"He is very handsome. Though many mares think that of thier mates." the red mare said chuckling. "Is the desert very far off?" she asked. This place of extreme heat interested her. She had been to the ocean and had been to the mountains. But never the desert. "What is the desert like?" she also asked curiously.

"Well, its full of sand and its very hot during the day, but at night it is a little cooler," said Randee. "There isn't too much there, however, it has the most excellent view of the land, nothing to block your sight. It's just over the mountains."

"If you would like, I could show it to you now," said Randee cheerfully and excited.
Leah, also very excited, quickly rushed off towards the desert. "Meet you there!" she shouted as she ran off.

Settia smiled as the lioness ran off ahead of them. "Sure! I would love to go see the desert." the red mare said and smiled happily.

"Follow me," said Randee as she ran off to the desert. After several minutes, Randee arrived at the desert and turned back to make sure that Settia was still following.

Settia chased after Randee. The run made her feel like she was young again and she couldn't help but to give a cheerful whinny. Then suddenly the earth under her feet changed and become very soft and slippy. Stopping Settia looked at the sand under her feet and all around her. "This is the desert?" she asked curiously. "There sure is a lot of sand here." she commented.

Randee laughed.
"That's pretty much all it is here," said Randee. "That's the beauty of it, its emptiness. Although, I would not come here alone, it can be dangerous. You never know who's roaming around in these parts."
Randee faced towards the mountains and swooned in its beauty.
"Isn't this area just wonderful?" asked Randee.

Settia also laughed with Randee. "It is rather empty and I guess that is the reason for it's beauty. It's simple and uncomplicated unlike the forest. The forest has so many things that make it beautiful. Here there is only the sand." the red mare said and also faced towards the moutains. This was a a view of them that she had never seen before. It was magnificant.

"Yes, that in itself is the beauty," said Randee with a yawn. "I'm getting quite tired. I'm sorry to cut our journey short, but I must return home."
Randee turned and slowly began heading back home.
