Chiboa was disgusted. "I just stole your prey. The least you can do is be unhappy with it", Chiboa said with a frown, feeling guilt sweep through his mind.
He reached out a forepaw and pushed it farther towards her. "Please, just take it", he said with disgust, his lip curling in distaste when she apologized about the size. She's just a cub, he thought with a sigh. I can find a good steal elsewhere.

She watches him carefully with a frown, wondering why he'd want anyone to be unhappy with him. Her eyes fall back down to the bird that he pushes closer to her, happy to have it back but finding herself not as hungry as before from the look on his face.
"Thank you," Kari mutters, deciding that it may have been her apology that made him so disgusted and making a point of not saying it again. She glances back up from the bird, trying to figure out a way to act unhappy about it like he said but not really finding a way.

"Look, it's okay", Chiboa said with a roll of his eyes, and the thrust of his chin. "There is plenty of prey out there", he said with an apologetic glance, although secretly he doubted his own assurance. The season was brutal, and the prey found was either of unsuitable size or sickly and weak. The thought it made the young male's stomach twist, reminding him of when he last eaten.
He peered down at the cheetah with icy, cold eyes. She was more scrappy than even he. He nodded slightly, feeling his heart twist sadly. With the flick of his tail, he turned and began padding away.

Chuakari looks back and fourth between the wild dog and the prey sadly, still in hopes of finding some way to make things better again. Her eyes stop on the bird again, long enough for him to get a chance to begin leaving.
"We could share," she says quietly, watching him go. It'd be the easiest possible solution, though she doesn't speak loud enough to be certain he'd hear her. Her previous comments hadn't been received well, she's hesitant to try again.
With a sigh, she sits down and stares at the dead bird at her feet.

Chiboa's ears perked. "Really?", he asked with hesitance, spinning around. His expression displayed the shock he felt rippling through his mind. Normally, the rogue would have huffed and continued on, too embarrassed to eat beside a cheetah cub. However, the gurgling of his stomach alerted the young male how hungry he truly was.
"Fine", Chiboa said with a cold look, trying to look the least bit grateful. He dipped his maw into the bird and ripped off a wing. He nodded towards the cheetah, a glimmer of thanks flashing in his icy eyes, before turning his bushy tail on her and trotting away with the wing.

"Yes," Kari nods, pleased to see him turn back around, and then she nudges the bird forward again for the wild dog to help himself. She watches him anxiously, not liking the cold look but the knowledge that he can't possibly be completely upset with her is enough to keep her still and quiet. When the nod is given, she catches the brief glance of thankfulness, and gives a small smile in return.
"Bye," she calls this time, and then picks up the bird to take the rest of the prey back to the tree.
