I like fiction. Normally I read the Stephen Kings or Douglas Adams or various works of fantasy.
I remember... About a million years ago my friend was waiting for the... third? book to come out (I think it was the third) and she was trying to get me to read it but I was avidly against it.
"You want me... to read... a children's book..."
But even though it's for kids, I think it's written in a sort of middle ground where it's not horribly cute and it's not exceedingly adult.
And these books keep getting darker and sadder. Poor little kids. Poor me, what am I saying. I cried so hard!

I was a Harry Potter fan until my SO became obsessed with it
Now i cringe at the very sound of the name of Harry Potter

That's cool. Harry Potter is okay, not exactly a big favorite of mine, but a good read nonetheless.
Right now I'm stuck on Maragaret Weis novels.

Yah they're pretty good...I'll probably read them again during the summer...I can't read them during the school year because every student or teacher who has ever had a Harry Pothead book at school has gotten it ******** hell, why can't people just go to the book store and get there own? xp

XD ... u know in Virginia they wanted to ban Harry Potter from the schools... wtf is that?? its fiction, not evil (although, very interesting)... i know in the Middle East and elsewhere they are banned cause it doesn't conform to the religion (stupid communist governments ^nothing against anyone who is communist^) XP

people think it will give children bad ideas (i.e. ideas that they are indpent beings) so they dtomp on what different and new, because they do not control it.
