PearlZenith Aww, that was sweet of him. I was trying out my rosebud muffin pan today, and I LOVE it. I made lavender spice cake in it, and it turned out really well. I overfilled the muffin cups slightly for the first batch, and my brother sprayed on too much oil, so they didn't totally fill in all the design crevices, but they tasted yummy, and the second batch looked like I hoped for. I wonder what cake I should try next. Ideas? My friend's mother suggested red velvet cake, because it's red like roses. thats sounds so yummy~! *dies from sweet tooth* i would loev to have a cake like that~! mmmm~!

I love Petit Fours. I"ve made them before, and they're worth the effort, in my opinion. I've seen some for sale that have white chocolate as the icing, but I really prefer fondant...although it's a HUGE pain. I like making little flowers and leaves from fondant to decorate the cakes with the best.
Those are good links you posted; I like the first two best. I usually use the Joy of Cooking for all my recipes because they have so much information, and I've never had problems with their recipes not working.

Here are the muffins I made, piled on a boul of raspberries...they look a funny colour because we freeze them as soon as we pick them, and it was warm outside, so they started frosting over. (These are actually a neighbor's raspberries because our canes are not doing so well since they were transplanted. sad His backyard is full of them, so he can't manage to pick them all himself. )

I wasn't sure if this is a snack or a dessert, but I was flicking though the TV early-ish in the morning and it was a cooking program. Normally I don't watch these, but what they were making looked so nice. Chocolate Puff Pastry with Strawberry and Mascarpone CreamI don't know about you but it also sounds beautiful. (By the way, from the website I found out it was a dessert)

I abosolutely love the muffins, too. And, when I went to my cousin's birthday yesterday, his mother had made a GIANT cake with a dragon on top of it. I desperately want a round cake pan as large as hers, now. Some things take lots of effort to make...muffins are the lazy person's cute snack. The petit fours I made in the past were lopsided and funny looking, but they tasted good, so I didn't feel so bad about not making them how they had been imagined in my head. I found out later that there were some easier ways to put the frosting on them. *sigh*

I was so excited, too bad she thinks I am werid that i am a lolita and wouldn't agree to have a tea-party with me. I would love to hear some tips though on how to make them. heart

Once again...my boyfriend did it again... sweatdrop
Since my sewing machine broke he wanted to cheer me up, so he set up a tea-party~! But instead of tea he filled it with a frapphichino drink that he made--he said he will give me the recipe and he bought some little cream puffs.
He such a sweetie~! heart

I wanted to say that I tried the baking911 recipes for petit fours, and it worked excellently. They're still not the easiest or quickest thing to make, but those recipes are well written, and accurate.
I still need to take photos.
