To me, the Mitsuki in the anime isn't realistic. You really can't compare them either because the circumstances are different. In the manga Mitsuki has known all along that Eichi is dead and she blames herself for the deaths of everyone around her. Of course she's going to be a little self-centered. She's completely drowning in sadness. She hates herself because she never told Eichi how she feels, so everything to her is dedicated to Eichi.
The Mitsuki in the anime has no idea Eichi is dead and is just a happy girl because of it. Until she finds out Eichi is dead, she is only a happy girl. There are really no complications.
So, I like the Mitsuki in the manga better because she's more realistic to me.
