Snickering, Toushi nodded in agreement. "Therefore, when you look at the big picture, it just isn't worth it." Pausing, he nibbled on his lower lip. "Even then though, you can't really get a fresh start. You still have your memories and your old aquaintances still have theirs."

Comet frowned. "There'll be fragments, sure. What do you expect? If you make a mistake, there'll always be something there or missing after. Spill milk, stain the carpet." He considered this entire convesation briefly and found it quite unusual for him. It was an odd thing for him to discuss. "Whoa. What was IN that carrot anyway?" he said, commenting on the flow of the conversation. He had barely talked about girls at all.

Toushi snickered softly, considering the other's comment on the conversation's nature while continuing his drawing. "Mmm..." Thinking on that, he smirked as he gave his literal answer. "Beta carotene, glucose....." he murmured, nibbling on his lower lip.

"Oh. Glucose." said Comet dismissively. What the heck was glucose? Well he'd just pretend to know. Girls dug guys who acted smart but not nerdy. They thought they were sensitive. Right? "So what are you drawing?" The last artwork he had seen had come from the brother in a pair of twins and could at best be called abstract.

Toushi laughed softly, shaking his head as he carefully shaded an egg. "Glucose is a simple sugar, basically," he remarked with a chuckled, shifting to easier add to his drawing. "A..." Looking over the drawing, he smiled lightly and continued shading over it lightly. "A bird's nest."

Comet looked at the drawing and flicked his tail. "Very nice." he said admiringly. Not a drawing of a girl? Bummer. "And I knew that about glucose. I'm very well educated, you know." he lied. "So when did you start drawing then?" Sitting down again, he flicked an ear and wished for something else to munch on to make his meager carrot snack more appetizing. Scrambled eggs, maybe.

Toushi chuckled, shaking his head as he flipped to another clean sheet. "Sure you knew," he replied with a snicker, shaking his head. "You seem... disappointed?" he questioned, taking the grilled cheese from Katsu when it was brought and beginning to nibble at it. "I don't know. Before I was adopted, I think."

Comet shrugged. "So you were adopted late? I don't remember a life before the orphanage. Luckily for me, I was adopted. So who's your parent? Mine might know them." He doubted this but was running out of conversation.

Toushi thought over the question for a few moments before shaking his head. "Not too late. I don't remember much more than being given some crayons and paper, so..." He shrugged, nibbling at his sandwich. "Aah, I don't know about that. Kara's weird though, so.." Another shrug.

Comet snorted. "Does she have a closet full of denim outfits that she never wears? Trust me, Kotatsu's pretty strange herself." And that, Comet supposed, was why she adopted him. He was... outgoing, we'd go for that... and enjoyed takeout. Kotatsu couldn't cook for beans and couldn't cook beans either so she was always ordering out. It was an unusual life in her care. "Hey, do you think I'm weird?" he asked suspiciously. "Honestly, I mean."

Toushi considered the other's comments, finishing one half of his sandwich. Studying the teen at his inquiry, the striped cat shook his head slightly. "Not really, no. A little quirky, but not weird."

"Oh, good." said Comet. He could deal with quirky. Quirky could be considered cute. Sitting next to the other cat, he now waited for him to start a topic of conversation, tail swishing gently. Drumming his fingers on the table, he sat placidly.

Toushi smirked slightly, nodding at the other's comment. Comet just seemed to give off this aura of... well... let's just call it a certain fondness and friendliness towards those of the female sex. And so Toushi couldn't help his inquiry. "How many girls have said no or blew you off?" No need to mince words, no siree.

Comet looked at Toushi. "Quite truthfully, none. I've never gotten THAT far." He stuck out his tongue. "I've gotten to be friends, enemies, 'that weird guy who keeps following me', but never anything romantic." He glared at Toushi. "If you tell anyone I shall have to take your notebook and shove it down your throat, kapeesh? I don't want my reputation of being a hopeless flirt get knocked down to being just hopeless after all."

Toushi snickered softly, holding up his hands in a helpless gesture and grinning. "Oh, I do try not to do anything that greatly affects another's reputation with other's, so believe me, my lips are sealed~" he promised, lowering his hands and smiling. "Besides, you never know what tomorrow will bring, and all those other cliches."
