i wanted to know if it was ok to read such books as harry potter and stuff like that...my church says it is wrong but i think it is ok as long as you know that such things as witchcraft shouldn't be practiced...will you guys help me?

Thats an interesting question, i thought about it....and it's pretty hard to answer....Different churches say different things. But i think we should really rely on what the Bible says...and it does say we shouldn't practice witchcraft...i found a website which u might find intersting, but it's only once source and one opinion and the author of the article does say we should form our own opinions about it....so heres the website check it out if u want: http://www.bible-knowledge.com/Harry-Potter-and-witchcraft.html

i never read the series, because it never really interested me. but i have seen the movies, and enjoyed them.

I love fantasy books. My fav authors are Piers Anthony, Mercedes Lackey, & Terry Goodkind.

Personally, I think that's silly. You know its fiction and written just to have fun, right? Unless you are a gullable one that believes everything you read and aren't strong in your faith, go ahead.

the_real_willzers no real favorites, but the one that was on my mind was orson scott card. i love the "enders game" and "enders shadow" books. the whole series I love "Ender's Game" !! Good book. I really like the sequal, too. Maybe even more. It's called "Speaker for the Dead"

anjelpower yeah haven't heard of sue grafton.... My mom has read some of her books that is the only reason I have heard of her.
