The Gift
"A plain Jar.. was this some kind of cruel joke?" Kasumoto thought as he staried at the odd base that the vase was sitting upon. He was still wearing his labcoat and gloves. He worked as a biologist in Gaia and today was his birthday. He stared over at Eiko, wondering if this was seriously her gift. " What am I to do with this Bloody put flowers in it?" He questioned sarcastically.
Eiko shoot him a dirty look. " No Kasu.. I explained the o30 Project to you last week.. and you had told me then you were interested.. have you not the courage to at least test it?" She asked, ruby tresses cascading down her back and golden eyes flashing in anger.
Kasu sighed. There was just no telling this woman no and he figured that if nothing else, perhaps it might be an interesting experiment. He decided that he had no real gift for a jar that might suit it and that this process would be one he needed to deeply ponder if what she had explained actually came to fruitation.
As he was pondering, a large bumblebee drifted in fromt he open window and landed on the outer rims of the jar. It had paused in its movement there, as if with its tiny sensors, it was testing this most unusual surface. But the unfortunate creature made an error of judgement, as an invisible force drew it into the jar and held it there like glue.
The biologist had not seen this occur but when he heard the angry buzzing of the big bee, he turned around ad was baffled as he seen the bee just simply vanish. It was almost like it went into another plane of exsistance. " Damn it.. well.. guess the jar chose its own gift.. now to wait and see what happens.."
