 앞서 지난 2003년 7월에는 당시 SM엔터테인먼트 소속이던 플라이투더스카이의 매니저를 담당했던 한모 씨가 전북 익산에서 공연을 끝낸 플라이투더스카이와 약간의 거리를 두고 상경하다 호남고속도로에서 불의의 교통사고로 당한 뒤 숨을 거둬 주위를 안타깝게 했다.

뮤지션 출신으로 보아의 매니저를 맡기도 했던 한 씨는 보아의 일본 진출은 물론 보아가 음악적으로 성장하는 데 적잖은 영향을 미친 것으로 알려져 당시 주변의 슬픔은 더했다.
