I enjoyed reading the first book, although it reminded me of the Lord of the Rings a little bit. I got the second book for Christmas, but I haven't found the time to read it yet. All in all the first book was okay.

Hi. I've already read all three books... Nope, I'm kidding. rofl I've read the two books that had already come out. I find these series interesting and I really enjoyed reading it. Notice I'm 29. lol I'm looking forward for the third book and for the first film as well.

But my favourite fantasy series is still LOTR. It's more difficult to read (that's why some people can't finish it), I think it's for older readers, it's darker and it's far more elaborate (descriptions, characters, LANGUAGES - Tolkien was a professor of English literature at Oxford or what...).

Don't get it bad. I like Eragon & Eldest but I prefer LOTR. Paolini is very talented and young so he could become a great writer but now he's a bit copying other writers, especially Tolkien. On the other hand, Tolkien created fantasy genre in fact and it's very difficult, of not impossible, to write a fantasy book without copying him a bit. xd

I recommend to read both and decide for yourself. wink

I still haven't finished Eldest. D: I got it for Christmas last year, and I haven't gotten through it. It's just so borrrrring. ): The first was pretty good; not one of my favorite books, but good nonetheless. But for some reason I just can't get into the second one. I'll probably make myself read it sometime though. =0

I just finished reading the second book not to long ago. Though I found some plot traps, and it was not my favorite, it was still very well done; especially for a young writer like Christopher. 3nodding I'm used to reading adult fantasy, but it was an entertaining pass-time, and I am looking forward to the movie which will be out in theaters soon! whee

I guessed the ending as well, which was suppose to be a plot twist, but ended up being a plot trap. Ah well, I still enjoyed it. blaugh
