That's what I heard also, pretty clever!!! And it keeps her separate from Midii, 12 being noon, and Midii being midday in French... Gratuitous post to stay active in the guild twisted Colonel Lady Une Une is 11 due to her split personality. Une is one and 11 is two ones side by side symbolizing Une's two personalities. Btw, have you noticed that Milliardo named Peacemillion after himself? Think about it: Milliardo PeacecraftPeacemillion Not to mention that Peacemillion is a spaceship so it's technically a transportation craft.

I read in a fic once that Une's first name is Ann, which in some ways can be seen as one. (I have an item.) The joke was about being named 'one one'. There are worse things to be named...

Lady_Imrahil One of the funny things that has always struck me about this series is how most of the names come from numbers...especially in French, for some strange reason. Easy to recognize is Duo as 2. Trowa is 3 and Quatre is 4, strangely also their Gundam numbers...so is Heero #1 and WuFei #5? Also Treize, which means "thirteen" and Quinze, which means fifteen. What's the reasoning behind this? Any number names I'm missing? Comments? (I know Colonel Lady Une's original thread has some more numbers...I just now found that...) That is interesting. I knew in the american version they called the Gundams by numbers but not the pilots?

The Gundams were referred to by code numbers (01 for Wing, 02 for Deathscythe, etc) even in the Japanese version.
PS: The Gundam Wing Perfect Album officially states that Heero's name is derived from "yuitsu", the Japanese word meaning "alone" - and thusly, one.

They actually keep the joke running through the other Gundam Wing stories...the hero of G-Unit is Adin Barnett (Russian for one, same origin as Odin Lowe), and Tiel's Impulse gives us Tiel Noembreux (French for "numerous") and Trinoi Levinski (Russian for three). I don't know Thai well enough to say if T'ien-Lung pilot Krung Ponlaamai also has a name pun, tho...

"Une" Also means one in French. Odin in Russian, is one also. Sechs is German for six. ^^Hehe, I see a pattern, dun you?
Some others are:
Noin in German is nine Milliard is billion in Italian and Swedish (heh, I guess that's why he's so hot, right?!!)
Eh. ^ ^ Those are all the ones I have.
