She had known it was coming, but that didn't lessen the pain. "Yes, Marluxia," she choked, and cried as he vanished. It didn't matter what she did; Naminé was only destroying herself.
"What's wrong, little bird? Tired of your cage already?"
Naminé jumped and looked toward the voice. Zexion was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, staring smuggly at her. She glowered back and snatched her sketchpad off the white table, heading for her lonely chair.
"You can't erase me, Naminé."
She finally faced him. "What do you want?"
"Marluxia's plan, of course."
"Don't you know it?"
Zexion's gave her a noncommittal smile; and suddenly, everything clicked.
She picked a blue pencil off the seat and flipped her sketchbook to an empty page. The lead flitted over the white, tasting the space, filling it with intricate arches and loops. Zexion's brows furrowed, puzzling her response. Triumphant, she turned the sketchbook around.
"Can you guess what this is?" Naminé grinned, enjoying Zexion's look. "Someone else is in the castle, and you're looking for him! But you're not going to get there first."
His eyes widened.
Namimé dropped the sketchbook, but the picture remained in the air, growing until she could walk through the ornate blue doorway. Looking at Zexion, her teasing eyes grew hard.
"Neither of you are going to win."
She walked through; she and the doorway vanished.

A figure that had appeared behind Zexion a few moments before Namine disappeared let out a small chuckle. "Sucks to be you. She's a little stubborn today, isn't she?" The figure walked past him to grab the sketchbook from the ground, revealing himself as Axel. He had a rather mischevious grin on his face... he was obviously up to no good.

Zexion closed his eyes and didn't reply. Axel shared his cunning and manipulative nature, and Zexion had long suspected that the nobody was playing both sides of the coin. But to what end? And what did he plan to do with Naminé's sketchbook?

Axel skimmed through the sketchbook in his hands, flipping through the pages before giving a shrug and tossing it rather carelessly onto the table. Turning to walk back past Zexion, he added, "We've got a guest in the castle, by the way. I figure I'd let you handle this one." The grin on his face was hidden as he disappeared behind the doorway, but still obvious- he was up to something. He twiddled a small sketch he'd managed to snag from Namine's notebook between his fingers before pocketing it.
((Sorry about the delayed response. D: I won't be on for about a week starting at midnight here: Can someone fill for me until I get back? I'm going to Italy.))

((I wouldn't worry so much about what's going to happen here the week you're gone. I actually doubt there will be much activity. It's not a bad thing, lol; I'm actually rping because of the slow pace. But if Axel's backed off into the shadows, Zexion's not gonna follow him. We can just leave your character out for the week you're gone, if you'd like. I'll fill in if you'd like, though. ))
