"Terrified? Terrified?! how much more terrified could you have been if he had killed you? I was terrified. I thought he had...it sounded like.. I mean I couldn't see it. I couldn't even do anything to prevent it and he could have killed you. So I lost it..." He breathed standing to his feet. "I'm sorry you had to see that side of me but I already told you I would never harm you... I lo- damnit!" He hovered over her glaring at the ground. "Fine I'll leave if that's what you want." He said suddenly then turned abruptly to move away from her.

The whole conversation had turned incredibly surreal. They were at a school. Things like this were not supposed to happen at schools. You were supposed to be safe and the biggest problems you were supposed to have were pimples, homework, and gaining the attentions of the opposite sex. You weren't supposed to be terrified out of your wits and uncertain if some knife wielding psycho was waiting for you around some corner. Your boyfriend wasn't supposed to threaten you one moment and then try to tell you he did it because he loved you? She started to hyperventilate and reached up to put her hands over her head.
"I... can't breathe," she managed to say.

Thanatos got a fraction of a distance away before hearing her destressed words. He blinked a moment wondering what was going on then came to her side to find her hunched over. Kneeling before her he reached out to take examine her face, it was a bit clamy. "Juvel you need to go rest." He said then and lifted her in his arms uncaring of her protests. "I'll take you to your room. After that you won't have anything to do with me, okay?" he said sighing softly.

Obie looked up when he touched her face and started to push against him as he put his arms around her to lift her up, but she had no more strength and instead wrapped her arms loosely around him, keeping her eyes closed tightly so that she wouldn't have to see the people they passed or look into the face that had terrified her only moments earlier or allow the tears in her eyes to fall. Jess was right. This school was suffocating her.

Thanatos frowned at her actions, back to square one. He thought, she would not trust him ever again he figured and it hurt to think he went through all that only to have her terrified of him. Sighing he took in small breaths trying not to over do it with his injuries. He wasn't even suppose to be carrying her right now but ignored the pain to make sure she got back to her room to rest. He would probably leave her be and head to his own room as well.
As they walked a few students came up to him to congradulate him but he didn't have time for that and pushed passed them. He didn't feel like a hero, he only did what he did cause of the circumstances. His mind went to the girl in his arms then, she was so small in his opinion and yet she had a lot of power over him.
"Do you really hate me that much? Am I really so frieghtening?" He asked her in whispered tones as they came up to the dorms.

She shook her head no, then realized he wouldn't see it and took a deep, painful breath. "No," she whispered. "I don't hate you, but I am scared of you. I've been scared of you since we first met," she admitted, resisting the urge to tighten her arms around him as they walked into the dorms.

"Why?" he said so childishly... "I haven't done anything to harm you...have I?" he asked. Nothing was making any sense anymore. A lot had transpired until getting to this point and now he just didn't know what else to do. "I though you were scared I would break your heart. I'm trying to be careful of that but it seems like everything I do comes back to haunt me." he was referring to a lot of things. He faulted in his steps a bit a pain in his side eating at him. He stood there a moment not wanting to alarm Obsidian. After the pain passed he began walking again taking in a long ragged breath.

"Put me down please. I can walk," she said softly, looking up to catch the pained expression on his face. "And it's not because you have harmed me, it's what you do to me. What you've done to me since we first crossed paths. But you're dangerous Nato. Dangerous on many levels and I'm not strong enough."

"No." he said continuing to hold her and made it inside the dorms by this time. "Dangerous?" that was familiar, hadn't someone told him that before? He couldn't remember who but the voice had always told him how dangerous he was. "Am I really or could it be that you give me too much credit? And what have I done to you? Stop being so vague and just tell me what you want from me?"

"I want you to put me down. I want you to walk away and forget about me. I want to... to forget about you. It's over between us and I don't want to try any more. I can't take any more and I'm tired of hurting you," she said softly, starting to struggle a little against him to make him put her down.

He whinced slightly as she pushed against him this caused him to let his grip on her go; he could only let her to her feet but he didn't let her go as he brought her into a warm hug. "You only hurt me when you do this." He said softly. "Running away from me hurts. Making me endure this alone hurts. Knowing I scare you and that you want to forget about me...all of that hurts." He hugged her tightly breathing in small gasps. "Tell me that night in the dark room...be honest didn't you feel anything?" He was still holding her unwilling to back away least she run and he'd never see her again.

"I'll be honest with you Thanatos... no, I did not," she said in an emotionless voice. She didn't struggle against him, but did not return the embrace. She stood like an ice statue in his arms. It was for the best, she kept telling herself. It was for the best.

A dark aura came over him then. He let his arms drop from around her and slide to his side. It was at this moment he wished he could see her, that he could show her just how hurt and angry he was. He for the most part did not believe her. There was no way to fake something like that at least not on his part. "Lies." He said simply he turned away from her then. "You lie..." he repeated whirling around he walked up to her causing her to press into the wall at her side. "Why do you have to lie? Why did you let me gain your trust if you knew you were going to take it away?! Why did you allow me to fall in love with you if you were going to run away?" He screamed at her by this time lifting his had up he balled it into a fist and punched the wall behind her inches from her head.
"Izumi..." he whispered the name. Turning away from her then he held his sides. The stress of the moment was doing a number on his aching sides. He bent to his knees to gather a bit of air glaring blankly at the ground. "Fine then. I'll leave you alone. I'll disappear back into my world of darkness..." he said softly standing to his feet he walked past her wobbling slightly at the base of the stairs. He took them one at a time holding on to the railing weakly as he went. His mind was abuzz with thoughts...all of which just recyled themselves and focused on the cause. Izumi. The next time the met it wouldn't be pretty.

Again fear swept over her as the darkness descended over him. She pressed herself against the wall as he turned on her. She closed her eyes as he shouted at her and a tear rolled down her cheek when she opened them again when said that he loved her. She took a shaky breath then jumped as he slammed his fist into the wall next to her head. She remained plastered against the wall as he turned away from her. She didn't even flinch as he fell to his knees. She let the breath she had been holding out slowly as he rose to his feet and walked away from her. She peeled herself from the wall and turned her back to him, walked shakily back to her room.~ Fade to Black ~
