In wiki, there's a discussion about whether or not her story is valid. There's controversy over it.
I'd be skeptical too if it would disrupt my entire platform.
At any rate, I can't really imagine being told that I'm an abortion survivor. How do you look at your mother the same way? "I understand you tried to kill me mom. It's okay. It's because of your choice that I'm disabled and my whole life has been an uphill battle with my disability, but yay for you choosing to kill me! I can tell you love me so much more than if you'd waited two months and adopted me out."

Plus if they weren't valid and could never happen don't you think there'd be more rukus from PP or NOW? Yet they seem oddly silent over these happenings.

Oh I know. I'm just pointing out there's controversy, so people who use this had better be prepared to face it.

lymelady Oh I know. I'm just pointing out there's controversy, so people who use this had better be prepared to face it. Oh I know. XD I'm just saying, there's lots of ways to back up the story.
There was one such case in Britain last year, or the year before as well AND the story was on a news website that's unbiased. It's not a pro-life or pro-choice website, or christian or atheist. It's just a regular news site.
When I brought up these stories before all that was said was "Well that happened a long time ago, can't you come up with something more recent?" and then I brought up the one in Britain and then they wouldn't believe THAT one. So I had to go digging for my source. Which I don't even think I have any more. >.<

She is a beautiful young woman, I agree. I've seen only one such woman so brave and strong as Ms. Jessen, but she spoke on the opposite side of the issue. (I won't give details. I don't want to cause trouble.) I find it interesting that her "long lost sister" is on the opposite side, yet they did the exact same thing! heart
I might be pro-choice, but I do applaude Ms. Jessen.

divineseraph i'm pretty surprised. that'd be like a jew willingly heiling hitler while sucking down a 5-gallon bucket of pork. Sadly enough that has happened, there was a movie based on him, the believer I think it was called.

No, she was a young woman forced to go through with unwanted pregnacies etc. and being harrassed by people.

You have one human being forced to give up a few months of their time compared to another who is being forced to give up their mortasl life. I honostly fail to see the comparason.

yes, seeing as one is bitching about losing the right to negate the results and consequences of... A DECIDED, THOUGHT OUT CHOICE while the other is bitching that she was forced into a lifetime of learning disabilities, speach impediments and limited muscle function because of something SOMEONE ELSE LEGALLY CHOSE to do.
one person has to deal with the consequences of their actions. the other was forced into a disability because of figure one's lack of acceptance of responsibility.

What adversities did she face? Hmm, that didn't come out right. What I mean is, what did she face in life where she had to work so hard to be able to live her life the way most people do? With Ms. Jessen we know it's because of cerebral palsy caused by a botched abortion. Was the woman you speak of disabled by childbirth or something?
