Liamh glanced at Ally, and then at Gaius, giving the other man a long, expressionless stare, taking in the fur, the ears, the hooves, the tail...
Remote tropical island resort. Mysterious secret laboratory. Genetic research. Handy supply of human subjects. Systems scheduling....... delayed... Duration of your stay..
You see, nobody ever goes in the factory and nobody ever comes out, dear Charlie.
"........ huh." He said, crossing his arms over the back of the chair and raising his eyebrows, looking somewhat impressed. "You know... that makes sense."

"Makes sense?" Well that wasn't exactly the reaction she had expected. He had definatly taken it better than she had. "You...You're not angry?" If she didn't know any better she would have thought he seemed intrigued or something similiar.

He rubbed his chin. "In a way, yeah, it makes sense... I mean, what better way to perform genetic experiments on human beings than to lure unsuspecting yet disappearable people to a secret island getaway? Anyway, i thought three or so weeks of paid vacation in paradise had to be too good to be true..." He grimaced. "Murphy's Law."
He shot a look between the two. "If they haven't gotten to Ally or me yet, from the looks of it, and Gaius isn't... too bad off... Then we still have time, right? We steal a speedboat or a hellicopter or something and get the hellouttadodge?" He glanced around, as if expecting armed agents to appear. At least the worst he'd gotten was a malaria vaccination thus far...

Gaius scratched at the fluff on the back of his neck, never having really considered it. For all like sounding like the plot of a movie, Liamh had a point. It was a good set-up. Too good.
"You... You mean escape?" Gaius's eyes widened. He'd thought about it, but things seemed so secure around here. "I... I don't know if that's possible..." He glanced around, then continued in a lowered voice. "Thing is, I heard they have cameras everywhere. So nothing we do is private... If we try to escape, they know. And it's not like there's a speedboat around here. But..." He considered, scratching his chin. "Maybe if we could get the helicopter... But how would we fit everyone on it?"

Liamh rested his chin on his arms and scowled thoughtfully. "Hmm. It'd be a lot harder to commandeer more than one. If we could find one at all. Perhaps if anyone could fly it, they could bring help..." He shrugged. "Y'haven't seen any flight bunkers around, have you?" He drummed his fingers on the back of the deck chair.
Probably hidden deep inside the lab facility. Or in a volcano. Geothermal energy is an excellent power source for all the equipment they must have. Have we seen a volcano around here? After all, all good secret island fortresses have a volcano...
"Hm. Cameras.... and guards. I saw guards on the way in. They weren't armed, but.... that doesn't mean the rest aren't." He sighed, trying to wrap his mind around the situation, which was quickly becoming more and more complex. His head shot up suddenly. "How do they do it?" He looked wide-eyed at the other two. "Is it in the water? Airborne? Ho gawd," he sputtered, suddenly afraid to inhale and trying not to breathe.

"Somehow I think Moreau would have tought about his precious experiments escaping...There have to be some sort of precuations...Something we don't know about, but maybe we could pull it off?" The idea of escape was thrilling almost compelling, perhaps they could steal some of the gaurds suits and masquerade themselves off the island.
"How do they do what, transform us?" A bitter smile twisted across her lips, "Did you get an immunization shot when you arrived?"

Liamh's eyes flicked over to gaze at her out of the corner of their sockets. "......... Oh dang." He let his held breath out, and stared. "You don't mean...." his hand crept to the inside of his left elbow, pulling up the sleeve of his hawaiian shirt to reveal the corner of a spiderman bandaid. ".... that wasn't for the malaria?" His blood was running cold now, and his spleen seemed to be doing the lambada. "........ oh man........"

Ally reached out a shaky hand to rest it reassuringly on Liamh's arm. "No...God I'm sorry. Sort of seems like Hell's come to swallow us huh?" Ally bit her bottom lip and attempted to lighten the mood, "Look on the brightside, you don't have to worry about main land politics!" She offered giving him a shakey smile

With a quick motion, Liamh tugged the sleeve back down. He sat staring with one eyebrow arched into the space between the deck chair slats, looking mentally preoccupied. He reached up, removing his glasses and rubbing his eyes. "Oooooghh. I think i'm going to need a drink after this, if i don't wake up suddenly..."
He looked up again sharply. "Okay, wait, there's gotta be an antidote, right? There's always an antidote to everything. Just hidden in the labs somewhere." He glanced at Ally and then at Gaius. "Well, it's not likely that easy, i'm sure, not like flicking a switch on and off.... but there's gotta be some kind of - hell, i don't know, system restore. Undo button. Backup disk, even... same process with a sample of our own blood...."
He scowled, pushing himself over backward. He landed on his back on the lounge chair's seat, facing the backrest he'd been leaning on. Crossing his arms over his chest, he had a most perplexed look on his face.
"I've never been swallowed by Hell before," he said with an odd sincerity.

"There might be something strong to drinks somewhere around here." Ally sat down in the sand, her legs immediatly going to the butterfly position, a habbit she had picked up from so much stretching. Leaning foreword she rested her elbows on her sneakered feet and looked back up at the two men before her.
She quirked an eyebrow upwards in Gaius's direction. He had been on the island long enough, if anyone knew about an antidote, it would be him. A small laugh escaped her lips at his final comment. "Some how I don't think it would be a very plesant experiance Liamh."

"An antidote?" Gaius looked perplexed. "I... don't know. I've only been here about two months... but from what I've heard from the others, this is all permanent. I haven't heard of any 'cure' from the labs, but then they wouldn't tell us if there was, would they? Besides, it's not like we can get into the labs, with the heavy security of theirs..."
He sighed, sitting down on the ground, all intentions of swimming forgotten. He grabbed beneath him quickly to get his tail freed and draped his arms across his knees. "It does seem kinda hopeless, huh? Stuck on an island with no idea where we are, no chance of escape, and no way to cure ourselves..." He scowled, ears giving an irritable twitch. "I think I could use a drink myself."

Liamh sat up again, arms still crossed, straddling the lounge chair. "Ah, let's not give up hope yet...." he adjusted his sunglasses. "We still may discover something. If we keep our eyes and ears open..... some of us more open than others..." he brightened, giving a cheeky smile at Gaius. "We might find our chance! Whaddya say?" He glanced between them. "Err..... and.... about those drinks..." he scratched at an eyebrow, grinning.

Ally laughed looking up from her spot in the sand. "Well I don't know what they've got around here, and all I have is a couple of Hard Lemonades...I'm not much of a drinker" She grinned sheepisly, deciding to put the thought of leaving the island out of her mind. If there ever was hint of a cure she would jump to help, but she had learned not to get her hopes up to high.

Liamh leaned forward and hoisted himself out of the chair, scooping up his glass from the table. "Well, I think i saw some refreshments at the Rec center, and whatever the spirit content, i think i could use some refreshing." He gave a sigh and a wry chuckle. "I'm not quite ready to face all of this, leastwise without having some kind of fun before it sets in on my mind."
He glanced back at the chair. "I think i'll leave this beastly - er, this thing, here," he caught himself, giving a mental wince. "Maybe someone'll use it." He looked at the other two.
"Well, now, do you two feel up for some distractions, or did you have some plans down here?" He pushed his glasses back up his nose, letting one corner of his mouth curl upward slightly.

Ally hesitated as her social anxiety kicked in full force. Not rising from her place in the sand, she lowered her eyes to her feet, seemingly preoccupied with the grains of sand beneath her. "No plans I believe." She managed to mutter, her voice lower than she had intended.
Out of habbit, she chewed on her lip. Truth be told, she hadn't met very many people on the island yet. There was the young girl by the beach a few weeks earlier, but other than that, she had stayed to herself in her Duplex, scrawling away at the lined paper that was her journal. She really needed to break this habbit of seclusion...Perhaps relaxing was the first step, but boy was it harder than she had thought.
