It was a bright, clear day when the island first came into sight, the waves chopping foamily over the prow of the tiny boat and threatening its passengers. A small red-and-yellow Zigzagoon perched eagerly by the water, not seeming to mind the wind whipping salt and sea into its fur. "My starter." Fenix repeated. At the moment she felt like a little kid getting a new kitten; completely unable to keep her eyes off it even if it were sound asleep and motionless. A wriggly, squealy feeling was twirling in her gut. The possibilities! This little Pokemon could be a champion, could have children that surpassed any others, could be talented or magical or anything. Logic never had a say in the matter. Anything was possible! Her laptop, being bored, decided right then to shut itself off. "Fine." She couldn't type like this, anyway. Snapping the lid shut, the girl scooted closer to her undiscovered prodigy, peeking past it toward the wide open sea. Wait...was that an island? Notes To be continued at a later date ninja Chenille: *bite* >FHeyyy, at least I'm tryin'! gonk *grumbles*

"Chenille...!" Fenix swung her fishing pole in the Zigzagoon's path, protecting the tackle box from her greedy little paws and eyes who had their beady sights on the hooks. She didn't want to know what her Pokemon would have done with the things once she'd gotten ahold of them...better not to find out. "You're going to have to be patient." she explained, turning to the rod. She carefully began to get it ready, in her slow, painstakingly cautious way, looking over each catch. After a moment, "If you want, you can pick out a fly...?" as Chenille was beginning to look rather sulky. She loved shiny things. Why wasn't she allowed to have them?? With great, injured dignity, she turned a sullen stare on the box of forbidden shiny things and jabbed a paw at a particularily guady looking thing that appealed to her very red sense of taste. Fenix obediently tied it on. "Now, you just hold it back like this..." Fen demonstrated. "...and let it fly!" She cast the line far out into the water, the floater disappearing a moment before bobbing back to the surface amid murky ripples. Muraki :O HOMG!!!!*A line of red light retreated into the pokeball and it dropped onto the sand rocking.* Stay in there~ stay in there.... My lunch depends on you~ *Muraki urged it, eyes squinted into a glare of hope/I'llbesomad. Eventually the struggling stopped and the light in the center of the blue pokeball went dim.* ....What? ...I caught it?.... *The red-head peered at the ball suspiciously. It didn't move.* I CAUGHT IT....I ROCK! *Extreme disturbing dance of joy! The sand flew as Lunch Money Boy finally got his due.* *trumpets blare* Wait... What I catch? *Stopping in mid-butt wiggle, the redhead bent to scoop up the pokeball and clicked the button. A red flash revealed what appeared to be a long wet golden worm, which flopped onto sand and lay there with a x__x expression and a bump on its poor little head.* ....... *Muraki squatted next to it and poked it.* It's dead... Fenix nearly jumped - as it was, the rod slipped out of her fingers and whacked into her lap. Who in the world?? The enormous splash of a Pokeball being chucked at top speed into the water made her twitch again, and it was only a little while later when a triumphant howl rose up from nearby. She leaned forward, trying to get a peek at whoever in the world could be so loud. Oh. That one looked familiar. "Some people." she remarked, somewhat blankly. Chen "Zig"ed in agreement. Hmff. Well, it seemed to have quieted down now, at least for the moment. As if on cue, a small rustle sounded at her side, and she turned to see Chenille sneaking a paw into the tackle box. One warning look was enough to send her paw to the grass, though, considering how much menace Fenix packed, it was likely she would be back in it again soon enough. Frowning at the still floater in the water, she began slowly reeling it back on, thinking maybe she might want to test a different spot. After switching the lure she cast it out even deeper into the water. The floater began to sway, fueled by small eddies in the pond around it which seemed to be getting larger by the moment. At the same time the line twitched. "We've caught something!" she squeaked, trying to dredge up forgotten fishing lessons in her mind - weren't you supposed to jerk it? But they weren't using hooks! She began reeling it in, somewhat faster than was needed, but when whatever it was gave a particularily strong surge she slowed down, then sped up when it was quiet, not seeming to be able to make up her mind. Chenille watched lazily with her head on her paws, somewhat interested, but more interested in the unguarded tackle box. She began to inch slowly towards it, keeping an eye on her trainer. PokeGenesis @ Chin + 'kobi: ???? has appeared! Fenix caught her breath. That rustle was getting really distracting. "Chen, be quiet." she muttered, keeping her eyes trained on that one little dark spot in the center of the pond. She reached for a Pokeball from beside her, reeled in a little more, and tossed it as hard as she could at the Pokemon's shape in the water. Her mental fingers stayed tightly crossed. PokeGenesis Psyduck #2 has been caught! With a hiss the Pokeball closed shut around the water Pokemon, snagging on the line as well. It was an easy matter to reel it the rest of the way in. Ignoring Chenille, who was happily batting away at the lures, Fenix scooted forward and picked it from the bank. "Look, Chen!" Chenille ignored. Gently pressing a finger to the release, she held it away from her as it popped open...and a little purple ducky-thing sat on the grass. It blinked blue eyes up at her, looking vaguely confused. "Psy?" In an instant, it was swamped in green sleeved arms, Fen not caring about the mud that would undoubtably get on her. "You're so cute." A broad smile swept across her face. She turned to her Zigzagoon with it in her arms, knowing this would catch her impish Poke's attention. "Hey, Chen, you've got a sib. Isn't that great?" Notes And Mieliki is captured! Mah little darling, unlike someone who missed their chance stare In the future - leave my tackle box alone! x.x Chenille: *chews happily on fake worm*Mieliki: o-o ...psy...? *eyes Ziggy nervously*

Omgosh, lookit mah baby! heart Chenille's evolved! You see, I had been out of connection with the Gaian world pretty much all day yesterday. Several storms blew up into our lovely little PA, zipped over the mountains, and let it rage right on top of us for most of the evening. The power went out before we even got home from school T-T This morning I RUSHED on, needing to catch up! And lo and behold, what was in the PG thread title? Quote: [ :. Pokemon Genesis .: ] Certs @ p2031/8/9 & p2067 It seemed like Despoina (coming up) had been certed at last, bringing much joy. But much surprise followed, for when I skipped back all of those pages, I came across comments about Chen, and well... crying *snugs her!* I WUV YOU SO MUCH. Chenille: *struggles* x.x Li~hinooone~... *can't breeeathe*Mieliki: *has no idea what's going on, but thinks the funny sounds the noodle is making are funny* whee

RPayyy~ Ary Keeyara A dark-blue houndour stood at the edge of the swamp. His ears were pulled forward stiffly, his green eyes searching the landscape before him. His nose twitched, catching the scents in the air. His fellow pokemon, the mud loving Rio and the curious Silverwind had raced into the murcky waters. His trainer, being strage as she was, had rushed after them. Having much more sense then that, he had stayed to observe for a moment. Letting out a breath through his nose, Athrun jumped onto a patch of land and carefully began to make his way into the area. Yakobi Louis padded along a dirt path, paws spreading out as he placed them donw upon the dirt. His eyes flickered as he appoached the swamp, the murky smell filling his nostrils. The male Zangoose tilted his head to the side as he hoped over onto the grass and dashed down towards the swamp...Maybe a rare beauty was there in all the boring...Ness...As graful as Louis could, his foot seemed to slip upon the grass, causing him to tumble forwards landing right by the dark water with a THUD! "Owwww...." he grumbled pushing himself up and rubing his head. Chinchillie A dark gray Ponyta wove her way through the forest, her careful hoofsteps muffled by moss. Her sharp ears swayed against the teasing waver of a breeze, scenting the sounds of daytime to check for a hint of difference in the air - she could hear the croaking of frogs and the buzzing of mosquitoes, and began to hurry forward, feeling the stagnant heat of the swamp against her flank as she approached it.
Peering curiously out of a split in the trees, Despoina spied the blue Houndoor with a start. Oops! She couldn't go out there. Uneasily she began to edge back into the forest, thinking maybe it would be nicely deserted down by the beach. As the shadows closed around her, she was startled once again by a resounding "THUD", giving a loud neigh of surprise and preparing to turn tail. The beach definitely sounded better now! Jaar Dane quietly padded into the darkness of the surrounding trees by the swamp, his bulb swaying side to side with each passing step. His trainer, Jaar, was on a new pokemon hunt with the others, most likely to no avail. Looming shadows danced at his sides while he walked through the clearing. He came to a large swamp, not much activity was going on, just a gentle breeze through the rustling leaves and a slow stream of the water circulating through the swamp. He lay on a small hill in the clearing and surveyed the swamp. Then he saw them, a blue houndour, a ponyta, and a Zangoose were across the way. Dane got back to his feet and started to walk to the other end of the pool. Ary Keeyara The houndour stopped, his ears turning sharping on his head. Twisting his neck slightly, he blinked green orbs as the caught sight of a pokemon falling into the cold water. With another form of a sigh, he made his way in zig-zags on the dryer pieces of land over to the Louis. Yakobi Louis shot his ears up as he heard a loud neigh. "What the?!" he shouted looking around to see where the sound had come from. His eyes imediatly fixed themselves upon a grey coloured Ponyta in the distance. He smiled towards her and gave a slow wave. "Sorry if I startled you." he called out to her, ears twitching, telling him there were others near as well. He turned as he saw a Houndour approch...Part of his mind told him to stand his ground. Louis had a disiking for dog Pokemon, but dispite this fact he simply stood where he was, unmoving. Jaar Dane rounded the last corner and approached the little bundle of pokemon making a mockery of themselves. "What are you doing?" He generically questioned, cooly. Chinchillie 'That's what he says.' she thought petulantly, eyeing the Zangoose. 'But does he mean it?' Shuffling from hoof-to-hoof, Despoina finally came to a decision. It was a bit late to retreat now. Hesitant, she edged closer to the tree border, giving an almost shudder when she finally hit open ground.
"Hi." the Ponyta said in a small voice. She looked to Louis, then to Athrun, then to the approaching Dane, blinking anxiously all the while. Ary Keeyara Seeing Louis's discomfort Athrun stopped. His ears twitched in thought. After a moment he turned. It was apparent the pokemon did not need nor want his help removing himself from the dirty liquid. He wouldn't waste time for an uncalled for action. Catching Dane's question he replied simply, "Houn dour houn houn dour houndour.[My trainer and companions ran off, so I'm going to get them]" Jaar "Oh?" replied Dane, "I do what I can to try and get away from them! Poor Brody got drug along to help My trainer out since he's the highest of us. He'd've loved to get as far away from them as possible.." His eyes flittered to the murky waters of the swamp. A clump of moss floated by and some cat tails scratched against each other. He wasn't sure what to make of this swamp. Chinchillie Despoina shook her head. "D'you like your trainers at all, then?" she spoke up again timidly. They probably couldn't even hear. Bugs had bigger voices than her, after all. "...and why would they run into a swamp? Isn't it wet?"
Life was full of mysteries. Jaar "What?" said Dane, "Did you say something, Blackie?" referring to the darker colored ponyta. "You oughta speak up, everyone has a voice and an opinion, some people just don't express it as well." He smiled. "My trainer's off in the back woods. I think Jaar's after some kind of bird of the sorts. He's always wanted a pidgey or something to that note." Dane flicked his head off to the side and glanced back at the darker portion of the forest. "Say, whats a fire type like you doing by the swamp anyways?" Chinchillie Blackie? That was a new one. Glancing along with him towards the forest, she gave her tail a small flick, trying to think of a good reason. "Well, it's not cold water or anything." She frowned thoughtfully. "Forests are too noisy. And...the beach is wetter." Was that enough? The bulbasaur had alot of charisma, by the looks of it, and hers was next to nothing. All of a sudden, she felt horribly boring - not a good feeling at all.
"A pidgey?" Des pricked her ears up, looking at him. "They're those noisy birds, aren't they?" Jaar "It's true some pidgeys can be rather annoying. Be he keeps ranting about a well rounded team, whatever that means. He's a little on the.." He let out a soft spiraling whistle, "...side if you know what I mean." Dane released a soft chuckle as he thought about the utter insanity of his team. "We're quite a mixed bunch. Hey, what's you're name, anyways?" He inquired courtfully. "I'm Dane, I would shake your hand like a human, but--" He glanced to his muddy little excuse for a hand paw. "--yeah." Instead he bowed politely at the ponyta's feet. Chinchillie A little flustered at the bow, all she could manage was an "Um..." in all its inarticulate finesse. She felt heat creeping up the tips of her ears. This was embarassing! "D-Despoina. It's nice to meet you!" Des blurted out. Oh, wonderful. This was going well.
She tried a different tactic; keeping her eyes firmly on the ground at her feet while she caught up with the conversation. "Sounds like you are." she agreed. "Let's hope your trainer catches a quiet one, then." Jaar He let out another wheeze of a chuckle at the bewildered Ponyta. "Well, please to make your acquaintance, Despoina. Mind if I just call you Dessy or Des?
And knowing the luck of the draw so far, something tells me this pidgey won't be terribly calm. Brody's cool, but Tuari's an utter spazz and Santo is rarely not touching Jaar. It's like he thinks he's defenseless, but if only he knew his potenial and got some guts. Then he wouldn't be such a clingy kind of guy." Dane slowly flopped onto the ground and looked up to the blushing Despoina. "What about you? Do you have a trainer, what's their team like? Or are you the only one.." Yakobi Louis ploped himself down as he listened to the other Pokemons' conversation. He lowered one of his ears, using his claws to flick off the bits of dirt. Yes he did realize he was now sitting in the muck, he'd clean himself off if a cute female came around. Well other then that Des...Somethingorother. She however was cute...For a horse Pokemon, but not his type of girl. For one she was too tall, so he made a note to himself to clean himself off if another girl came along. Jaar Jaar burst through the woods in a flurry of blonde hair and flaiing arms. Of course, he was being chased by a swarm of beedrill. He clutched Santo tightly as Tuari folowed, tripping over things that weren't there and Brody wasn't close behind, blasting torrents of fire towards the offending pokemon. "Oh my god, you're an IDIOT!" Dane screamed, he lept to his feet and chased after, yelling over his shoulder, "Nice to meet you Dessy!" And with a leap and a bound they were gone through the bushes.(I have to go, later!) Chinchillie Dessy pitched backwards with a squeal. What in the world...?! Wide-eyed, from the vantage point sitting on her rump gave her, she stared as the trainer and his Pokemon disappeared along with the clump of angry Beedrill.
"It was nice, uh, meeting you too?" the Ponyta called weakly after them. She settled down the rest of the way, turning her yellow eyes on Louis. "Hi." she offered, clearly making an effort to seem calm. Might as well..{Cya, Jaar ^__^ *wave*} Chinchillie Her ears flattened back, their mood echoed by a small sigh. "It was." Flicking her tail, she glanced back at the ground, at a loss. "Wonder if pink hair's common now...?" She shrank into herself slightly, looking a bit more self-conscious. What a stupid comment that was. Yakobi "Maybe." he said looking up at the female. Pushing himself up he attempted to brush off some of the muck that was now clinging to his pelt. Having another 'graceful' moment, his paws slipped and he fell upon his back into the muck. "Ugh...." he moaned as he simply lay there starting up at the sky. Chinchillie There was something to be said about being near someone 'graceful' like Louis...it made you feel alot better about yourself. Des stifled another bubbly whicker. Instead, she edged closer and gave the prone Zangoose a nudge with one of her hooves, balancing carefully as to not fall prey to the same fate.
"That doesn't look very comfortable." Yakobi "It's not." he spoke with a sigh. Dispite the uncomfortable position he was in the male found that he was unable to move. So best to just lay there for the time being. "So..." he began trying to think of something to say to the other Pokemon. "What's it like being a horse?" he asked, finding that it was the only thing he could think of. Chinchillie Des blinked.
"What's it like being...?" she began, bewildered. A horse! Something told her she ought to be bothered by that, but couldn't really fathom why. She thought a moment. "Little kids really like you, especially when they can pull your tail. And it's nice being tall." It was hard trying to describe it, since most things lurked out of sight, completely normal to her.
Suddenly pricking her ears, she lifted her head, looking in the direction of the forest. "Oh, I have to go." she said, sounding disappointed. She didn't want to go back, still feeling out of place with her odd team. Des laboriously got up, reluctantly swishing her tail in a wave to the Zangoose. "Bye...it was nice meeting you!" She turned and trotted off towards the trees, making each step as slow as she could make it. It would be nice, she reflected, to come back here tomorrow...if her trainer allowed it.
Sigh.{I hafta go u.u Thanks for the RP! *wavewave*}
