Theres emotional songs and then there are labled 'emo' songs. Ya'll probably know what I think of stereotypes, but still.
I've used references to cutting in a couple of my songs. They're completely figurative, I didn't write them so that the songs would be emo, I wrote them cause they were a perfect way of expression for the mood I was in.
I've also used Promised Land for the allusion of bliss being taken from me, but that doesn't make the song Christian, does it? I was saying I was board as hell.
So, yeah. That would be the stereotypical guildlines of the different 'emo' songs. Again, I tend not to abide to them, but thats what they are.

Actually, most don't mind me, others think I'm great and get the jokes, where as some are just too pretentious to get it at all.
