All of the other females in my house are deaf as a post when it comes to the paranormal. For instance, the night when 'IT' really came at me and my friend, my mother had no idea. She just spewed at me some crap about pulling my light towards me and it would go away. Psh rolleyes
My sister actualy called me insane. According to everyone in my house (who isnt physical) she doesnt sense anything and she never will.
I dont know why this happened. My sister was always closer to my mom than I was.. I was a daddy's girl when I was little, and I admit it. When I wasnt with my dad I was playing with my immaginary friend, Sally, who happened to be a child spirit in my house.
My mom even sent me to a shrink once about seeing them. it really sucked. So now I dont tell my sister or my mom anything because I'll get yelled at or threatened with the shrink again emo Oh well, thats some disfunction there...

My whole family is, or has been, sensitive to the paranormal. On my grandmother's side though. My uncle Neal doesn't accept his gift, so I think it's one of the "if you don't use it you lose it" cases. My cousin Alex (boy) is showing signs of psychic awareness. He knows who's comming in the room, who's calling (no caller ID), and stuff like that. He's being stifled by his mother, who doesn't even let him have normal milk, much less embrace his gifts. My grandmother has really reall psychic. My mom and I believe that she saved my mom's husband (they divorced) from a near fatal car crash. She called my mom at her new job (she didn't know the number) and told her to tell Bobby to swurve at the corner with the white picket fence. When Bobby was driving that same day, a car ran a red light, and Bobby had to swurve, or else he would have been hit. I'm not gonna go into that, but all the women on my side of the family, do portray psychic activity. Not the men....I'm not sure how exactly this is relavent, but the point is, only women in my family at least (with the exception of Alex) are psychic.

I think women are more sensitive in general, at least it does seem that way. I've been a guy influenced more by my mom than my dad, and have been more in tune with my emotions and I know I have some ability. There might be a connection there. Dad hasn't been any influence on me since I was like 8.

I think it's more that women allow themselves to be more sensitive, because that's really how they are looked at (down upon, in many cases). It's a natural thing for a woman, basically.
However, with men, they are forced into molds of rigidity, where they have to project more than receive. Any reception on a man's part and he's seen as being weak and/or feminine. That comes down mostly to societal conditioning.
Generally, I would say women are more sensitive than men because they're expected to be as opposed to men. Basically, women just have more practice and are generally more open. Usually. A BIG usually.

A friend of mine actually introduced me to my psychic sensitivity. My mother has none, but she's not a non-believer either (she half-believed my story about seeing an energy orb once). My brothers are just indifferent.
My boyfriend, on the other hand, is also sensitive to psychic energy. He's told me stories about his house (which he grew up in, which is located well outside city limits), and the room he used to have on the main level when he was much younger (he's 18 now). He told me he used to see faces in the walls (a la The Haunting, if you get the reference), and how it would scare the s**t out of him because he's a really paranoid person. He also tells me about times that he feels like someone else is there either in the same room or the house when no one else is home. I still have yet to pay attention when I'm over there and see what I can sense or see.
Another friend of mine, a pagan, had a bad experience with a Ouijia board. The spirit they had spoken to followed her home and wouldn't leave her alone. She was extremely uneasy about it too. The friend who owned the Ouijia board still uses it, even after our warning against it.

I don't really believe in supernatural stuff, so I can't say they are or are not more sensitive to it.
I think that more women end up believing in the supernatural, or reporting cases because they require more love, attention, excitement, and other things than men do. I think... Many girls like having a vunerable side to them because it is attractive( in some weird way), so they can create it by being, or making themselves believe that they are sensitive to supernatural stuff. I think it's a little bit like people who cut themselves. Theres a relaxing aspect to it where it makes someone feel better and in control, yet...They can also cry out for help and attention. I think it's very much the same thing, psychologically.

I think women are more sensitive, but I think women also have a better chance of being crazy. Im pretty sure it has alot to do with the lunar cycle and pagan beliefs.

I don't think it's true at all that women are naturally more sensitive - I just think it's more socially acceptable for women to be more sensitive than men in all areas, and that carries over to the supernatural. I've known some guys who were incredibly psychic, just like I've known some girls into magic who were about as empathic as a brick. It all has to do with how open you are to the energies around you. Yes, some people are more naturally inclined than others, but women just tend to be more encouraged (think about how people go on about "women's intuition" - if men were encouraged to listen to their intuition more, how might it be different?).
