Mwali stepped forward to meet his mate, laying his large head along her neck and shoulders, a paw moving to hold her gently agains the thick firey mane. "Shh... rest now you're safe..." He assured her, lowering and softening his town. There still lingered the bitter bite of anger, the tenseness in his limbs and tightness in his voice. "...Koho... one of the firekin came into the pride lands. Azeze was taken... We're going to retrieve him."

He sighed, stepping back enough so Koho's eyes were met by his own, "It will be dangerous... I know Kimeti..." He glanced to the scars on his leg, having been struck by his young nephew as only a cub in anger, "He would have turned them to my father's ways... I fear our son might be taken slave by then..."

Malik bristled, stalking forward dispite the interruption of his parents and 'aunt'. They could stay around and exchange words, he was hardly one to stay and chat, especially when one of his was missing. "Keep up or catch up." He called back.

Rehema glanced over to her mother, nodding over towards Malik, "Let's keep moving, they can catch up. We won't move fast, and they need their privacy."

(( little catch-up bit to start with so I can get back in the present. sweatdrop ))

After Mchele had spread the word back at Pride Rock, he'd quickly turned and headed after those who had already left. He needed to keep up and hopefully his paw prints would freshen the trail taken for anyone following behind.

He soon saw them in the distance and ran catch up. Fortunatly for him they'd stopped mmentarily and when he came closer he saw a new lioness with them who had not been there before. Obviously there was something personal going on, the two adults shared an intimate moment, and Mchele ducked his head and looked towards their destination instead.

Malik was right, they needed to keep going before it became too late to catch up with the kidnapped cub and the strange male who'd taken him.

All of her pain over the past months was redoubled with the knowledge of what had caused it's appearence, "My son...." It was only through the contact of Mwali's body against her's that she remembered where she was again. Her entire body seemed to sift like the sands in the Firekin's home, where Azeze was now.... More than anything Koho needed to lay with Mwali and being enveloped in his presence once again, but she didn't have that choice anymore. Her emotions were once again surpressed, the only way to survive anymore. It was almost as if her skin itself hardened against her fate, "Danger has little meaning to me Mwali, it is them that should be warned of the danger...." His rough paw had rubbed against the exposed flesh of her scar, the ghosts still reminding her of the price she had paid already.

The golden creature barely even heard the children's talk, looking to Mwali for leadership as she had always done jokingly before. "I will follow you my love, I'm not leaving again...."

"I won't let anything happen to you." Mwali assured her quietly, nudging his head gently against hers. "I promose we'll find rest soon. I want to see our children all home safely. They don't understand what it's like out there."

Truthfully, Mwali was perhaps more frightened than the others dispite his knowlege of the place. Perhaps the knowlege was precicely why he was dreading the sands... but he couldn't shake the odd feeling that had been hanging over him like a thick blanket since they'd left. It would only be a few hours before they'd see the sands at this pace and the closer they got, the less like himself he truely felt. Almost an illness in the pit of his stomach, like the sun was already beating down on him, the spicy air was already in his mane.

Malik didn't look back, he pressed on ahead of the group towards where he'd watched his brother vanish in the jaws of that red monster. He heard his father's warning but ignored it. His father and himeslf alone were large enough to handle the red brute, with the others now they'd be able to handle at least a few lions... it's not like they were planning on over-running the pride. Having the king's son didn't hurt either.

"T'anks for commin' 'long." He glanced over to Mchele, "You probibly 'ad bettah' t'ings tah be doin'."

Rehema trotted past her mother eaglerly, her ears perked up to listen into what the boys were discussing. She was never one to be left out of anything. "So have we got any idea how we're going to get Azize if we even reach the pride's lands? They'll probibly have a guard and none of us look firekin accept Mwali- and they know him as an exile."

It was a serious situation but the lioness was smirking. Finally a chance to do something wild like her parents had always told her when she was young. It was quite exciting.

((Sorry guys, was waiting for LSX or Doomi.))
