DarkHalcyon kingpinsqeezels darkphoenix1247 agreed- I always have tons of work to make up when I'm gone, and it's completely miserable. Why not just throw in a few extra days off? wink Who exactly is it going to kill to go a few more days into the summer anyway? New York always gave us days off for Rosh Hoshana and Yom Kippur 3nodding and at my University they even give half-days for travel time. Though I am glad that Yom Kippur falls on a weekend this year >.< since then I don't have to use vacation time up at work. Damn corporations. It does!? Thank g-d!! I'm going to die this year if I miss more then a day in all my classes! crying

What makes me angry to no end is that he doesn't even have the courtesy to say an apology himself- his publicist did it all. He certainly doesn't deserve to have a job in Hollywood again. stare

kingpinsqeezels Bored Summer Girl My high school has a ton of Jewish kids. If it's Rosh Hashana, half the class is absent. I've only gotten one incredibly stupid question from someone: "So, you're Jewish, right? Doesn't that mean you don't believe in G-d or something?"
"What?" I don't know where he got that from. He was never the brightest crayon in the box. rolleyes That's hilarious. We don't have any Jewish Holidays off here...My dad says if there were any Jewish kids, they should just stay home...Everyone doesn't have to. But I don't think it's fair that we should have to be unexcused for something like that is all. You don't get any days off? We have Yom Kippur off and if we're absent for Rosh Hoshana, it's excused and they don't count it against us. That's all we get though, since most stuff tends to start at sundown and we don't really need the day off for it.

My school has a lot of Jewish kids. I've never been asked questions about my religion like that, because since we just finished up seventh grade, everyone has been to at least three or four b'nai mitzvahs, and they understand sort of what it's about.
But we don't get Rosh Hashana or Yom Kippur off, but teachers understand if you have to reschedule something. They try to accomodate you. On Pesach, they offer Matzah lunches, with PB&J or butter.

Coffee May Be Hot My school has a lot of Jewish kids. I've never been asked questions about my religion like that, because since we just finished up seventh grade, everyone has been to at least three or four b'nai mitzvahs, and they understand sort of what it's about.
But we don't get Rosh Hashana or Yom Kippur off, but teachers understand if you have to reschedule something. They try to accomodate you. On Pesach, they offer Matzah lunches, with PB&J or butter. Sweet! Our school is never Kosher. My friend gets mad at me for not trying. sad
