Every time I think Hisoka I think of the one from Yami no Matsuei... ^^; Actually, I think of HoKa from the Yami no Matsuei guild, who is actually the person who got me into Death Note so that's actually kinda funny...

Well, up to now it looks good. The description shows that they're spelling Light's name the way the creator wants it, and they didn't seem to mess up anything story wise, either.

At least VIZ isn't trying to put it in the regular Shonen Jump. *is about to say something that may insult some* Those little kiddies who worship crappy manga like Naruto wouldn't appreciate Death Note even slightly. KYAAHHH! I got the first volume todaaaaaaay! biggrin
It's actually not bad! I haven't seen any gaping errors or anything... There's obviously some differences from the scanalations, but as I'm taking a Japanese class right now, it really hits me how hard some things are to translate... so that's okay.
The only thing that I actually noticed that could be better is the "L, do you know" note. Instead of having it as
L.......
D.......
O.....
Y....
O....
U.....
K....
N....
O....
W......
They had it as
L.....
Do....
You.......
Know....
Which isn't bad, but it's a little more akward to see if you don't know what it's supposed to be, because of course L is just the first part of the word Lord, so at first glance it looks like it says "Lord do you know"....
BUT other then that it is teh awsome. There might be more stuff wrong with it, but I suck at noticing that kind of stuff, so I don't know of anything else. (And I'm not kidding when I say that I suck at noticing this stuff. I didn't even notice that there was a whole person missing in a panel at one point in Yami no Matsuei... And that person was quite important to that panel... And I had the scanalations so I knew he was supposed to be there...)
So anyway, yayness!
