"Ramen?" Come closer said the spider to the fly. With an indulgent chuckle, he nodded his head. "How... spontaneous." Maybe she would prove to be the same over other areas as well.
What a delightful thought.
"I know Hadrian, one of the mages quite well. It will be ... worthwhile, to have the two of you meet soon. Why don't I arrange something?"
Two birds with one stone! And with that thought, he offered Natalie his arm again. "Don't worry." he said, smiling slowly. "I don't hurt women."

What an odd way to phrase that... she thought, taking his arm gingerly.
"Well, I haven't had a chance to go shopping for food... and it was on hand. So I boiled some up and added actual pasta sauce." She shrugged.
"Oh. Hm.... yeah, that'd probably be a good idea. I could talk him into letting me see the little ball of energy stage, right?" Natalie laughed. "I feel like I'm so out of the loop, when it comes to caring for my... Ames? It sounds weird when I say it like that. It'll be so much easier once I know if it's my 'son' or my 'daughter'..."

Thorn nodded. Patting her arm with his other and making sure that she was more or less secure, he smiled, tilting his head and wearing a rather intent, focused expression. Because he was really listening to her words. If only to file them away for later use.
"Of course. What a marvelous idea. I'll give you my card, Natalie, and arrange the meeting." he smiled. See? Then he could meet Hadrian with Marc sulking (that man's moodswings cost him money!) and this younger girl too. Younger. But not necessarily young.
Young would mean illegal.
"A young son or a daughter. I'm surprised you've joined. A girl fresh in college with a child?" he winked. "People would think scandalous thoughts, Natalie."
So what if the last word was purred? He was thinking those thoughts already. A child wouldn't make a difference.

"That sounds great!" she chirped. "Thanks a lot."
At the comment about her future child... well, she hadn't thought of it that way. "Er. Good... point... well. Nobody at my college really has to know, I suppose. And I'm sure there are plenty of people here I could convince to babysit for me while I'm off at class. I mean... it's not like I'll be showing up to school pregnant.
"And if anybody catches me with her, I'll just say she's my... er... friend's kid. Or a distant relative. Or something. ... yeah.
"Because if I said she was mine... well, it'd be pretty awkward. Seeing as how I'm not... seeing anybody." Well, she was. But... er... nobody really knew about that, and it wasn't totally official.

"A beautiful gir like yourself is single?" why, maybe this place had good feung shui, or something. "I do believe we've reached the center."
And they had. It was private enough, pretty enough that he led her to the middle, gently of course-- he woudln't want her to force her into anything when he believed he could convince her into it.
"It is a romantic place." he stated, looking around with a nod. Instead of bringing Hadrian, maybe he should leave Marc in here, and take Hadrian somewhere else.
"Quite delightful."

That engendered another blush. "Well...." She pondered. Should she tell him? He didn't seem like he'd judge her, but... it might disturb him to realize she was "seeing" somebody his age. Or it might give him ideas.
"It's... complicated," she settled on. As they approached the center, she looked around, smiling. "It is," she agreed. "Very pretty. And... not at all hard to get to. I thought you said you were hopelessly lost, Mr. I-Can-Solve-A-Maze-In-Two-Seconds-Flat?"

Oh crap. Maybe he had been too quick about getting her in an isolated position? "Beginner's luck, I assure you." he said, nodding his head. "Are you sure it wasn't yourself who led me down this path? Because usually I am terrible when it comes to directions." picking a bench to sit on, he looked at the ((whatever it is that dominates the center of a maze)), and inclined his head. "Shall we sit down, then?"
He nodded. "And now how would it be complicated?" he tilted his head, watching her, assessing. Surely it wasn't serious if she wouldn't tell a stranger.
And for some reason, he couldn't see her as being intensly private about something that was going right.
"You can tell Thorn, Natalie."

"I'm fairly certain it was you who was telling me which direction to go. I was too busy reacting to you." She stuck out her tongue, plopping down on the bench next to him.
Then her face took on a thoughtful, almost sad expression. "It's... complicated, like I said. It's not an official relationship, I don't think. He hasn't said anything to that effect. Plus... well...
"He's a bit too old for me." Hm, what? Somebody out of college, then? Well, girls could be a bit odd about boys who were a few years older.

I was too busy reacting to you.
Well. He knew how her mind swung as well. With a laviscious grin, he tilted his head. "Reacting to me in a good way, I hope?" he inquired lightly, and smiled. Listening to her words, he sat down and leaned backwards justly slightly. "A bit too old, is it? A sophmore, someone who has graduated? An intern?" they didn't sound all too bad.
"He cannot be that much older." he responded, nodding his head. "As long as he isn't..." wait. He decided not to say 'in his thirties', because that was what Thorn was. "Too old." he managed. "It's fine."

She squeaked. Natalie seemed to have a fondness for that sound, along with 'Er'.
"More like squeaking and jumping away reacting," she got out, quickly, mind quickly going along gutter lines.
"And... ah... actually, he looks about as old as you are. Maybe a bit older." Her cheeks heated up, flaring bright red. Well, there - it was out. Somebody knew. Even if that somebody occasionally looked at her a little oddly and made pervy comments.

As old as he was, was it? Deciding that it wasn't so bad coming from a girl so young, he quickly eased the frown that had covered his face. "Well, that is hardly too old." he said smoothly, smiling and nodding his head. He didn't shift, but turned towards her. What was it about frontal positioning that seemed to narrow the space between two people?
"You don't think I am... old, do you?" a pause. Because it was risky footing, here. And Thorn was vain enough that he didn't want to hear that O word from a girl in a school skirt.
Not unless she was a child, and didn't know any better. And children were out of bounds.

"16 years older is too many years older in most everybody's age," she said quietly, shrugging. Then she looked up at him, still obviously embarassed.
"No, not at all! I'm just talking comparative ages... society's views on things like that. That sort of thing. If I thought you were old, why would I be... seeing... somebody older than you?"
Natalie shifted a little, fiddling with the hem of her skirt. "Even if it's not official," she added, mostly for herself, under her breath.

"Pardon?" he asked innocently. He had a suspicion of what she might have said, but didn't want to make a fool of himself. Nodding his head, he smiled, a little bit pleased, a little bit...
"Seeing, is it?" Well. He had more or less hoped that she would have said sleeping. That might have made his job more challenging, but helluvalot more fun too.
"It seems society's view on things would see me as a better alternative." he responded, smirking.

Natalie blinked, a bit confused, staring at him. "Yes, seeing. Um. It's... er... well... we don't go out on dates, technically. It's more... short encounters backstage?" The last bit was whispered, sheepishly.
Then... "What... er... what do you mean by that?" Was.... was he hitting on her?

Short encounters, was it? "Well, that is certainly no way to treat a woman he wants to 'see'." He added everything but the inverted bunny ears, and smiled at her next question.
"It is a beautiful day." he remarked, looking around. Turning so that he wasn't facing her any longer, he smirked. "What do you think, Natalie?" he teased.
This compound was getting more and more interesting. But! He had almost forgotten why he was here.
"When exactly is your performance debuting, again?"
