Damalis was happy to change the subject, but was even happier to let go of some of the tension that hung around the thoughts of her past. Her ears flicked as she listened to the soothing natural sounds around the, calming her greatly. "I've seen lots of things, met lots of others... The majority of them crickets and grasshoppers." She joked, tired of the annoying little bugs that happened to pop up everywhere she went. "But I still like meeting new creatures... I've come across lions, jackals... Even a couple cheetahs." She shrugged, resting her head upon her paws. "I just love moving around. And what about you? You say you still have some kind of family with you?"

"Even crickets and grasshoppers have their own version of interesting conversation. Lions and jackals however, are a strange lot. Met a jackal myself, actually. Almost kinda sad to see her go, but she had things to do, people to see as well." Indy chuckled glancing off towards where he'd come from once more. "Ahh....yes. Not much by choice, I assure you, but I do have a cousin roaming around, who finds some of the most inopportune moments to happen upon me. She's umm, what you could say a large pain in the tail." He could've said it a lot worse, his thoughts sure seered that way, but he behaved himself for now. No sight of Badiri on the horizon, so he was still safe.

Damalis laughed. "Ah yes, strange indeed. Though... The jackal I met was only interested in running away." She shifted slightly to get more comfortable position, resting more on her side. She laughed again at his comment about his cousin, quite entertained. "Aw... I'm sure she's not that bad." She joked, also looking out in the distance, keeping an eye out for this so-called 'pain in the tail.' After a moment, she turned her head back to Indy with a crooked grin. "So what have you tried to get rid of her?"

"Well, dropping her off a cliff didn't work. She's like a bad dream. She always keeps turning up. And yes, she's that bad, I assure you. She likes to... embarass me with her endless chatter. Explaining of young childish antics that no one can really be held accountable for, yet she never explains her OWN misdeeds."

Yawning softly, the wild dog male gestured to Damalis. "This jackal you ran across. Was it male or female?" He was curious to know whether it was the same jackal he'd run across. The poor dear was so brightly colored, he was surprised she was willing to trek off on her own.

"Wow" She chuckled "I dont think I've ever met someone like that... And I've met lost of others"

Damalis shifted again, this time resting up comfortably against the trunk of the tree. Sitting between two large roots that stuck out of the ground, she fit in quite well, a snug fit. "Male or female... Hm..." She looked back out in to the distance, trying desperatly to remember the short encounter with the jackal. "You know, I'm not quite sure. I just caught a glimps of... It as it ran away." Se shrugged and rest her head on her paws.

"Be thankful you haven't met her, and hope that you never do." Indy sighed, placing his paws over his eyes for a moment. "She's okay, sometimes, good for something once in a while, but overall, she drives me insane. It's times like these, away from her, that I ENJOY life again, for once."

Nodding to her, Indy sighed. "Probably not her then. She was a brightly colored one, something easily spottable. Orange and yellow I believe... Called herself.... Kaa'samaki. But she wouldn'tve run away. She would've tried talking your ear off so fast you'd have to ask her to repeat a few times before you understood what she said. Then she would've ran off, to find someone else to tell it to. Least, that's the way she was with me, anyway."

"Aw..." She chuckled again, quite ammused. "Just be glad you have someone." She sighed deeply, inhaling the warm scents around them, the wind blowing in some fresh, cooler air. "I'de give anything to have someone tag along with me, no matter how annoying." Damalis added quietly.

Kicking herself mentaly for sounding so desperate, she shook her head and turned her gaze down on the ground. A small, dark colored beetle looking bug scuttled past her as quick as it can, though not quick enough. Damalis pawed at it curiously a couple times, stunning the poor creature. She chuckled and crossed the paw over the other, letting the beetle get away and burrow itself safely under a fallen leaf.

"Hm... I suppose it wasn't her then. Talking was the last thing on this one's mind."

((Sorry hon, got caught up in bird stuff x.x Happy birdeh* XD))

If Indy noticed the change in tone as Damalis spoke, he tried not to show it. "Having someone is indeed a good thing from time to time. But we all need our time to wander off and discover ourselves, rather than have someone point it out for us, as well."

The leaf that the beetle crawled under, was rather close to his own paws. Lifting the leaf, and peeking under it, Indy poked his nose at the bug, only to recieve a face full of stink in return. "AUGHH ACK EEWWWWW" Pawing at his nose, the dark chocolate wild dog tried to rid himself of the smell. "Oh gad yack...nasty little bug aren't you." He glared at the left before moving away from it. "Ick."

"Poor thing, sounds like that jackal might've been rather afraid of you, though why, I couldn't venture to imagine. Where are you from, might I ask?" He himself, and his cousin, were from the southlands, their parents having been from a small pack down there. He was always curious to know where other packs and groups of wild dogs might be.

(( That's alright xD ))

Damalis nodded her head, agreeing. "That is very true." Her tone seemed more at ease and she looked back up. "I suppose you're right."

She watched as Indy poked his nose under the leaf that the beetle had found a hiding place under. She attempted not to laugh as it had apperently given him the gift of it's stink, but failed, for she did anyway. "Aw... Look! He loves you." She teased with another chuckle.

Once her laugher had died down, she focused on the last question he had asked. "My parents were both rogues... Though they seemed to like where they currently weree staying... Where ever they were." She shook her head. "I left too young to really remember. Though... From what I can remember, they told us nothing." She pondered for a moment... What if they had been keeping it a secret? And why?

Indy couldn't help but continue to comically paw at his nose occasionally, both while she laughed, and while she spoke of where she came from. At this point, he wouldn't have been surprised if she'd let out the occasional giggle while she spoke. Some things just had a way of driving him insane and making him look rather silly.

"Well, least they were happy, right? They must've been happy to have had you." Glancing around, he made sure of the fact that they were, still indeed alone, and not being spied on by a certain dark colored dog he was appreciating the break from. "Yack....." Rubbing his nose again, he inched further away from the offending leaf and it's occupant under it. "Rubbish bugs. That's what that was. A rubbish bug." Grumping, Indy rolled over on his back and tried to use his front and back feet to rub the smell off his nose. "Yick ick yick...." He wasn't a very happy dog at the moment, not at all.

Damalis continued to laugh as he attempted to rub the stink off, but finally, the actual smell wafted over to her own nose. With a snort, she began rubbing it with a paw and giggled again. "Ew... That IS gross!"

After a couple of moments, the wave of stink seemed to wander off and Damalis could breath again. With a large sigh, she breathed in a gulp of fresh air and her laughed died off once again. "I think they were happy... That's why it surprised me that none of them decided to come with me." She shook her head, shaking off the memory.

"Well you know what happens to rubbish bugs... Dont you?" With a wide grin, she lifted a paw and brought it down hard on the leaf that the bug had been resting comfortably under.

Indy's ears flattened as she began to rub at her own nose from the stench of the bug stink. What an impression to make on a pretty lady. Shove your nose under a leaf and end up smelling like some unholy, undead creature from the depths of an elephant dung heap.

He slowly perked up his ears as she asked if he knew what happened to the bugs. "I wouldn't...." But it was too late, she'd already squashed the leave in which the bug resided under. In a flash, Indy was on his feet and urging her away from the area. "Rubbish bugs leave off an even worse stink when they're squashed. We might want to umm...find another place to sit. This whole tree is going to reek for a good long time...." Already the smell was wafting up from beneath the fallen greenery, causing Indy's eyes to water slightly.

Damalis's eyes began to water and her nose was filled with the familliar stench of the bug. Quickly, she regretted her actions deeply and she jumped to her paws with a grunt. "Oops..." She mumbled out loud. Cursing to herself silently, she shook her head madly, as if attempting to wave away the bad smell that filled the air around them. "Lets get out of here."

She didn't spend another second where she stood and began padding quickly to the end of the shadow that the great tree provided. "That was smart..." she mumbled again, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Looks like she was going to learn that lesson the hard way.

Chuckling, Indy padded off behind Damalis, shaking his head occasionally to knock his brain loose of the stench that still haunted his memory. "So, what are you hoping, to find in your travels? Anything in particular?"

Stepping his pace up to a trot, Indy headed towards what appeared to be a tiny bush in the distance. "Looks like another tree. If we hurry, we'll be there in no time. Hopefully rubbish bugs won't be there before us!"

Happy to get out of the way of the smelly tree, Damalis took in a breath offresh, sweet, warm air. Getting out of the shade, the sun beat back down on her, slightly lighter this time, but it was still very warming. "I'm not sure what I'm looking for, actually. Meet new people..." She looked over at Indy and grinned. "Which I dont seem to be having trouble with lately." And she looked forward again.

Picking up the pace to match Indy's, she looked out into the distance to where he had pointed out the tree. "Looks like it... Lets go."
