Day 1 : The Legacy Begins
"Huff...hoo...haah..." Raein breathed heavily. The sun was high in the air, and its merciless rays were unrelenting. "Gawd its so damn hot!" she cursed. Sitting down under the stuffy shade of a Lollypop tree, she opened her waterbottle and took a swig. Sighing, she got up and started her hike north east, also known as the last area of Numa Numa Land left she hadn't explored. I wonder what I'll find... she thought.
Only a couple of months ago, Raein had stumbled into the magical candy-filled land called Numa Numa Land, where sweet creatures evidently called Numas resided...
She could remember that fateful day like it was yesterday. Raein found a gaily decorated letter in her mailbox, with a set directions to "the paradise you've been waiting for". Now, to Raein, recently laid off from her minor job summer job at the Barton Jewelers (The reason for her firing being reports of shop employee downsizing...), any kind of paradise seemed wonderful enough. There was still a month and a half left of her summer vacation before returning to her school in Durem. She figured it wouldn't hurt too much to go check it out before going back to her own personal hell.
Unfortunately, Raein had the bright idea of /NOT/ reading all the directions through before setting off. So there she was, in the middle of the Barton Trench, with directions that read; 9) Once in middle of Barton Trench, spin in a circle 5 times while throwing aforementioned cherry up int he air, clapping before catching aforementioned cherry. 10) Eat aforementioned cherry. 11) Throw aforementioned cherry's pit into the Barton Trench. 12) Close your eyes and count to 187. 13) With eyes still closed, shout, "I LIKE TO MOVE IT MOVE IT!" as loud as you can. 14) Open eyes, and paradise you'll find!
Raein ground her teeth, looked to the left, looked to the right, and followed the steps to the t. After screaming direction 11, Raein mumbled "Pssh, what an idiot I am for following those dorky instructions! I most obviously am on Candid Camera..." Grunting, she opened her eyes and did not see what she expected.
What once was the barren Barton Trench, was now rolling hills of emerald green mint grass, Lollypop trees laden with all sorts of delectable suckers, bubbling brooks of lemonade, sparkling soda filled lakes teeming with swedish fish...What kind of paradise is this?! she thought, her mouth already drooling. Still half shocked, Raein headed off into a random direction and collapsed under a candy apple tree, closing her eyes and waiting to wake up.
For the past few weeks, she had trekked all across Numa Numa Land, her journey ending in the north east corner of Numa Numa Land. Frankly, she didn't know what the hell she'd find. Raein saw Lollypop Forests, Candycane Fields, and Gumdrop Mountains, she thought she was ready for anything! Alas, what she was about to find, would rock her world.
With another long sigh, she strode onward, toward the north east, where the sun was giving its full attention to her. Soon, the sun would be setting and although it was summer, a cool mist would settle upon Numa Numa Land, becoming tomorrows dew. During night, it could get very cold.
"Ugh...my feet are aching!" Raein exclaimed to no one in particular. "Thank god its time to set up camp!" Muttering about 'cursed rocks in my shoe' to herself, she took out her sleeping bag from her bagpack and unrolled it. Then, she arranged rocks in a circle and piled dry branches in the center. Taking out some rocks from her pack, she lit a fire and crawled into sleeping bag, all the while mumbling about chicken stew and pot roast...
