Dude, what an awesome paper! I hope everyone who passes through here, Christian and non-Christian alike, at least skims through that. I think you outlined most of the major concerns people have with Christianity quite well.

Thank you very much^_^. Do you have any ideas as to how I can fine tune it? I feel like I'm missing something...

Okay.
Expressing opinion: cool

A very long post, but I agree with the point you are making. People should see that Christianity is indeed a loving religion, and Christians should follow the principles of lovingkindness and mercy. . . Jesus was merciful and full of lovingkindness. heart He cared for people. He healed the sick, made blind men see, the deaf hear, and the lame walk. . . 3nodding He was kind, not only to men, but women as well, and His ministry was made known to all nations. He accepted sinners, he welcomed sinners. heart

3nodding Today, with a reflective mind, when we do certain things, we can ask ourselves, "Would Jesus do this?" When we watch certain things on TV, we can ask, "Would Jesus watch this?" When we behave a certain way toward people, we can ask, "Would Jesus behave that way toward them?" . . . ninja

stare Okay, not all Christians ask themselves "What would Jesus do?" but one of things that we are supposed to achieve as Christians is the molding of our very spirit and attitude like that of our Master's while we are in the world, so we could all know what He is like for ourselves and be familiar with it. . .

This includes:

Mercy: and you give it even to those who DON'T deserve it. smile
Lovingkindness: Show it to all, even if they hate you. . . heart
Justness: Being fair to all, even if they're unfair to you. . . 3nodding
Selflessness: Umm. . . yeah, giving to others and not holding back blaugh
. . .
There's more to describe our God. . . Hey, I'm not saying that we all should act like we're omnipotent and almighty, but you understand what I'm talking about. . . wink

I know I'm probably rambling on and on about something that probably doesn't pertain to the topic, but if Christians in the past had only managed to be just as loving, merciful, and accepting as we're supposed to be today, maybe we wouldn't have such a bad rep. . . confused xp xp xp sweatdrop

You wouldn't believe the amount of people I've spoken to who said mean things about it. I believed what they said before.

in my opinion, heck yeah. If Christians in the past hadn't been so...mean to lots and lots of people, then Christianity wouldn't have as bad a rap. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone really. I, like everyone else, make mistakes and do opposite of what Christ taught sometimes, but when I read things like Slavery and the Crusades and how many european christians did whatever they wanted to non-christians, I think that's what causes all this hatred toward us. Before I became Christian, I hated Christians for those reasons.

Oh. . . I preached something right. xd In the Bible, it says that love covers all sins, a multitude of sins. biggrin I guess then in my other post, I was just preaching love.

This Topic means a great deal to me. It's originally how Thwarp and I met.

God personally predestined this. It was a devine appointment. I love when God makes connetions with people.

Jamesy has taught me (and grown!) so much and I love his little pinky toes.

...well I guess i love the rest of him too..

It was definitely a devine appointment. Because of my big sis here, God has shown me His undying love for everyone. Best appointment ever. blaugh
