 Jimmy Olson almost stumbled over his feet at the call from Chloe but found his footing pretty fast. His camera, his source of income and praise from Kahn more important than falling face first on the stairs....
Not as important however than getting a chance to talk to...
"Oh hi Chloe...geeze you look like you lost a scoop on something what happened? I heard Kahn calling you in....I kinda ran the other way when she is like that" he could feel his cheeks blush slightly...but kept it down.

"No its nothing Jimmy. Are you alright? you sort of tripped. Oh! Here Kahn told me to give you this. We are going to Gotham in a few days to cover the Benifit that is being hosted by Bruce Wayne. I'm assigned to the story and Kahn wants you to take the pictures." Chloe handed him the ticket. She started to pass him and over her shoulder said "Take it easy Jim-bo you just started, i don't want to see you replaced so soon."
Chloe walked off to her desk near the back wall and took a seat at her computer and started opening the files that Kahn and forwarded to her computer. Chloe opened some of the files, interveiws from CSPAN, information on the Institutions, Background on Wayne Enterprises, but what Caught Chloe's eye was the article titled "History of the Gotham Institute for the Blind" within the article it claimed their was a Reaserch Wing that was funded and Named after the notorious Luthor Family.
Now Chloe was intrigued. There was motive going on behind the scenes here, and Chloe intended to find it. 'What business would Lex have with the Waynes?' Chloe knew it could very well be the families wealth... but her journalistic instinct was telling her other wise. Chloe whipped out her cell and press her speed dial 1 for Clark's number.

(why wouldn;t Kate be going. Otherwise how are we going to get Clark there? Its not like he can afford a ticket...)
Clark was working on stacking hey when his cell phone started to ring. He set down his pitchfork and reached in his coat, pulled out his phone and saw that it was Chloe Calling.
"Hey Chloe. What's up?"

 "Up here lana" Lex called from the balcony "come on we don't want to be late, hope I didn't concern you from the message I left, just want to get going as soon as we can"
He walks down the spiral staircase and welcomes her in with a chased kiss before grabbing a pair of tickets, "I have an engagement in Gotham plus a banquet. I was hoping you would like to accompany me"

Smiling, Lana answered,"I would love to go with you."
Without protest they gathered their necessities and headed for the helicopter.
"Lex what business do you have in Gotham anyway?"
It wasn't that she didn't trust him, she was just curious as to why he would go on business to Gotham since it was quite a long way from Smallville and most of his business was Metropolis related.

Lex nodded, more to himself as the bags were loaded, "I am reserecting a wing to the same institute my family has donated to for years" as the last bag was on he helped lana in the helicopter and, "I want to do something good with my namesake, I might have lost the election due to how people see me, I want to make amends, and maybe the research that will be done will help with that"
They both looked out the window as the helicopter lifted off.

Clark set down the phone, before the phone could reach the table he was in the alley next to the Daily Planet. As usual he casually walked in and headed towards the basement stairs. As Clark descended down the stairs he spotted Chloe in her usual state of dissaray, and furiously typing on her computer. "Hey Chloe, i got here as soon as i could. Now what's this you need to tell me?" he said walking around her desk to take a look at her computer screen.

"Look here" she said pointing to the computer screen. "This is the Gotham Institute for the Blind, I think the name is pretty self explaintory. Anyway i was doing some research on the institute, My editor is sending me on a trip to gotham to cover this benefit that is bing hosted by Bruce wayne. While in my "sudies" so to speak i recovered a Research wing in the institute named and Funded after Smallville's favorite billionare family"

Clark read the information in front of him and gave her a puzzled look. "What are you getting at Chloe? Why does this concern me?"

"Well that explains your intrigue, but what do you need me for? You know im not on...the best of terms with Lex, its not like i can just talk to him anytime i want for what ever i please." Clark said while he rounded around Chloe's chair and took a seat on the desk.

"Well, the institute is in some serious need for cleaners in that wing of the institute. i took the liberty of filling out an application for you..." right as she said it a fax came through "-and well, it looks like your hired Mr. Jones, you start tomarrow. I'm going to need background on Bruce Wayne, why Lex was never convicted of the felony, and most importantly why the Luthors are funding for a long time rival family Wayne" Chloe ignored Clark's confused face and she began pulling out a digital voice recorder, camera, and notepad for him. "Here you are going to need these, make sure you keep you cell with you and oh here" she pulled out an ear peice. "I'm going to need for you to keep me posted. your only going to be working th night shift so don't sweat it too much."
