JVCA This is an idea I'm really interested in- the use of magick through an instrument. Does anyone know anything about it at all? I can't really find anything... Do drum-showers count?

Music and magick definetly mix. I mean music is energy because the sound comin from it is energy. Magick too as we know (or will now haha) is energy as well. Its only makes sense that they fuse to some degree, Magick also has to do with different types of vibrations with the 7 planes of existance. Music itself has different levels of vibrations on accordance with sound....wow I'm babbling....I'll stop now.
aurellion-- Sorry I havent sent you that music and magic stuff like I was going to, Ive been sooo horrible with stuff lately. sad

African tribes have been using drum music for their rituals... Native Americans used to sing? Didn't they?
I really don't know much about the topic, but I find it easier to perform spells and rituals if I sing, badly, but never the less.
Also, this is completely un-magic related, BUT... It does have something to do with energy. I am addicted to concerts, live concerts are amazing. One of the reasons why I like them so much is because of the energy that gathers there. Imagine a leader (a High Priest, if you will)... And a BIG group of followers (10.000+) all of them singing and chanting along. I lose myself in the music, the energy is amazing, you feel out of this world.

The whole music and magick coorelation is there. I don't know for certain if it is based on different instruments belonging to different elements or the fact that if you listen to music or play an instrument, the logical portion of your mind shuts down and the intuitive side is brought out.
During ritual and spellwork, I'll listen to a mixed cd and let my body do the work. I get better results, and I feel more connected with everything if I dance during ritual and spellwork. I really don't bother with a plethora of ritual tools. About the only tools I use now are a sword, incense, a candle, a little bowl of water, and my body. Basically, if I listen to music, I tap into the energy that is in body, and I use that for the ritual.
