Eloran cocked his ears to listen for a moment and then scooped up the bucket's handle in his mouth. He gestured for his new friend to follow with a sweep of his tail. It wasn't far, and he trotted there sedately enough. It was a small dip in the land, where a stream ran down a short rocky face and into a tiny pool before spilling out and moving on. It wasn't very far from the trail at all.

Eloran placed the bucket beneath the tiny trickle of water running off the edge of a rock ledge that jutted from the rest of it's damp companions. Leaving it there to fill, he turned back to the spotted stallion.

"Oh yes, I certainly do." He bobbed his head, making his forelock fall partially across his eyes. A quick head toss flung it out of the way before he continued. "She never constrains me to stay, but I see no reason to wander far, myself." His red shoulders shrugged with a ripple of sleek hide. "I like to explore as much as another soquili, but home... well, home is where the heart is. And my human has my heart."

At that moment his stomach made a clear gurgling sound over the chatter of the stream. He shot an almost apologetic look. "Well, she also has my stomach. She knows just the right thigns to feed me, that taste to wonderful that I'd not think to go elsewhere to eat most of my meals." He noticed the bucket was now full and overflowing, so he gingerly took the rope handle into his mouth and moved the bucket to rest at his hooves.

"I know not all soquili feel as I do, but truly, I could not ask for a better friend that that of my human. She loves me, and it tingles through me every time she touches me, and warms me everytime she smiles at me." He nickered in soft affectoin and simple truth. "I must take this to her now. Would you care to go with me and meet her? She is sure to have something lovely to offer us to snack on."

He paused then, cocking his ears questioningly at the other stallion, his eyes wide and curious. He liked to share his human's kindness with others, but he wasn't entirely sure how this new friend would respond to such an invitation. He politely did not pick up the bucket as yet. He wanted to know for sure whether or not Indawo would accompany him before he began the task of hefting the very full bucket.

Indaowo's ears twitched slightly, as though shooing away a fly, as he listened to Eloran's speech. It was all so foreign sounding, in a way. After all, he knew of no other Soquilis that actually lived with two leggers; visited them, yes, lived with them, no. Yet Eloran seemed to be utterly at ease and perfectly happy living among a human instead of his own kind. Or was he truly isolated?

"So...you live with a human, then...do any other Soquilis live with you as well, or is it just you and your human?" Human. The word had a rather harsh tone, and it didn't really roll off the tongue like the phrase 'two-legger', but if Eloran could manage with it, then Indawo certainly could. It would just take some getting used to. "Do you spend much time with Soquilis, I suppose is the actual question."

Maybe it was skirting the issue, but the simple fact was that Indawo was quite surprised at this random turn of events. After all, he was basically being invited to lunch with a strange two-legger, and he was a pretty solitary Soquili by nature. Kind as the invitation was...he had to think on it for a bit more.

BUt as he thought, a realization came to him; maybe, since Eloran wasn't around other Soquilis as much, that was why he didn't seem to find it necessary to belittle Indawo's flutteriness. Perhaps if you weren't immersed in that lifestyle, you saw fewer things about it to tease.

Squaring his shoulders, Indawo nodded his head politely at his companion. "I think I would enjoy meeting your...human, Eloran."

Eloran shifted his weight more comfortably, tipping one hind hoof up to rest it toe-down. His tail swished from time to time as he spoke with his new friend. "Oh yes, several have lived with us." His stomach gurgled again, and so to quiet it he snatched mouthful of grass before continuing once his bite was finished. "When I came to live with Talencia, there were two mares there."

He had to pause and revise that. "Truthfully, only one mare actually lived with her. The other one was wild, and tended to just sneak in close from time to time. But now she seems to have found herself a new owner, up in the hills." He swing his head to n** at a fly on his shoulder before returning his attention to Indawo. "I think that she will be happier out there, further from the other humans. She never was very comfortable with them, even though my human fascinated her."

When asked about spending time with others of his own kind, his ears flicked back and then forward again with trepidation. This was probably his weakest point with his own kind. "Since I grew to be an adult, I have spent my time entirely among the villagers. I cared for them just as they cared for me. It was a good existence, but I didn't see other soquili very often. Of course, my mother was there to keep me company as well. But no, I hadn't been around our kind very much."

He flicked his tail and snorted a bit. "But I've been able to spend more time away from the village since meeting my human. I roam the plains and hills now, and have met more soquili than I ever saw in the village." He shrugged a bit, tipping his head to the side. "I enjoy being around both humans and soquilis." He sort of slid his eyes sideways to watch and see if this stalion would frown upon his tight bond with the two-leggers. Inwardly he knew this would have a bearing on the future of their friendship.

Even so, it heartened him that Indawo had agreed to come and meet Talencia. He could tell that the smaller stallion wasn't one who usually associated with the two-legged kind. He had no way of yet knowing that this was to be only the second human the flutter had met.

Indawo stood rather still as he listened to Eloran, his thoughtful expression still in place. Really, the lifestyle that Eloran was describing was just so...foreign; not that there was anything wrong with foreign, but it just made him want to head the other direction.

Then again, what did he have going for his own lifestyle at the moment? All he did was eschew the companionship of his fellow Soquilis and spend almost as much time away from his only human companion. Maybe a change would do him good...though they'd have to get cracking before he lost his nerve. Not that he'd admit as much, but some things didn't need mentioning to be understood.

"I see...well, shall we go see this two...human of yours, then? She might be needing that water you're toting." A little brusque, maybe, but Indawo tended to get brusque when he was uncomfortable or nervous, and right now, he was sort of both.
