First Steps (Story)
It would be nice to say that in the Winters’ household that mornings were not chaotic. After all most of the children were grown, and most were able to look after themselves. However that wasn’t really the case, every morning there were at least half a dozen people going in and out of the house. Some were preparing their own children for the day (she did at this point have her own grandchildren). However even in the chaos of running feet, talking, chattering, pots and pans there was at least a bit of order. Lau Donovan had spent the early morning planning out the day schedule for Kara. It was his job as assistant to make sure her day went smoothly. Besides, the more smoothly that her day went, the more time she would have at the end of the day, which for him meant the more time they could spend together.
As he checked off the list of things to prepare on his trusty clipboard, Donovan absently opened the door. Just in time to see a very naked Jin streak past him.
Wait… streak?
When did the kid learn how to walk?
“Jin come back here!” Kara ran past Donovan with a diaper in hand as she chased after her little boy.
The gears in his head turned slowly as she thought back about when she got Jin. Actually he hadn’t been around when Kara received that thankful phone call, but he had been under her employment since… Donovan blinked; he had been under her service for over a year.
“Jin! Not the stairs!”
Not that he thought about it, yes, Jin would be old enough to start walking, and if he remembered correctly once they started… they went pretty damn fast. With a sigh, he made a mental note to start fencing the stairs… again. That note in mind, he went to help Kara before Jin seriously hurt himself.
