Did she do all that? The mass panic, the confusion, the shrieks and wails? It was awful, it was frightening. Man, she was good.
Rolling her eyes at the gem's elation, Ying plucked it from midair, holding the struggling stone in one hand, Yeine's arm in the other. "Come on Yeinie, let's go," the girl whispered, trying to blend in with the crowd.
Much damper than she had been moments ago both physically and in mood, Yeine hissed at Ying's touch, causing the Jumi to step back instinctively. Before either of them could express anything, Yeine pulled her arm away and rubbed it gently. "I can walk by myself."
"F-fine..." Too taken aback to say more, Ying separated herself slightly from the screaming group. Where were the others? And come to think of it, what were their names?

"" Miroku laughed, giving the wall another kick. He hadn't had so much fun in ages! In fact, the last time he had enjoyed causing trouble like this -- spooking the other children -- was years and years and years ago. Pretending to be a poltergeist, even for such a short time, was amazingly fun.
"" Kuro mumbled, and wandered off to find that pesky light switch. He didn't quite approve of using scare tactics to escape from a boring class, but it seemed to be effective. Besides, the teacher was holding Mayu down with his horrible techniques! The girl had such potential, she didn't deserve to be anchored down by an incompetent teacher. It was for the best, he repeated to himself like a mantra, as he began to flicker the lights.
They were like.. ants. And they were playing with the ant line. Moments before, everyone in the class was tending to their own business, them in the back talking, the other students doing various tasks around the room, the teacher spouting off nonsense again. They had been walking in a neat line, before she and the others stepped in to mess it up.
There could have been a better way to get out of the class, but they had chosen the path of chaos. The Legend kept a blank face as she shuffled into the crowd as well, but she didn't quite approve of the way they had chosen either. Her good upbringing wrestled control with the bits and pieces she had learned from Kimiko and Miyu, with their strange humor and even stranger tastes.
Well, at least the ghosts were having fun. Mayu looked up, eyes searching the crowd for her new friends. Had they gotten out, yet? Verde was the first to leave, so she was probably already outside, but what about the two pink ones?
Pushing herself out the door, the silver-haired child stepped aside to allow the flow of people to continue, and began to search through the crowd for her sister and new friends. She opened her mouth to say their names, and then realized that she didn't know them. She would have to ask later, when they caught up.
The Jumi stood off to the side, watching the people push and shove as they fought to get outside the door. Was her big sister out yet? After a few moments, her eyes caught the girl's red kimono and smiled, waiting for her older sister to reach her. Two more to go, and they could leave!
"Ver~de! Have you seen the other two come out yet?" Mayu cried, rushing to her little sister.
"No, they're not out yet." Verde frowned, taking ahold of the Legend's hand. They didn't want to get separated in the rush -- people were running everywhere.
The flickering of the lights simply made the people panic more, and louder screams were emitted as the ones remaining in the room fought to make it out first. It was almost like terrorism on a small-scale level, except no one got hurt.. badly, at least. A few people had bruises on their heads from knocking their craniums as they stumbled around in panic and confusion. Aside from that, though, no one was hurt.

Tsavorite struggled frantically against her bond's tight hold, but it was no use. Sometimes it was really annoying being small and insignificant- to others, in their misguided minds. But at least it was mostly dark in Ying's hand. The rapidly changing lights were rather distracting, even from inside.
"Savvy, hold still," Ying scolded, but her voice had no bite to it. Since Yeine's slight outburst, she was feeling a bit hurt, and guilty as well. Yeine hadn't wanted to leave the class at all. But there wasn't much she could do about it anymore, except to make sure that all of them had fun. Spotting the others, who made it out ahead, she waved and started towards them.
Following closely behind, Yeine's shoulders were slumped, but her hair was on end. She was unnerved, wary of all the chaos, angry that it had happened, but upset with herself for having lashed out. She had given into anger, which was something Jedi were never supposed to do. Some apprentice she was.
Sensing some of the Cathar's distress, Ying carefully patted her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Yeinie." To the others she was somewhat more cheery. "It worked! So, where to now? I think the class was... this way?"
"Which means it's the other way," Yeine argued, her voice more pleasant. "Ying couldn't find her way out of a paper bag sometimes."

Miroku laughed. Ah, he was a pro at this! Making his way over to Kuro, he clapped the ghost on the back and grinned.
""
The other sighed and nodded, releasing the light switch. He still didn't like the idea of using scare tactics to escape from an undesirable class, but the teacher was really getting on his nerves. Mayu chuckled, and nodded to the two.
"That way, then! Come on, I think Verde's already found her way out of the crowd."
She paused, realizing that they had busted out of the class together without even giving each other their names. Well, now would be an opportune time to ask, wouldn't it?
"Say, what are your names, anyway? Mine is Mayu, and my little sister's is Verde," the Legend said, waving a hand to her new friends as she stepped behind two shivering boys. It was funny how they were acting so tough before, but broke down with a little scare.

All of that- the plotting, the escape- with people whose names she didn't even know? Yeine couldn't help but let out a chuckle at that, amused even through her frustration. "My name is Yeine, and my friend is Ying. It's a pleasure to meet you both."
"Yes, it is!" Ying chimed in, thoroughly pleased that Yeine seemed to be loosening up. Awesome as she was, the Jedi Apprentice took things far too seriously for her own good. And these girls seemed like they would be fun to have fun with. "You're sisters? You don't look alike."

"Alright! So you're Yeine and Ying." Mayu pointed to each girl as she said their names, memorizing them for later. "And yes, we're sisters. We live together, after all -- of course, that would make Miyu our sister too, and I don't believe she's related to me at all.."
The Legend looked up, and whispered sharply. "Come on, let's move before they start to go back in, so we can get far away before they realize we're not here!"
With that, she ducked below the overstretched arm of a girl and moved out of the crowd quickly, joining the dark-skinned jumi at the far stretch of people.
"So you made it," Verde said, with a gentle smile. "Can we leave yet?"
"Yes! We just have to wait for Yeine and Ying, and Miroku and Kuro." Standing on tip-toes, she searched the crowd for the two faces.

Ducking under a wave of people, Yeine started crawling towards the end of the wall. The students were still frenzied, so they passed very quickly, allowing Yeine to leap to her feet and brush herself off.
Ying was slightly more delayed, choosing to push her way through the crowd. By the time she got to the others she purposely avoided Yeine's stubborn gaze and smiled sweetly at the others. "You know, we live together too. But we're not sisters. Right, Yeinie?"
"That's right," Yeine agreed slowly, as though her mind was elsewhere.
"Yep. Well anyway, I think the art class was..."
Before Ying could get them lost and into even more trouble, Yeine quickly lept into action. "It was that way," she said, walking in that direction before anyone else could argue. "It's not too far, I think."

Aha, there they were! It wouldn't have been much of a plan if they had gotten separated in the process of escaping.
"Well, maybe it's different for everyone?" Mayu mused, and shrugged. She had always considered Verde to be a sister, even if they weren't related by blood.. Miyu, too. And she considered Kimiko to be her mother, though they weren't related by blood either. Perhaps different people had different definitions for those words. She would have to ask Kimi about it when she got home.
Looking up, the silver-haired child noticed Yeine walking away from the group, and immediately followed after. She wasn't quite familiar with the place, and she certainly didn't want to get lost by herself.
Verde nodded to Ying, hair bobbing in a comical gesture.
"We've always referred to each other as sisters, even if we don't share the same blood." With that statement, she began to follow after the two girls that had already gone ahead. It was best to slip out while the crowd was still worked up, after all. There would be less of a chance of them being caught if they were still focused on the distraction their transparent companions had provided.

"DS-okaasan says we're all family, but I think that's different," Ying commented. It wasn't that she didn't love Yeine, or didn't want her to be a sister. But Yeine was a boarder, an exchange student. And she was... what? Little more, really. It was a confusing concept.
Definitely thinking about something else, Yeine sped her pace up slightly so she was in the front. That way, she wouldn't have to look at anyone, and she could calm herself down a little. It was just a memory, after all.
So Yeine was at the front. That worked. Ying dropped behind a little, bending over as she walked to talk to the shorter of the two girls. "Verde, wasn't it? Have we met before? At Etansel, or somewhere else?"
At least this time she'd picked up on the fact that the other girl was a Jumi, so she didn't have to be shocked by it. She could bring it up in a slightly less tactless manner.

"Well, I don't know. I guess it depends on your definition of a sibling, yeah?" Mayu said, nodding. She hadn't really thought about it before this, all she knew was that Miroku and Kuro and everyone at home were family. This was all too confusing.
Thinking of the two ghosts, the Legend pirouetted to see if they were following behind. Perhaps they were still back in the karate room?
"Yes, Verde." The dark-skinned Jumi nodded. "You don't have to bend down to my height," she said, giving a chuckle. It was a bit funny, how older people felt that they always needed to bend down to a child's height to have a proper discussion.
"I don't think we've met before," Verde said, pondering. What was this 'Etansel'? Curious.
"Etansel..?" she asked, in an interested tone.
""
The two ghosts struggled to catch up, running along the length of the hallway as fast as they could. Or rather, it was Miroku doing all of the running, and Kuro being dragged along.
Kuro let out a loud protest as he was lugged down the hallway by the other man, and by his ponytail, no less. Although it didn't hurt a bit, it was still a bit embarassing to be seen dragged along by his long hair.
"" Miroku said, running up to the rest of the "gang". Releasing the other man's ponytail, he crossed his arms in a childish way and huffed. Kuro grunted as he was let loose, brushing some imaginary dust off of his yukata.
Ignoring the two ghosts' arrival, Mayu spoke up with the infamous question.
"Are we there yet?" A grin.

So this girl didn't know what Etansel was? That was strange. Ying was positive that she was a Jumi- after all, they had a certain feel to them- but for her to not know of their home...
Trying to remain subtle was impossible now. Instead, Ying smiled and pulled down the front of her shirt slightly, revealing a large pink stone. If THAT didn't make it clear, what would?
Recovered from her reverie somewhat, Yeine cast a suffering glance behind her. They were supposed to be in class, learning, not wandering the halls! Still, she nodded. "Soon, I think. It's a big building."

So the girl had a big rock on her chest. It didn't make it any clearer for the confused Jumi, sadly, and she shook her head slowly.
"I'm afraid I don't understand," Verde said, and pointed to the core. "What's the significance of this stone?"
"Maybe we should find a map," the Legend wondered, looking about her. She wasn't trying to offend, but the hallways seemed so endless that if they made the wrong turn, they would be wandering around for days.
Of course, she did have to learn to trust other people sometimes. Quickening her pace to that of Yeine's, Mayu stepped alongside the other girl and gave a grin. If Verde was making conversation with Ying, and the ghosts were chattering between themselves, then she should start up a conversation with Yeine too, right? She didn't want herself nor the other girl to feel left out, after all. Now, there was the matter of choosing the right thing to say...

Now Ying was almost as confused as Verde, and showed it. She was positive, truly positive, that the other girl was a Jumi. She'd felt that same radiance as she had from the others. There was no way she could be mistaken.
Probably.
In a bit of desperation, Ying asked "You have one too, don't you? A stone, here? Your core?"
The idea of finding a map inside a building struck Yeine as slightly silly, but it did make her smile. "I'm not sure they have maps. But I am pretty certain we're almost there."
And then she was back to walking. Unlike her talkative friend, Yeine wasn't one who spoke without having something to say, though she would speak if spoken to. But drills of children being seen and not heard were difficult to forget.

"A core?" Verde asked, then shook her head. Well, she wasn't quite sure -- she didn't really pay attention to what was down there, anyway. Was she supposed to?
Lifting her shirt gingerly, the child peeked inside. The core gleaming back up at her gave her quite a surprise, and she nearly jumped as the bright green gem twinkled as if winking up at her.
"...What is this?" Verde asked slowly, now thoroughly confused. The other girl had a rock like hers, except in a different color. She would be able to explain things, and she wanted answers FAST. She knew she wasn't a human like Kimiko, nor a Legend like Mayu, and of course not an elf like Miyu -- no pointy ears. The rock just complicated things more.
She gave Ying a questioning look, waiting for some response.
"Do you think? I mean, they have those big bolted maps at the mall, and they hand out maps at the museum, so they might have one here.. It is a big building. But I'll take your word for it, I guess."
Mayu wasn't really one to question something that was told to her, so she wouldn't go on with the 20 questions game. Even if she was quite sure that there would be some kind of map around the building somewhere. Especially for the kids that had to walk alone like they, because although the community center may have seemed small to the adults, it looked absolutely gigantic to the young Legend.
In an attempt to start up more conversation, the girl resorted to the basics of making small talk. Of course, she wasn't quite good at picking one that was appropriate for the situation.
"How's the weather?" Mayu said, and gave a cheesy grin.

Ying blinked back dumbly, a bit shocked by Verde's question. Was it really possible for the younger Jumi to never have noticed her core? And people called HER a space case! Either way, it seemed that she was expected to give a facts of life speech, making Ying wish she was more bookish in a way.
"Uh. It's your core. Your heart, sort of. All Jumi- that's what we are- have cores. But you have to make sure to take care of yours, and make sure it doesn't crack or scratch, since that would hurt you." That part was important to mention, but since Verde had only asked what a core was, Ying figured her explanation was good enough. Maybe someone like Crystal would know more, but she didn't!
What was that girl chattering about? Yeine didn't mean to seem cold, but she was focusing on finding her way and wasn't really paying attention, so she just nodded indifferently. Hopefully they would be there in a couple more turns.
