Umo sat silent, his head lowered a bit as he took in her words. For such a young lioness, she was very wise in her own ways. He closed his eyes. "I a hoping, that perhaps... Kika will give birth in the Kusini Mwenzi lands with our next pregnancy... Just so I can give something to my pride that can be worth something..." He said, looking up with a small smile. "I just, love making my family happy. Since, my family did not do the same for me... and I know that Kika is very... cautious about what she does and when she does it.." He said, looking nervously to the side.
"I do not know if I could really... leave both lands. I have grown to love them so much." He said, looking up with a smile. "I do not think I could bear to tear myself let alone my family from home. It would be to difficult for me..."

The lioness blinked, then nodded again in the same educated way that she had done before "I see." she said with emphasis on both of those little words. This lion was by far the most loyal to anything that she had ever met. It made her smile how he spoke of his family and his pride as if they were of the utmost importance to his survival.
This particular lion seemed glued to his home, the polar opposite from Kia, but yet Kia saw through his eyes because of thier shared love for thier families.... or at least she tried to.
She smiled slightly, studying the other's placid expressions as he spoke. It seemed to Kia that he had already made his decision and that he had made the correct one for his needs. His need seemed to be family, Kia's need was adventure. She could see how they differed and she respected the difference. She nodded one final time before looking back at him
"I understand" she said, thinking for once that she told some truth in saying this "Just as long as you yourself respect your decision I'm sure things will work out just fine"

Umo nodded to her agreeance. He loved his family more than he loved the taste of meat, or more than he loved himself most of hte time. He could not help it. He smiled sheepishly, He even loved hte little green genet that wandered around behind Kika. Everything about them, he loved. So, he supposed he did love his family more than the world. More than anything. He could even think of what would happen if he left them for good.
He rather enjoyed speaking to this lioness, even if she had diffrent views that he did. She was a pleasent person, and he wondered that if he would ever meet her when she had grown again. He glanced up at the sky, his crimson eyes judging if it was getting late or not. He did not want to be too long... but he did not want to leave this youngster alone... "If I did not have a family, whom would I love?" He asked with a smile.

She smiled sweetly, looking also skyward but she looked to admire the swirls of cloud amongst the blue. She studied the sky carefully as she listened to his question. Who would he love? Kia lived alone, sometimes it did become sad, but the land around her became like family. The way that the wind carressed her face as she ran on the grass that tickled her paws, the feelings reminded her of the family she once stood beside.
The land had become her family, she had grown nearly to an adult with the hills and the breeze, something that couldn't be said about her mother and brother.
What would he love? That question Kia could easily have answered in a heartbeat, but she knew nothing about a who.... or a why.
"I don't know sir," she said, still watching the spirals of cloud "I suppose you would have no one but yourself."

Umo chuckled deeply, her words were true in all ways. He could not help but really think about her words, and he would think of them at late. He did love himself... in a way. "I suppose my love does wander towards myself... but not as much as it used too. When I was your age... I was all about myself due to what I thought of prides and familys. I had the same thoughts as many, but.. I suppose I grew out of them." He said flatly. He shrugged his heaft shoulders as he glanced up at the sky, seeing the clouds. He stared at those so long ago. He'd have to star gaze with Kina...
"But I suppose it is better to sometimes love others more than myself... just because... well... I suppose... Hehe. I do not know. Because it is the thing to do." he said rambling.

Kia nodded in agreement. If everyone loved only themselves what a terrible world it would be. The cruelty of life on Earth was hard enough with those select few that loved others more than themselves. Kia couldn't imagine how things would be without personalities like that of the lion before her.
Her mind snapping back to reality from thoughts and opinions she looked back over to the lion, a suddenly startled look on her face.
"Oh dear," she said quickly "How rude of me..... my name's Kia" she said with a quick laugh "I do believe I forgot to introduce myself.... either that or my memory has failed me again" she looked sheepishly at her feet. Hoping that they hadn't been introduced before or else she would have to suffer through the embarrassment that she forgot his name. This sort of thing had happened to Kia before after all

Umo laughed pleasently, his eyes shut as he did. How silly of him as well, to not even intruduce himself like he usually does, being that it was not very often the told others his name. He shook his mane, a smile still crawling across his face; as he blinked over at Kia. "Hello Kia. I am Umo, I am sorry for not intruducing myself as well. Glad to have met you Kia" He said, nodding his head in intruduction.
He reached up to scratch behind his ear before straightening and looking at Kia curiously but with a smile. "You are not much older than my daughter. YOu remind me of her in some ways... such as... well.... she wants to wander so badly" HE said with a laugh

"Nice to meet you too Umo" she said with a smile and a customary nod, almost in direct mirror of his actions.
Kia poked at a beetle in the dirt, watching it skitter about as she blocked off every route of it's escape with her paw, a childish smirk was written on her face as she did so. Her ears barely caught his next words, but she responded nontheless.
"Have you seen her lately?" she said quickly, mentally comparing her own story to his as he spoke. She could picture her father in her mind's eye, torn between her mother and some outside element... much like Umo with the Mwenzi. She couldn't help but hope that it wasn't a lack of love for her mother that had kept her father away these month of her life. Perhaps it was the love of a pride that kept him away.

Umo nodded happily, his tail curling lightly over his back; wagging slightly. He was very pleased to learn Kia's name and to get to know her personaly. He watched her intently as she played with the beetle; something about how she acted made her really seem like a friend Kinamasi would have. He smiled. "Oh, yes. She is not yet old enough to be on her own." He said, smiing at the thought of kina being on her own for the first time. Or, perhaps he didn't like that thought?
"She does however want to wonder around alot now. I guess my genes flow, since I also craved the world. Perhaps, it is just a phase all cubs go through. I do not know." He said, shrugging.

Kia frowned slightly, looking down at her feet, an almost shamed expression adorning her features "So you see her often then..." she said quietly, almost a whisper meant to be uttered to herself. She bit her bottom lip, this was where thier stories parted.
She let the beetle go, looking back to Umo, a sort of tornness in her eyes.
"I should go look for them" she said with some finality. Being around Umo who cared so much for his family made her realize how much she had missed her own family "I should begin right away" she smiled slightly, turning her head in all directions, but where to start? She was all alone now, who knows where any of the members of her family were. They were so far away.... they seemed just like a memory, except she knew that she had a chance now to bring the memory back to life. She had to take the chance
"I'm sorry Umo, but I really should go!" her smile slowly widened at the thought of seeing her brother again, her mother, her father becoming reality. Kia swiveled on her heels, heading south of where she was currently standing, but not so fast as to toss Umo a smile and a bow of courtesy before she began to leave
"It was wonderful to have met you Umo" she said quickly over her shoulder "I do hope we will meet again"

Umo smiled warmly, understanding Kia's words and actions. He would do the same. Being away from his famly for a short time was hard for him; let alone for as long as he guessed Kia had. Shaking his head; he spoke. "I hope you find them in good hopes and have a wonderful time Kia" He said, nodding his head back too the young lioness. He was always happy to make friends to such creatures as herself. He turned on his heels also,, intent on seeing his mate and child to tell them of his wonderful expeiance with such a kind lioness.
"I am glad I met you Kia. Again we will have to meet! So long!" He said flatly, turning back and heading foreward to his pride.
